Btw this is the price per vehicle. Useful if you want to know what people are actually paying before you visit the dealer. Originally published 1st June so I assume it finishes 7th June.

"The price of the report will be $33 when it goes live across the site. For the next seven days we are looking to you, our regular CarExpert readers and friends to tell us what you think and provide feedback – and as such are offering a discount code that will bring it down by 85 percent to $4.95 while it is in beta.

So pay $5 to get a price for 1 of 15 cars.
Why not redbook? Or carsales etc… free and every model available

    • They reporting what people paid, not the asking price.

      • +2

So where do they get that data?

        • +3

Maybe from redbook or carsales etc…

        • Exactly. Dealers won't release it publicly. People tend to lie on fb groups/forums etc..

      • This concept sounds awfully familiar. I wonder…

  • +7

That's hilarious. Charging to test a beta.

  • Have you done a business case for this?
Methinks the free redbook values already cover this now thay theyre being updated.
Covid was a once in a generation event.

  • +2

Seems a bit pointless, but RedBook values are also pretty trash. Best gauge is just find your car on carsales and go from there.

You can also use https://www.manheim.com.au/home/landing/car-price-guide to give you an idea of recent more wholesale pricing which is likely closer to Facebook/Gumtree then Carsales.

  • Interesting.. but how are they getting the data?

  • It is a new way of making money.
The price can be made up, charging money from users and from dealers. Like middleman job, easy money.

  • No bargain can get this free on carsales
