Moose Mobile Plans: 6GB for $8.80, 25GB for $16.80 Per Month for 12 Months (No Lock-in Contract, New Service/Port-in Only)

200

Moose use the Full Optus network and have VoLTE and VoWiFi capability. Just ported my number from Boost to Moose, my SIM was delivered within 2 days of ordering. Started the port that night and it was done within one business hour the next morning. Moose 6GB plan suits me (and cheaper but with ~half data of the equivalent Boost offer ) as i hardly use data now that i mostly WFH and i'm not out that often. Will need to be aware of the risk of excess data charges though.

Deals:
Moose $8.80 6GB Month to Month ($6 off for first 12 months, then reverts to $14.80)
Moose $16.80 25GB Month to Month ($7 off for first 12 months, then reverts to $23.80)
Moose $25.80 40GB Month to Month ($4 OFF FOR FIRST 12 MONTHS, then reverts to $29.80)
Moose $29.80 55GB Month to Month ($5 OFF FOR FIRST 12 MONTHS, then reverts to $34.80)

NUMBER TRANSFERS & NEW SIMS ONLY OTHERWISE STANDARD DEAL APPLIES. Critical Information Summaries and Promo Terms and Conditions available on the deal link.

Delivery times (for SIMs) are currently 1-2 business days only in QLD and NSW. All other states' expected delivery times are 2-4 business days due to COVID impact.

  • I agree with the quick delivery and activation, but gosh reception is horrible. Service isn't too bad, but not capable enough. I remember moving to Moose and no one could call my number from Telstra numbers, only Optus. After 2 months of not being able to receive calls from Telstra numbers, they told me it was a common problem with Oppo phones.. But i didn't have an Oppo phone. My voicemail settings would also reset every few days, so i would have to call them to activate it again. I think i had called them around 15 times or so trying to get them to fix it. In the end i gave up and moved to Boost Mobile.

      Welcome to Optus.

Obviously your number call routing and advertisement was not done properly, which means calls from T network cannot route calls to your number.
Purely a network configuration issue from Optus/Moose. Nothing to do with handset.

Not a deal, Circles Life promo is much better. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/688368

  • Check what they charge for excess data and how long it takes to get a text warning.
They were charging me on the 1st of each month. Signed up in the middle of the month and thought I had a month of data, I didn't.

    • If you signed up in the middle of the month you would of had a pro-rata of the months data ie 50%?

      • Yep, probably something I should have known about.
The app showed the monthly data and not the pro rata.
It took about 4 days before I got a heads-up text about not having any data left, then the app updated.

  • I was with Moose a few years ago and their activation process was terrible. Took them a week and a half. Reception was horrible too.

That being said, good deals in this post. The way these and Catch Connect are going, SIM Slutting will be a dead art in a year or two

There will always be a place for sim slutting, so long as Telstra/Boost have offers for port in only.

  • This Lebara deal works out to $8.34 per month for 13.3GB
