  • Is this really a deal though?

Still paying $428 for the 12 months when you could get a Boost or Woolworths Sim got more than half the price.

You need 5g? Why? I doubt there are many with legitimate need for 5g network.

Save yourself the hassle, but BOOST or Woolies (get10% off a shop too) and you effectively have an extra $200-250 credit to spend on whatever you want and you can just that anywhere.

    • +3

      Yes, I need 5g.

Skipped reading after I read Boost and Woolworths

  • is boost on same network as telstra retail tho? Optus is terrible indoors.

  • I dont get the fuss about waiting for the $500 for $59/month
    I mean, $10x12 months, it's 120$ more.
So $400 for $49/month is $20 cheaper actually.

Or am I missing something ? If someone can enlight me.

    • +1

getting it to a $49 is not a certainty

    • yes this is 69 and the 500 is 69 as well

  • Has anyone had success porting out and not waiting 30 days to get the offer?

    • I had boost and bought a kogan sim and I only used it for a week or less then was able to port in to telstra with the free S22

  • Would we for certain get a $10 credit when we call telstra chat atleast or it has not worked for some people?

    • I'm currently on the chat right now, so far no luck, but will obviously try again to see what happens.

"Oh okay, Apparently Jb-Hifi is our third party and they have different discount from Telstra Directly as we have different prices for our plans. If you would like to have discount of credit on your JB-Hifi Plan it must go through them."

Thanks for the update! Its not 59$ and neither has the $500 gift card attached. So not really worth it if I cant atleast get it down to $59

Don't give up on the chat people, it can take some time but well worth the effort.

I ported in on the last deal which was $69 per month with $500 gift card.

Asked for the $20 credit a month, they instantly applied $10 per month credit, but wouldn't budge on the $20. I escalated and after much back and forth eventually got the $20 per month, except the person who processed the credit put it through as a $240 one time credit and didn't remove the $10 per month :D

Thanks op. Signed up and managed to get the $10/month discount via chat 😊

  • Will it help if I tell them I am an existing customer with home internet?

  • How’s your experience with Dodo?
Was looking for something with Wifi calling, and came across this plan $16/month for 12 months (20GB data).

    • +1

I'm with Dodo at the moment and definitely do NOT recommend. Zero reception where Optus, and Telstra are fine… Can only take calls outside and not be walking or driving… Using phone calls for work sometimes think I'll take up this telstra deal again!

      • Thanks for sharing your experience Oipjo

  • Can I do this along with a phone plan in Telstra store? Ie phone on a month to month plan, along with mobile plan all on a single bill and still get the JB voucher?

    • No, this is a JB Exclusive Plan.

  • When and what link do I ask Telstra chat for port-in credit? Do I officially go onto the plan first at JB then msg Telstra or am I supposed to pre-arrange the port in-credit with Telstra before heading into JB?

    • Telstra chat afterwards, I just told the Telstra rep that I was told there is a $15 monthly credit at JB and they offered me $10.

  • Any deals on mobile broadband?

  • What is the best way to take advantage of these deals if you are stuck on Telstra due to being regional? I don't mind getting a new number which I have done in the past. Unable to port out and back in due to needing an active phone and to remain on Telstra.

@penthus Further to my earlier comment below, just noticed this deal if you couldn't be bothered to unlock the prepaid phone

      • Thank you I will look into it, should have an old phone laying around.

    1. Buy a $2 (non-Telstra, Boost or Belong) SIM and activate using a 2nd phone if you have access to one. If not, buy a cheap prepaid phone and activate
    2. Port the number over to Telstra using this deal

If you don’t have a 2nd phone and have to buy a prepaid one, some of them come unlocked out of the box so you should be able to keep it as a spare to use with your Telstra service. If not, you can get it unlocked for $15-$20 on ebay. Like this for example

I am with Telstra Chat and officer said "You'll be able to see the $20 credit applied on your first bill, since you do not have your first bill yet it is not reflecting in the account. The credit will be applied on the first billing cycle." then "Yes and you'll be able to see it once your first bill comes, because I can see here that the install date was just today at 12:49 PM."

is he right? Or he just want to get me off the chat? I haven't done this before and I thoguth they have to do something on my account to get the monthly bonus credit.

    any opinion?

    • he is right take a screen shot of chat incase it doesnt happen

    • Excellent! Do you have the references number for the conversation? This might be easier for me to match 20 dollars credit!

      Thanks

Managed to get $20 off per month on live chat.

    Thanks for the deal.

    • How long after signing up did you wait to ask? :)

      • Think 1 or 2 days after.

  • Telstra offered $10 for 6 months off. "The $20 is actually a discount being offered by JB HiFi itself and not Telstra , you may contact them regarding that promotional discount . On our end, we can only process $10". Anyone have this experience?
