  • Applied was fairly easy process to verify identity took about 5 minutes with license handy and account opened instantly, will see if they apply the $50 in the next 2 days.

        I had that, then got a text with link to verify ID 20 mins later. But havent heard anything since.

  • No email and I was I believe some of the first to apply. However I had to 'verify another way' as the SMS borked on me. Guess we miss out as they are doing the SMS verification first.

    Poorly run promotion by a bunch of banking noobs (sms verification didn't work, no email received, no instant setup of account for many, etc).

        And no, it's not smart, because people won't use the account and many will think that they are are joke because of how the signup process went for many; like I said, sms verification didn't work, no email received, no instant setup of account for many, etc. Never had such an amateur hour during a simple signup of a transaction account.

      Yeah. Nada for me as well after applying not long after this deal was posted. It would be way too late by the time the account gets opened and miss out the $50 due to not meeting the first 500 requirement :(

        yeah the fact that they updated their website (the offer is sold out) is a very good sign.
        some other promos are basically left us guessing if the limit has been reached/not, while they keep collecting the registrations

        • The question is now: does this mean the promo is going to be approved for all that applied before this change.
          Or was the site updated, but there are still applications that are >500 but before the website was updated (so not going to get the promo).

                • @Rain Cloud: I guess in that case something has gone wrong during the application (most likely ID check) so it was not processed automatically? Seems a bit deja vu of the Optus tablet deal.

    I just called, lady said their staff have been overloaded with all the applications and may take a couple of days to determine who the first 500 were, and were considering something smaller to give to those who weren't in the first 500.

    I'm also still yet to receive any email after submitting my application (got the same "Thank you for submitting your application. Our staff will review your application and notify you of the outcome as soon as possible." as above). Hoping it still counts and I was one of the first 500 (clicks were in the 600s when I applied).

    • Thanks for sharing. I submitted an email enquiry — which I did not get an automatic email that I had submitted anything at all, either— the lack of acknowledgement (just an automatic one) when you submit anything is pretty offputting to be honest!

  • Received an email and a text message this morning to do the ID verification (upload ID docs and take face pic).

    When I signed up 2 days ago, there was about 400 clicks on this post and the sms verification wasn’t working, so opted for the other verification option that day.

      My partner opened at the same time as I did, but they were going to "contact her for ID verification" - so far no contact at all though.

      • My partner is still not contacted for the ID verification. Called them more than 1 week ago, and they said to wait for the call from them because they had a lot of applications. Still no phone call though.
