                Did people here joined by the My Optus App? I couldn't join via app without an active service, so I was joining via the web. Also, others wouldn't talk about cash rewards giving wrong cashback amount if they join by app.

    I had one in my cart but needed to wait until some ID issues are resolved then it's Out of stock. I went through with the ordering process anyway and received an order confirmation email. Cashrewards is tracking $28 as well. If you have one in your cart, try your luck.

    Thanks OP! Have also ordered two 64gb with 12month data plan.(yesterday around 6pm AEST).
    I have also confirmed with the Optus chat rep about my orders, and they've confirmed that there will be no further charges if I cancel the plan after 12months (I have the chat history in my email).

    I have confirmation email for only 1 order.

    There was a 3rd order which I had to cancel it as I accidentally selected 36month plan for device. Optus chat rep said that the cancellation may take few days to process so incase the device gets sent to my address, he/she suggested me to not accept the delivery.

  • I already have a couple of data sims on Optus, one $15 and one $25. This deal actually increases the data allowance, halves the cost AND gives me a free tablet. Hell, if the first one goes through I'm tempted to grab a second one too since it would save me $2.50 on the $15 sim too.

    The million dollar question for me is if being a business customer I can get the 50% off deal. If not, it's still the same $25 I'm paying but with a free tablet on the business side but I would be willing to move the data sims to a personal account to save a few $$.

  • I had one in my cart and it gives me an option to proceed to checkout but needs to creat a new account and ask me questions to do credit check such as name of employer and so on. Is that normal?

    • thats normal, i had one in my cart from this morning but hadn't got my driver licence from my car. I finally proceeded about 5 minutes ago and was successful. It could be that if stock is in a cart its reserved perhaps?

      I feel the credit check system needs a refresh to reflect modern financial institutions and services. It's not fair that it reflects negatively that we take up a plan like this, or use afterpay to secure 20% discounts etc etc

  • Looks like they pulled the pin on stock for half price plans only? I can still add the tablet to my cart for a full price plan.

    Will be interesting to see if they honour all the half price sign ups..

    If they cancel all orders it’s kind of shitty that signed contracts don’t work both ways hey :(

    • i just called then and wasn't an issue ( at this stage ) they said to me delivery in 4-7 days at the end of the call. assume they would have a message popup if it was no stock for this order

            @kehuehue: Nah I work for the enemy of OZB. I saw we can sell it 12 months free on the $25 in store. Which in itself was good. Then saw half price data sim and had to post. Hope everyone got one!
            Stock will still be in shops for those who want the $25 x 12mth option.

                  @farque: You poor f@%k. Been there myself. I literally burnt my work shirt after. I was a business development manager and decided to study Cyber Security and took a job there for 6 months.

                  Only job I've ever been fired from. I had the most sales but no Optus, no 'product care' no security or upgrade add-ons. I just couldn't do it to people who I felt I was taking advantage of and lying to their face when I knew I could get them a better deal.

                  Hope you find a way out of that pyramid scheme soon.

    Had a temp order number from this morning. Chat to the reps online now, and magically received a confirmation,service number and account #. Now have the contract and have confirmed the pricing for the 12 months with the rep. Thanks OP :)

  • Exiting Optus customer. Ordered around 11am. Just got phone call (yes a voice call) from Optus requesting additional info. Rep then pushed thru order. Now I have proper tracking number ending in A.

    Just finished up a call with one rep of them (well he hanged up on me)
    He said my visa is not valid for the device but only the sim plan, so what they can do is give me the sim card but not the device.
    I asked for a written email but he said cant do and hanged up when I ask for a reference number for the phone call.
    I did ask if the visa requirement is on the product terms and conditions or their website, he said he cant answer that but can transfer me to someone in customer service so I can get EDUCATED (yes he used the word educated).

  • I placed my order when I saw this deal yesterday and I never received a confirmation email and so I contacted their live chat support and they told me that my order is subject to a credit check and that the assessment team required that I email them proof of address and a copy of my driver's licence.

    I never received any email or anything telling me that I needed to do anything further to progress my order, so if anyone else is still yet to get a confirmation email, it is probably worth contacting them to find out what is required of you.

      • I just sent them a copy of my driver's license as proof of ID. Did you have to give them ID to sign up for the plan or something? For me it was just a simple checkout process, but I am also already a customer of Optus.

    • I never received an email however I got text message as soon as I placed the order, I also screenshooted the order number and service number once order placed, not sure if we are in the same situation but I assumed my order has been confirmed.

      • I didn't get a text or anything at all letting me know the order was confirmed, I only had the contract pdf I saved and the screenshot of the order with the order number. Seems like you got even more than I did.

    The 50% off the data plan does not say explicitly for existing customer only (even though it was supposed to be) but so many idiots contacting optus enquiring about whether they will get it etc…. just keep your mouths shut otherwise you will bring this to their attention and the ones that are new customer may not get them because of your paranoia. Is it that hard to wait and see?

    If anyone is still interested in the deal you can access online chat, through the Optus app, and buy the 64GB and 128GB tablets.

      • That's what I thought. Was speaking to an Optus agent, regarding not receiving conformation email. Asked if I was able to add another tablet and was told I could. Just received confirmation order via email for a second tablet, 128GB version. Was told 64GB is also available.

        • I called them and chatted with them and was told both are out of stock. So weird
