  • I saw lots of "XXX Global" located in South Granville NSW and their delivery estimation is 4 biz days. I wonder if the estimation is accurate as I don't want to wait a month for stocks from Hong Kong/China ?

    • +1

Going by the seller feedback, it seems the shipping is done from Granville. Many feedback states fast or quick shipping.

May be other ozbargainers who have bought from this seller before may validate this.

    • +1

Often I think chinese companies ship stock in bulk to a logistics company in Aus, then that company send them out locally…

Shipping times are "generally" ok, about what you'd expect in Aus at the moment..

    • +1

Ordered mine Monday and got mine today so I think that's accurate.

      • I got mine, not Xiaomi but different brand… Strangely enough, they only provide invoice only when asked and there is no gst on the invoice. I wonder if it's the same for you ?

        • I guess so, I didn't receive an invoice. How did you request one?

          • @Diji: Msg them on eBay. But the invoice is worthless as there is no ABN or whatsoever.

            • @duluxe2000: I'll request one and let you know if mine's the same, betting it will be.

            • +1

              @duluxe2000: Yeah same here.

  • I can't find out the security update EOL or which Android OS version this will end on. It's not here.

    https://trust.mi.com/misrc/updates/phone?tab=aerdata

The other Xiaomi phone that seller has on ebay - Redmi Note 11 - has security updates to January 2025 and will get Android 13. Only 4G and 4GB RAM.

Can get down to $355.68 using: PLUS20E and 5EXGTRAOFFX3GT without having EbayPlus.

Now do I pull thew trigger or not and replace my Mi 9T? :P

    • +1

tempted but lack of band 28 can be an issue for rural areas.

      • @toxinor no band 28 on this one? Thanks for pointing that out. Then it's out for me :(

      • Are you sure mate. This is what I can see on gsmarena

        • Thanks for verifying. I wasn't checking the infor from official website.
          More tempted now..

        • Not according to the listing. I've just shot an email to the seller…

          • +1

@Limbot: Would be keen to know.. Pls update us 😊

            • @Skyisblue: Yeah Band 28, I'll bite , otherwise…….

              • @Limbot: No reply from seller. That never bodes well for me when building buyer confidence 😒

Anyone found any definitive information about Band 28?

  • Wish it had micro SD support and a headphone jack.

    • Less than $20 more for 256GB and I'm mostly happy for no SD card.

  • Any thoughts on mediatek dimensity 1100? Is it good?

    • +1

Similar to SD865 but with support of 5g and newer techniques.
And major disadvantage is about the optimisation on camera but apparently that's something beyond this price.

  • Anyone comment on the rumours I've seen of embedded ads in this phone (and some oppo). Especially in notifications area and some system apps. I need to research this some more and hope it's just people with malware and/or dodgey apps installed.

    • +3

I bought a Poco X3 Pro about 6 months ago, I followed a guide to disable the ads, all very easy, I've never seen an ad:
      https://www.androidauthority.com/remove-ads-xiaomi-miui-1019…

      • +1

        Great to know. Thanks.

      • can you please share your experience with the phone?

        • +2

          The Poco X3 "Pro" ?

I've been really impressed for the money, but I've only been using aging flagship phones in recent years, Galaxy S4 & S6 and the likes, so almost anything would be a significant upgrade..

I've had no issues, the battery life is great, the screen is great out in the sun, it runs my mapping apps, vids, music, surfing, email and the likes without issue… I haven't done any gaming and I dont really use the camera (which people complain about)…

My phone usage is probably a bit different to most people, my main need is running topographic maps and charts for hiking, boating, riding, and such, watching vids in the tent at night, and only occasional surfing, phone, messaging and such…

The mains PD fast charger that came with it is fast, and it charges fine from a standard old 5V usb outlet and power-banks…

I've dropped it numerous times and it's survived without issue, a couple of drops have been quite violent, it "seems" to handle some abuse ok… (touch wood)

Just noticed. The price in this deal is for 256GB & Ebay Plus discount. Not 128GB.

    • Thanks mate.. Updated the title

    • Thanks mate, You got me!

  • I wish it had an OLED display. Only thing letting this phone down (and no SD slot but 256GB helps).

  • Any thoughts on whether this would this be a downgrade, upgrade or sidegrade from an LG V30+?
It seems really difficult to find an upgrade at this sort of price even though I bought the LG for $300-$400 years and years ago…

    • +1

Screen is a downgrade OLED vs IPS but you do get 120Hz in this. This is way faster than the V30 and you get double RAM (my V30 chews through its 4GB quite easily). Personally the screen kills this phone for me but if you're okay with IPS colours and poor contrast ratio and brightness then this would be a massive upgrade performance wise in both general use and gaming. Also there is no headphone jack but you get a 3.5mm to USB-C adapter. It will be a downgrade in sound quality though as the V30 has an internal DAC making it one of the best phones ever made for music.

      • +1

        Thank you! That's super helpful!
Not really worried about screen or sound. All about the speed etc etc…

So, the Dimensity 1100 and Mali G77 are much better than the Snapdragon 835 and Adreno 540?

  • Anything similar with wireless charging?

  • +1

    Got one!
    Arrived in a few days.
    Thanks

    • Would you be kind enough to check/ confirm if yours has band 28? Thanks!
