    This or the 2022 v8 for $474

    • unless i'm missing something, it's just 3 extra attachments, right?

      • +2

And the cleaner head is updated in the 2022 version.

        • +1

Just bought off ebay the 2022 model at $474. I reckon the anti tangle head is worth teh extra $74, plus you get extra attachments

      • +9

        According to https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/702710
The anti tangle update in the motor head is IMO a very important change. Anyone using one of these in a household with long hair will know…

        • +6

recently purchased the new unit and it's great. the new cleaner head is so much better, no longer having to constant detangle hair. Also, it's 380 at good guys if you pay with Paypal and get $120 store credit bonus which brings it down to $380.

          • @dragonslayer: How'd you get 120$ off? Paypal promo says 80$ off 500$ item

            • @kenworth: I just bought another small item to get it over the 500 cost

              • +1

@dragonslayer: pay using PayPal in 4 instalments, with no fees associated with it.
click and collect the item. the voucher gets emailed to you July 14.

                https://thegoodguys.sirv.com/Content/2022FY/HubPages/EOFY-SA…

also bonus** if you get the invoice delivered on your phone, they give you a $10 store gift card

                • @dragonslayer: Is there a reason why buying from Dyson eBay comes with more attachments than buying from TGG?

                  • +2

@BargainsGrabber: To be honest I'm not sure,
it looks like the TGG one is the standard version, Dyson is giving the extra accessory to make us from buying from them directly. It comes down to if you think you will use the additional accessories + cost saving.

          • @dragonslayer: How do you check the store credit?

            • +1

@ar7ist: Their T&C state they will SMS you the voucher, 1 week after the purchase on Wednesday.

          • @dragonslayer: Store credit does not qualify as discount as you will need to go back to purchase another item to use it, and its expire pretty quick.

            • +6

@itstuan: "• Your Store Credit will expire within seven (7) days of the Credit Dispatch Date"

    • +5

2022's anti tangle cleaner heads mean more to me

      • Thanks mate! Then I’ll keep my 2022 v8 lol

      • Which attachment are you referring to? The Hair Screw head?

        • +1

Yes and the Motorbar cleaner head as well

          • @xyzzyxyzzy: Have you tested both motorbar and the other one?

Surely this code also reduces the v8 origin thau I already got for $440.

Edit: the lineup is mental, origin is still $849. They should simply all this crap.

            • @G-rig: Still waiting for the delivery. Will update once received

            • +1

@G-rig: Tested yesterday and today on my cats' beds, cat's tree and the whole hard floor. No tangling at all. Works a treat!

              • @xyzzyxyzzy: Yeah the Cork screw tool is meant to be great too

    • +2

Is the 2022 which you are referring to?

      https://www.jbhifi.com.au/products/dyson-v8-handstick-vacuum…

If so, where is it for $474?

  • +2

    eBay plus members only…

    • +1

      5 dollars to join

    • Check if you’ve got the voucher available. I’m not a current member but the voucher was in my list and it worked.

      Purchased, thanks OP.

      • you mean the PLFY20 code works for non-ebay+ user ?

        • It did for me, but I’ve been a member before. Seems like an error of sorts.

  • Does it clean house as well or only Animals thanks

    • +12

      Animal house

      • +1

        House animals

    • Just Elephants

      • Dyson's for elephants

  • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is good to use on carpets?

    • +1

basically the more expensive or the bigger numbers the better (Dyson), for carpet look for the one with brush head or carpet head.

  • how often does this deal come around?

    • +5

Dyson is discontinuing the V8 Origin/Animal/Absolute line so I guess until the stock lasts

This thread helped me a lot https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/702710

      • +1

That thread… lead me to think twice about getting any of these clearance V8's. If anyone using these knows, the cleaner heads always get stuck up with hair. Wonder if the anti tangle hair screw is sufficient, or if youd rather use the standard head with the hair removal vanes.

        • +1

think twice about getting any of these clearance V8's

          Agreed.

The use cases of the two heads are pretty separated. The hair screw head is narrow and only suitable for small areas like pet beds and car interiors. The motorbar head is for floors etc and that's where I also really want the detangling feature.

          • @xyzzyxyzzy: That being said, makes this deal very tempting. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/703992

How do I justify buying this when we already have 2 V8's absolutes…

            • @ATangk: lol wait for those two parts for sale

              • @xyzzyxyzzy: Anti tangle screw is $49, but its half size. The full size brush isnt available anywhere, seems dyson know this and dont want to sell it as an individual part, despite literally everything else being on the replacement parts site.

                • @ATangk: Wow this is… beyond awkward

                • +1

@ATangk: Like you say, hair screw is available for $49 here: https://www.dyson.com.au/hair-screw-tool-971426-01

Production is ramping up for the new machines and Motorbar heads, this will probably be available as a replacement part in future, however can't give an ETA.

Same happened for Hair Screw tool, High Torque XL heads, they were initially only available by contacting support for replacement with the serial number of a unit that included it, however became available on the website once sufficient stock was available.

Hope that provides some context and helps.

                  • @Anthropomorphised: If you have long hairs (have 3 daughters) and a tiled floor, is it better to get the fluffy head or use the anti tangle head?

                    • +1

@Jimmie: Fluffy head is optimal. I haven’t found it tangling much on that surface with my partners long hair (and she sheds like you wouldn’t believe) Hope that helps

  • Which Dyson cordless vacuum is good to use on tiled/wooden floors?

    • +2

      Something with the fluffy head

      • Is it worth paying ~$200 for this separate attachment?

        • +1

Seems $150 on Dyson site. I’m planning to wait and see - I have oldish wooden floors so not sure how much it matters.

Currently using a Dyson v6 with fluffy.

          • +1

@WhyAmICommenting: $149 for V8 model & $179 for V10 and newer. Beyond just protecting from scratching it does do a better job of removing fine dust

    • +2

The absolute plus, but u can buy the fluffy head for the other models too

    • +3

I just use the regular attachment on my tiled floor. Seems to work fine

  • +2

Superb price. I just purchased a V7 for not a lot lesser.

  • +2

Don't forget to stack with the giftz 10% bonus (9.09% off) ebay gift card!

    • Thanks but too late for me! Using Afterpay anyway.

    • Thanks!
Just noticed they restocked earlier today.

Spent ~$362 there to get this V8.
Not a bad set of discounts and deals at all :D

  • just joined eBay plus, but the code is not working?

    • You have to wait 24 days for activation.

      • days or hours?

        • I was just joshin..this deal expires in 23 days.
Not sure why your Plus not working yet, maybe give it bit more time or contact eBay.

          • @whorishmouth: …. thanks , mate.
wondering has anyone successfully applied the code

            • +2

@double9209: Just joined! Applied the code within 5 secs. Worked for me!

              • +2

@Flyin: thanks, contacted eBay, turns out my account setting was wrong. placed my order too.

  • These are the Dyson deals to look out for. My two are still going strong otherwise I'd grab it!

  • Their replacement battery prices (and stock levels) are a joke…

    • get a good 3rd party higher capacity one

have had my v8 for 3 years, same original battery, use it 3x/week

      • What do you reccomend?

      • Got a recommendation? There's so many listings on ebay, Amazon, same with Aliexpress. I just don't know what's garbage and what's not.

        • Go with Amazon, ideally something sold by them rather than 3rd party, warranty should be easier.

    • +1

Then just go ahead and buy the cheap generic batteries.

  • Can/Do Motorbar cleaners scratch engineered wood floors?

  • What's the difference between Dyson V8 Animal vs Dyson v8 Animal Extra?
Can't see extra acc or anything

  • Dyson vacuum lasted very long
My DC35 bought 8 years ago is still running well today (battery deteriorated but still can run around 10 mins per charge)

    • Same for me! I bought a replacement battery for about $40 off ebay for mine. Worked a treat and super easy to do. Think there's only a couple screws and it slides out.

    • Mine crapped itself just out of warranty, didn't even use it much.

      • +1

Should hit them up, pretty good with warranty even if just out.

      • How long ago was it out of warranty? I always advise reaching out to support if it's 3 months or less out of warranty.

        • Hi @dmgmelba, all these staggered sales are fun, bought the v8 origin end of April, ever since then there are better deals out with more attachments (on eBay and Dyson direct). I've bought two now and a separate hair screw tool. Wouldn't have minded sending back the v8 origin but was out of warranty. Any idea why the RRP for that one is 849, was on sale for $469 or something (owes me $440 from eBay and the attachment $50). Was hoping Dyson could have sent something out..

Good and bad time to buy these lol.

          • +1

@G-rig: Hey mate, sorry but unfortunately I don't have the answers to those questions as I just work frontline as a product rep instore.
I'm only on here in a personal capacity, not as part of my job. I just like to make sure OzB users have the information to be able to make the best choice for their needs.

  • +1

Thanks OP got one. Wanted to get a replacement but price hasn’t been this low for a long time.

  • got a V10 2 weeks ago. now this came up :(
I am thinking if myer would take a return for it :(

    • No chance unless it was never taken out of the box.

  • Awesome price, just paid $449 for the origin v8 last week

  • +1

I have a 6 years old V6 which is working fine - is the suction on this V8 significantly better that I should consider an upgrade?

    • I have the V7 and feel FOMO for this deal.

    • same, got a v6 many years ago and still working well
as I also got a robot cleaner (runs daily) and a Bissell CrossWave pet mop (used once a week)

My v6 is only used for occasional cleaning and vacuum the low pile carpet
while the price is so tempting, will probably pass this time

      • Yup same V5 was cheap and great. I had to replace the battery in about 4 years though.

    • +1

15% more suction power, double battery life vs V6, improved head design with a thicker brush bar (less prone to tangling) and much easier to clean and empty the bin than the V6. The 2022 model has a head that is improved even more than this, but the old model would still be a nice jump up.

    • +1

You should consider upgrading based on the improved emptying method. No more fingers up the side !!

      • +2

Looking forward to not having to finger my vacuum as often 😂

  • If you don't have one, don't hesitate or you might miss out

  • I bought this origin version for $459 last week wonder if I can get a refund and upgrade. Argh
