Decent price but I’m not sure I’d be comfortable running a 100W charge to my laptop through such a cheap device.. maybe I’m being overly cautious but laptops are expensive to replace.

Think there is no 100W adaptor. It is your laptop charger that plugs into this and it allows the power to bypass and delivered through the device.

Well that's what I said.. "through such a cheap device". Even though the device isn't supplying the wattage it still needs internal electronics capable of safely handling that current (and dissipating any heat). Even if it's a direct bypass with zero electronic smarts the internal soldering/wires need to have approprioate capacity for the current. My laptop is ~$2k. I'm going to spend a little more on a branded dock before I run up to 100W through it.

I just had a cheap HEYMIX hub trip my laptop (had to open it up and pull out the battery). Definitely would not recommend essentially no-brand hubs that do higher power stuff.

Can anyone recommend a deal on a branded alternative? Would be good to have something with a longer cable too as my laptop often sits on a riser…

On eBay you can get ex lease dell wd15 dock with lower adaptor for $59. If it doesn't come with adaptor don't buy it as the adaptor is pretty expensive.
