  • Reviews do not seem great.
Can you confirm is this is slim and doesnot cover the adjacent socket.
Why would anyone use this compared to a TP link Kasa or meross ?

    • its wide, blocks other sockets, but Meross blocks them too. Why - good firmware, pure HomeKit experience, no 3rd party apps / logins needed.

      • Meross’ is better imo. I have both.

  • That looks like it ate a few of the already giant Meross’

    • lol i tried to be total nerd and compare sizes, but I cannot find specs on Meross ones.

Don’t buy this. It’s annoyingly large and can’t output 240v. If you push it too hard it instantly dies in the ass. Just really inconvenient if you want to do anything that’s remotely higher power like a heater or something.
The worst bit? It’s not actually all that fast. Meross is faster for me.

Meross goes to 240v, is cheaper, smaller, and once I set mine up I never had to go into the Meross app ever again. Can just change name/room etc whenever I want in Apple Home. Plus, as I mentioned, Meross’ is more responsive.

I like Eve’s other apple home products. I LOVE the water tap, I got the door sensors too. Good stuff. Unfortunately I regret getting this power adapter.

    • Can you please reiterate what you mean by “goes to 240v”? Does the device not just pass straight through? Does it modify the voltage from the incoming line? If so do you know what % loss it is, ie what was it before the device and what comes out the device. Thanks

      • Sorry about this, I actually meant wattage. Sorry I’m not electrically minded.

So it’s rated for 1840W and turns off if you attach anything that exceeds that. So I wanted a timed oil heater that turned on at 5am every morning when it was 10 degrees or under. But this eve plug couldn’t do that because the heater used about 2500W from memory.

The meross one did it no issue.

        • that's no worries, appreciate your additional information.

the listing clearly does list 1840W as the maximum power draw. Plugging in a device that uses more than that and having it disable itself means its working correctly.

Standard appliances can only draw 2400W maximum from the wall as a normal socket can only be rated to a maximum of 8A. I would assume your heater is 2400W maximum to refresh your memory :)

This one is a unresponsive trash. I’ve bought two and the Bluetooth experience is terrible.

Eve Bluetooth sockets are slow, unreliable and demand to be in range of home hub.

The Philips Hue Zigbee plug has been the fastest/most reliable for me.
