Got it in an email today from DWI. Seems like a very good price for a great camera.

It is not just any 'compact camera'. It is pretty much as good as it gets in that form factor.
Personally I'm waiting for the replacement for the Olympus XZ-1.
Fair enough re: the performance/form factor; but if you don't want entry level DSLR size then at this price point I'd also be starting to think about a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera! ;)
My thoughts exactly. If you spend about $150 more you can get the NEX-C3 with a 16mm pancake lens. Should fit in most guys pockets. Unless you wear eunuch-making skinny jeans.
This seems to be a better deal: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/68651
It is indeed the better deal even without the FREE battery coupon code. I bought one and it arrived within 3 business days using standard delivery option.
Yes but the mirrorless cameras hardly fit in your pocket. This is pretty much for those with a dslr needing an alternative/backup or someone wanting good low light performance.

Unless you have tiny pockets, some of the more compact models are very pocketable; especially if you have a pancake lens.
Each to their own though; don't get me wrong, looking at the results from the reviews you're absolutely right, this is pretty hot P&S performance! I personally just wouldn't want to drop ~$400 on a P&S; for that kind of money I'd want something a little more flexible, but that's just me! ;)
bought one from shopping square (cheaper with free shipping back then - $368) and very2 happy with it, awesome low light performance and doesn't look intimidating- good for doing some street photography.
Probably the best compact P&S you can get at the market, pos from me
I bought one of these last year for $439 and have been really pleased with it. I have a Canon DSLR with a range of lenses but wanted something that offered pocketability and performance - so far so good. Great buying at this price.
Tempted to buy one and sell my G12 as this is way more pocketable.
Good review on the S100

Seems like a lot of money for a compact camera. Basically the same price as the 1100D.
