  • What kind of activities are usually available on these ships?

      Pass the pathogen particle parcel.

      • Wheres Wally?…. everywhere

  • I'm curious to see how the cruise companies will deal with a Covid or Norovirus outbreak these days i.e ensuring their ships aren't floating petri dishes of old.
In theory if the ship is only sailing from AU, remaining in AU waters and then returning to AU it should be easier to manage.
Nontheless a pressure test of their systems will be interesting to see to build confidence again.

    • Almost guaranteed to catch something unless they retrofit the entire ventilation system / mechanisms in all of their ships to allow proper breathe-in breathe-out instead of constant re-circulation shared between rooms and quarters. Since you are on the ship for days on end, chances of catching it go up exponentially.

  • Tried to get in touch with Flight Centre on the previous deal you posted. They are useless and never got back to me. Ended up booking through ozcruising which worked out to be a better deal anyways.

  • 2 days at sea, 2 port days, then 3 days at sea. Better get a drinks package.

  • Did a similar cruise in 2013. Dep Sydney, Newcastle, 2 sea days, 2 nights Cairns,Willis Island, Airlie Beach, Brisbane, back to Sydney. 11 days or nights, can't remember for under $100 a day and included $100 on board credit. Royal Carribean. Great cruise. They only go to Williis Island to go into international waters.

    • Any particular reason why they go into international waters?

      • So you can buy duty free. Otherwise, the costs of the drinks on board and anything you buy to bring back into the country will probably cost you double. Obviously the duty free extends to other items - watches, perfumes etc.

  • 8 nights cruise with only 2 ports isn't attractive.
