Was in the store today and told 20% off all bikes for one day only (Saturday). Sales staff say they only do this sale very occasionally.
Don't know if anything similar in other states.

Most cycling stores will start discounting quite a lot around the Tour de France because there is a lot of public interest and it allows them to clear the old stock before the new models start arriving.
(Just to clarify, you may want to wait if you are looking for a new bike as you will probably have more to choose from in a couple of months time).
When you buy a bike you can get 15% off the ticket price just by asking.
I got the Giant Cross City 3 for $685 from $800.

I'll bet he said he really likes you. And he was dropping the price so low he got no commission, just to meet his sales quota for the month. And it is the same bike that Cadel Evans rides on weekends. And the boss was going crazy.
Is this one of those "off RRP" scams?
Last Giant I bought was ticketed at 20% below RRP, and I got another 20% off that as the new models were out. (Two less spokes or something.)Went to Cyclebuzz in Canning Vale recently with the intention of buying a bike for my son. The staff at Cyclebuzz were friendly and helpful. When presented with the RRP on the bike we were looking at I asked for them to pricematch the exact same bike I had seen advertised elsewhere. Suddenly the air turned cold, all friendliness was lost and I was told there was no discounting, the Rrp was the price take it or leave it.
Needless to say, we left and bought the exact same Giant bike at another retailer for 25% less.
It's times like this I wish I was a giant
