Mitre 10 Blacktown 20% off Storewide 1 Day Only 5/5/2012

91

Just received an SMS from our local Mitre 10 in Blacktown (western Sydney). Not sure if other Mitre 10s are having a sale.

SMS details: "20% off Storewide at Mitre 10 Blacktown, 1 day only, Sat 5/5/12. Call store for details & exclusions on 9671 2355."

Have called the store for exclusions and they mentioned Makita and Hitachi and some other brand (sounded like haslo? [Edit: Paslode…thanks Berger]). If you are after something in particular, I suggest calling up the store first.

Store is located at 3 Penny Place, Arndell Park, NSW, 2148…just next to the M4 for those interested.

  • How do Mitre 10 usually compare to Bunnings in terms of price and range? I've never been to the Blacktown store (despite being my closest) because Bunnings Seven Hills is so good.

    • Quite a large choice of building supplies (timber etc). General hardware compared to Bunnings is probably about 1/4 of the range, but they still cover all departments.

As far as price goes, I can't really say. Some cheaper, some same, some pricier.

  • Sounds like the same deal at the Mitre 10 Mega Store in Port Adelaide, South Australia.
Some caveat that the discount is only 10% for power tools. Highly recommend the DeWalt tools!!

    DeWalt

  • haslo, heh. Paslode..

    • Paslode…yep that's it.

Sorry, but I call "SCAM" on this one.
At least for my local store at Bondi Junction.

I happened to take a picture of a small outdoor table with two chairs yesterday (May 4th), which clearly showed the 'normal' selling price - $29.

Today it has no price placard, and when I enquired I was told it was $39 (less the 21.5%) So, $30.60 today.

I explained that I happened to have a photo from yesterday showing the $29 price. I was told I would have to speak to the manager. The manager said the price used to be $49, was then reduced to $39 less the 21.5% and that the $29 price was a "mistake" left over from an "opening special" from last month.

However, when I asked him to check his computer to show me the price, I could see it was shown as $29. When I pointed this out he said that I could come back tomorrow and buy it for $29. (or I guess buy it today for $30.60 ?).

    Very strange.
