    • if you buy it from ebay Dyson or Dyson direct you have 30 days free return period

      • Thank you.

      • I wonder I should return and buy one now while waiting for my return approval. ?

        • If you look at the listing (assume you bought from ebay) it clearly stated that Seller pays for return postage within 30 days of delivery so either you contact them to cancel the purchase or you contact them when you received the product and get return. This listing also has the return shipping pay by seller so you should be safe either returning one

          • @JCRALLYART: Yeah would cost a lot returning on eBay, PayPal free returns perhaps? Hard up time buying one of these even there are always better deals out the next day.
Heaps more attachments with the exclusive over the standard origin, I was considering doing the same but was just over 30 days hmm.

            • +1

@G-rig: Check with Dyson as if you have not open the box, they may still accept return but you may have to pay for return shipping…if you use paypal it covers up to $45 shipping costs but not sure whether that's enough to cover

              • @JCRALLYART: Didn't use PayPal for some reason this time hmm. Oh well, could still email them. The included cork screw tool is worth a bit alone.

          • @JCRALLYART: Thank you I just sent through the return request, I bought from official Dyson through eBay store. The reason I put down is found cheaper price. Not sure if this is under the 30days guarantee.

            • @sherene: I had a look at eBay, my 30 day return window expired. I've price protection claimed once, but doubt they'd approved finding a different better (albeit cheaper) model on the claim. Guess the origin should drop under$400 sometime this year.

              • +1

@G-rig: Price will be pretty stable and wouldn't drop that low as V7 is still around (when is on sale is just below $400) so all V8 should still be between $450-$500 even when they are on sale….logistics, cost of materails, insurance everythings is skyrocketing right now so RRP is keep on rising too

                • @JCRALLYART: Ok thanks for that. Still happy with the price, just don't get all the extra attachments but bought a hair screw tool for the origin. A family member reckons they want it, just keen to complete a few dumb attachments cheap.

                • @JCRALLYART: Thank you. Dyson eBay just processed the return label as they don’t allow partial refund. I am after the additional attachments too. Works out well.

  • Another option which I did last night to get the V8 2022 version, join cheddar with $70 signup bonus and buy in Dyson site for 3% rebate, it will have $83 cashback so roughly $416. In Dyson website, you also get a bonus extension hose worth $29 (I did not see this in ebay) plus the 3 extra attachments if those things matter to you.

    • where did you $70 cheddar bonus? am only seeing $20

      • +1

        https://www.getcheddar.com.au/steppay

After following the instructions there, I did not necessarily need to sign up for step pay, I logged in and saw $70 pending and when I purchased from Dyson it added ~$13

    • Can't find Chedder on my commbank app, must be targeted?

      • you dont have to access it via your commbank app, just open the link above from your phone and follow registration instructions

    • You just missed 20% cashback at Cheddar, ended Sunday night!

      • Yea, i saw in the other thread, that would have brought the price down to ~$330, I was one day late

  • So this code works for ebay plus members? Does it work for the v10?

  • +4

Seriously, when is Dyson going to just make sequential models that encompass the improvements on the previous model and stop making 400 concurrent manufacturing lines to give the consumer a fake element of choice. Its a plastic mould, a motor and expensive attachments. That's it.

    • +1

They just did? All the V8’s with names after them are clearance now, hence sales.

      • +1

Just like the 11th billion v7 deal that we've had over the span of 35 years. They just keep making them. They never go away.

  • -1

Any reason why the v8 origin isn't included in this coupon code? It's a more basic (number of attachment model). No doubt I'll be able to price protection claim it again soon.

  • Thanks OP. Finally upgraded my V6 slim from 2016 which is dying this year.

  • Good deal, thinking of upgrading V6 slim. This or Dreame T20. Reviews look good for T20 but not too sure about the after sales support.

    • +1

I just did mate. My V6 slim stops sucking after 5-10 secs of use. Then have to pop into the charger for able to use it. Might be just a battery problem but I’ll figure it out later.

      • Same. I bought it in 2017, battery just gave up otherwise it has served me well. Guess should stick with Dyson.

      • Oh my last one was the same V6 Slim, from Aldi of all places I think.
I was getting the same 'dead battery' situation too. I think it was caused by leaving it plugged in too long after charging, apparently you aren't meant to do that.
Mine was still in warranty years back so I got onto Dyson to send me out a new battery (think they're like $70 normally :O) and it's been working better since then.

  • Wonder why the v8 origin is a higher RRP, must be better

    • It’s a dead line so they don’t really care, but same as this I guess. Maybe they don’t have many left.

      • Yes just would have been nice to know they were going to reduce each one in turn, what's the bet the absolutes will go on sale next.

        • Ah that would suck (pun) because I actually need the fluffy head.

          • @WhyAmICommenting: Mark my words it will happen lol.

            • @G-rig: Hopefully in the next 45 days (Dyson refund period), I’ll hold out buying the fluffy accessory for now.

              • @WhyAmICommenting: Oh right, I got my first origin from eBay, so they don't want to know about it after 30 days (which has passed end of May). It's been opened but wasn't taped closed or anything. Also bought the hair screw separately which I maybe shouldn't have done so quickly. Just need to give them another crack during work hours sometime.

Suppose the parts are specific to the box as far as serial numbers etc.

Also shouldn't have ticked auto warranty registration as it starts before you even get it.

  • Sold out damn!

    Woohooo back in stock!

Can confirm, just bought a second one as my MIL wants one as well :)

      • +1

        Nice!

  • Thanks op ordered.
    Is this really 799 retail?
is this low end or mid range dyson?
    chur

    • Never had this price, I bought a V8 absolute for $700 5 years ago.

  • Bought one with a gift card from Giftz to get a 10% bonus

  • If you have long hairs (have 3 daughters) and a tiled floor, is it better to get the fluffy head or use the anti tangle head?

  • Does anyone know how this differs to the kit that's sold currently at $69 / rrp $89?
    Cheers,

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/dyson-complete-cleaning-kit-…
A hard/narrow crevice tool would be better than another brush.

  • should i buy this for my wife's birthday.

  • Retail price is $799 and only comes down to $639.20.
    Looks like the deals ended..

    • also, i'm an eBay plus member

  • Back active

  • Has been "in transit to next facility" for a week.

  • I have wooden floor + tiles & also long hair at home. Should I go with this one or the new 2022? I used to have V6 for more than 5-6 years, then changed to Dreame V11 last year, but feel Dyson is still much better & stronger.

Looking at price point as low as possible. I also have CBA if needed the extra $70 from cheddar if it works out cheaper and can split into 4 payment?

Any advise would be great. Thank you.

  • Got one, and thanks for burning a hole in my wallet :-) I have wanted this model for ages.

    • I used to feel that way about Elle McPherson
