Purchase Selected Intel 12th Gen i5 CPUs to Receive Bonus EVGA 240MM AIO Liquid Coolers and EVGA CLC Intel LGA1700 Retention Kit!
From: 30th May 2022 To: 30th Jun 2022

I got the i5-12600K for $399 with free shipping and no surcharge.

Cooler is being sold at $79 (reduced), $17 for the bracket. I'm assuming this is old stock or something since this cooler was first out in 2017 but I don't really care. Having to pay for a cooler was holding me back from upgrading so I'm happy to try this one out for free as my first ever liquid cooler.

Also i7-12700KF with free 280mm cooler:

  • is there much of a difference between 12400 and 12600 to justify the $100 difference?

    • Yes, besides that this is a "k" version

    • The non-k model of the 12600 has higher clocks and a UHD 770 compared to a UHD 730

      • integrated graphics is handy, but those buying this level cpu aren't buying for the UHD 730. non-k having higher clocks tho is a PITA, if you don't plan to OC may as well stick with a non-k

    • I did consider the 12400, if you're on a budget it's still a good option because you can get a b660 mobo since you're not overclocking, which is supposedly cheaper (not really much in it for a good one). I went for the 12600k over 12600 because you get extra cores (10 vs 6), extra threads (16 vs 12) and its a faster base clock (4.2 GHZ vs 3.7GHZ).

You asked about 12400 vs 12600 (non K), not that much difference but the base clock is 3.3GHz vs 2.5GHz.

    • yes 12600k has 4 e cores

  • Is there a problem with the EVGA aio coolers? Seems shops have been offloading these cheap or free as a bonus, either by paying with a certain method or free with cpu's or just cheap.

    • They get very good reviews but they are pretty old now and require the adapter to fit the 12th gen socket. Why would you buy one when you could get an updated one made for 12th gen for not much difference in price. If they're gathering dust on a shelf may as well use them as incentive. It worked on me!

Have had one of these EVGA coolers and got rid of it, ran very loud and had weird rattles just to cool an 11400f.

      • Interesting, I'll report back once I have mine up and running. I'm air cooled at the moment, very loud when running at full whack so it'll be interesting to compare.

  • Need a good 12700k deal

2 days ago they had the same free cooler deal with the 12700K for $499. I nearly got it and kinda wish i had but while i was thinking about it they seem to have removed it.

They have the i7-12700KF for $529 with a free cooler.

Yea I'm sad, I would have jumped on it instantly. I'm not a fan of the CPU + Motherboard bundles, it always feels like a compromise for such an important part of the system. But a discounted 12700K with a cooler would be an instabuy.

KF for $529 with free cooler. You get a 280mm cooler with the i7.

@endor: Thanks, that is a good deal but I’m after the K as I want the integrated graphics as a fallback if needed. Just have to wait!

That is a good point with combo deals. The cpu is fine but the mobo they pair it with is on the budget end. It's normally stock that doesn't sell. I personally would rather buy a cpu/mobo combo that has a decent board…. even if it's saving $20 or something minor

yeah ….don’t need the cooler as intel ship with a fan which has heatsink paste on the bottom …..haven’t had one fail ….just need a good deal on the cpu …….

      • The K series unlocked CPU's do not come with an Intel cooler, only the locked ones do.

If you think running a stock Intel cooler is a good idea good luck to you

      • Even if the K version did come with one, yes the stock cooler 'works', but for any serious workload or overclocking it is redundant. There is little to no headroom with those coolers.

You'd be surprised at how much further your temps will go down by using even a budget thermal paste. Noctua NH-2 or whatever it is will drop em by 5°c on most cpu's. Get a quality paste and your cpu will love you for it

        • The paste that come with a factory heatsink with its own already applied thermal paste, are ordinary at best.

        • I was just about to ask about that, thanks.
