  • Your normal price is $59 ?

    • Normally $59 + $5 postage

its another 18% off our standard discounted rate

      • +1

so what has $110 got to do with it? neg for inflated and false RRP. remove reference to that and ill remove neg. some people may think theyre saving $60 when in fact its only $10 saving from you.

        • You shouldn't be using RRP in your deals if you don't sell it at that price. Just summarize the discount to a percentage.

  • +2

the picture on your website looks like you weighing drugs :)

    • +2

they dont mention what type of cooking these scales are good for ;)

    • +1

      lol, it fully does.

  • +3

I think this is expensive. You can get scales with a precision of 1 gram on dealextreme for around $18. I have compared a dealextreme scale to a $100 Breville one, and found they gave the exact same weight.

EDIT: ok, apparently it's 'designer', and cheaper than most places. I think it's bad value, but will remove neg.

    last time 4+

    This time 2 Negs

    Beats me

    • If everything now think it sucks, we will just expire it
    • pretty simple. don't mislead people by implying they are saving $60 when they are only saving $10. I can get someone from ACCC/Fair Trading to give you a call to discuss if you like

      • -6

        If i said SAVE $60 - than that's misleading

Simply stating the MSRP is NOT MISLEADING

        Another point,

ITS THE CHEAPEST ONLINE OR ANYWHERE FOR THAT MATTER

        Final point,

Simply stating, was $59 - now $49 - DOES not reflect the market value of this product.

If your basis of argument is what we sold it before, does it make it right if we had it listed for $200 a day earlier and now dropped it to $49 for the sake of this exercise,

i trust not and we don't do shit like that

        • cool story bro

        • Sorry, its probably the moon phase thats brought these out tonight. Some days no one worries about anything here, other days the coyotes bay.. tonight its the packs turn… sigh

  • +1

Last time you did this they were gone in a zippy?
From what I can see, last time you did this your servers failed badly, and you ran the promotion for 48hrs… so which is it? Zippy or 48hrs for just 20 items?

  • +1'd… if only to balance out the rep-bashing…

    • +4

Agreed - no need to be antagonistic to the Rep who is posting a deal.

  • +2

discount of RRP is legit …
cheaper than other internet sites is legit …

I dont agree with the statement that it looks like it's weighing drugs though (besides the fact that the scale isn't accurate enough for that)

  • +5

Joseph Joseph stuff is great - of course you are paying a premium for the design. I love it and have a bit of their stuff.

To the rep - in the future, why not write the RRP and your regular price, that way noone will hammer you after posting.

  • +5

    Misleading pricing

    http://www.accc.gov.au/content/index.phtml/itemId/815334

Comparisons with the recommended retail price (RRP)

Advertising or promotions of 'savings' or 'discounts' on the RRP of goods and services are designed to convince you that you are getting a good deal because the price is less than the RRP.

If traders do not normally price their goods at the RRP, it may be misleading to give you the impression that they do.

    • Agreed. Unless they usually sell the goods at $110, they shouldn't put it in the title. Misleading / deceptive because it seems to imply $61 savings rather than $10 saving… this isn't a harvey norman catalogue.

neg for the rep's attitude, should have more patience to resolve the issue like removing the RRP in the title rather than getting agitated and aggressive

I don't think OZbargainers would want branded designer things… Well not often unless they are super cheap and there are savings involved.

  • -1

    No deal !

  • Good deal.

Comparing to RRP is fine by me. Should be bashing whoever sets the RRP, not the rep.
All the retailers I looked at that stocked this also compared to the RRP. (Le Domaine, Peters of Kensington).

This is the best price. Only Myer seem to try and sell it AT the RRP.

  • +2

It IS a deal. Sure, quoting RRP isn't kosher if that's not what you normally charge but if he's still offering the best price going, what's everyone's problem?

    EDIT: why hello post above…

  • +2

Lol. So much hate. Decent deal

  • +1

good deal… -ve to the rep bashing. I almost bought one of these for $65, but had money refundeed from a different supplier.

Keep up the good work, ignore the haters…

  • +1

Hey rep, I don't know why there are so many haters out there but $54 for a Joseph Joseph scale is a pretty sharp pricing. Those who neg this deal are based on their own understanding of a kitchen equipment where they had no knowledge of, as most people who shop for decent kitchenware would had heard of Joseph Joseph and do know that they usually carry a higher than usual price tag. Yes, it sucks that designer items usually cost way more and have a ridiculous RRP, but this is the sector where you can find more saving as they have a high margin to play with. If what you see don't interest you, just close this window and move on. Anyway rep, don't get put down by these people and keep bringing us more good deals!

    Thanks for the positive comment,

3 out of 5 haters out there are not commenting on the deal, but on the technicality of our advert, no different from politician who take up space for the sake of it.

We stand by what we sell and we stand by what we post on Ozb,

Unless its the best deal available, we don't post - Simple

I'm glad Ozb have mechanism in place to let other people vote on comments and remove when necessary

    Thanks for everyone support!

  • I like this scale. 10 years warranty, 5kg max. Only 1 question - what is the graduations? e.g. is it 5grams, 1 gram, 2 grams, etc? Thanks

    • -1

      Hi

      It's by the gram

      Cheers
      Leon

      • -2

Suitable for Dry Foods and Liquids (g, lb, oz, fl.oz, ml) - FYI

        Another point in comparison,

        10 year warranty
        Stainless steel

  • I won't buy it but this deal is fine.
