That's why you use your Bing Lee invoice and not the eBay invoice for redemption. Been fine for countless redemptions over the years for everyone else.

      • Does the Bing Lee invoice get mailed out with the delivery or via email?

        • +1

No idea haven't ordered from Bing in ages. Worst case you can ask for it.

        • +3

Email when I ordered something from them a few months ago.

  • Somehow I read that as 17TB for $137

Does this work on xbox series X?

    • Does the negative votes mean no?

    • +1

Yep, it's just a standard USB drive, it works with anything 👍

  • it's a deal in its own right but for similar cost, you can get a 1TB m2 ssd + enclosure combo which is much smaller in physical size

Not smaller in volume or cheaper, but maybe faster up to 10Gb/s vs 8 (if you have the right ports & enclosure) & can be reused inside other H/W.
T7 would be more robust, secure & reliable.

    • I only do this because I made my internal 1TB drives redundant and used the money to install 2tb internally instead.

  • Can anyone comment on the performance difference between the T7 and T5 specifically when editing video (typically 1080p60, but maybe 4k too) directly off the drive?

Obviously the T7 will perform better, but is it drastic? I already have a T5, but have another use for it if I were to upgrade to a T7.

Edit: I do my video editing on an iPad mini and it looks like it's limited to 5gbps on the USB-C port, so I don't think there will be much of a difference between the T5 and T7. Oh well.

I planned to do the same thing on an iPad Mini 6 and your edited comment just saved me heaps. Thank you, good to know.

      • No worries.

Which video editing app do you use? It seems like only Luma Fusion allows working directly off external media (as opposed to copying from external to internal storage). I'm all ears if you have an alternative option!

        • Nope, Luma Fusion was the plan. Now just waiting for the app to go on sale. It was $46 4 days ago then suddenly jumped to $69

    Are these okay for PS5?

Just thinking of cutting down my games, but need at least 1TB extra tho 2TB would be ideal.

    • +2

You can play PS4 games off it, and you can archive PS5 games on it - but not play them.

The transfer is very quick for big files, much much quicker than redownloading a game (FTTN 100mbps).

      • Specifically, 48 to 56x as fast, if the transfer speeds mentioned elsewhere in this thread are to be believed.

  • +1

    Click and collect and happy.

What type of speeds would this achieve on a M1 Mac Mini?
The M1 Mac Mini has USB-C ports capable of USB 4 (40Gbps) and USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10Gbps). This device says it uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 to achieve its 1000MB/s theoretical throughput. When plugged into a M1 Mac Mini will it use USB 3.1 Gen 2 and half its throughput ~500MB/s?

    • Answering my own Q… From various sources on the 'net this achieves 600-700MB/s attached to the USB-C port of a M1 Mac Mini.

    • Wish there were Bing Lees in SA.

    • USB 3.1 Gen 2 and USB 3.2 gen 2 are the same, both at 10gbps.

  • Just curious, are the Samsung T7s or the Seagate Touch SSDs better?

I quite like the form factor and size of the Seagate Touch.

  • Is this the cheapest these have been?

  • +1

No tax invoice included with the item. Any idea where to find one on the eBay site to claim the Steam redemption?

    • Ask binglee for invoice, it should already sent to your email.

Price dropped to $139 so $127.88 after code. Had resisted buying until now. (Red only at this price)
