Aaagh… your humour is as 'warped' as your records are ;)…. sorry to 'needle' you about this.. couldn't resist…. maybe better to 'scratch' that :)
All lost when listening to "Eclipse" Dark Side of the Moon with crackles.
I remember buying a technics SL 1200 professional DJ turntable that was a direct drive ans not a belt drive for $350, like 30 years ago..
So I guess I can add price to that list if yours.
$350 30 years ago would be $705 now after inflation.
And considering the SL 1200 was:
Direct drive and not belt drive
Fully adjustable bpm, not just a couple of options
Better quality than thisIt would be still better value.
Shame they are now priced at $1200.@FredAstair: Sure but 30 years ago everyone was still buying them. Now they're niche
@ONEMariachi: I’ll take niche quality over sub standard any day
@FredAstair: Turntables in general are niche mate. I’m not talking about the individual brands/models.
@ONEMariachi: Starting to think you just like to argue tbh.
@FredAstair: Not very self aware are you?
@ONEMariachi: So then you reply with a further comment that does little to explain and more to just continue the argueing.
Sorry mate..
I don’t have time for people like you..
Bye.
I wonder how the stylus goes from 33/45 to 78? Imagine a 78? Oh that poor stylus.
A lot of tables have a 78 option but yeah no way I'd try an old 78 with the stylus I've got
Any good articles or web pages on how to choose the right turntable. Like with all technology, there are a lot of choices out there and I know nothing about this one but would like to buy one. Have a lot of old records from my parent's collection plus want to expand my collection. Thanks!
Go with the lp60x if you are just starting out
Project is a good quality turntable for mid range price. Their popular one is the Debut Carbon. but if you're only interested ins tarting out, and unsure if you will want ot continue, as the other poster said the AUdio TechnicaLP60x is more than good enough for most people taht want to dabble.
Paid $569 just last week for the same one! At least it's not that much cheaper.
The two things that really drew me to vinyl was the inconvenience, and the expense.
