LG C1 OLED77C1PTB OLED 77Inch Smart 4K TV $4880 (+ $300 VideoPro Gift Card) + Freight @ VideoPro

400

Video Pro has the LG C1 77 advertised for $4880 + $300 Gift card.
But with no stock near me, I got Harvey Norman to price match it, gift card included.
Not a bad deal at all.

$421 delivery fee to central Sydney killed it for me.
Edit: Didn't realise videopro is located in Qld.

OP suggested HN is willing to price match with the gift card as well. Maybe try that.

I’m sure you pay good money for things people would question you why you would pay that much for such things. People value things differently.

That's always the case with TVs as the price range is so varied for a product that from a distance looks the same when switched off. They always try and show me some Big W TV for $599 that is bigger than the lounge room they sit in, yet is terrible quality and has terrible built in OS.

People in my family seem to prefer buying a crappy huge TV that breaks once a year. Instead I will enjoy my awesome TV that I purchased 5 years ago. Quality shows.

    • +4

My current TV has lasted 5 years, so $5000 ÷ 5 years ÷ 52 weeks = Less than $20 per week for high quality viewing. Doesn’t seem so bad.

      • +1

To be honest, most ''crappy'' TV will last as long as $5000 ones.

      • My 55HX750 Sony still going- been 9 years

The world will shock you if you go outside

        I do that’s why I don’t need a 5k tv, those spending 5k probably don’t.

        • +2

were you inside or outside when making a comment relating to a product that you don't relate to while trolling ozbargain. Shocking how some waste their time.

Back to the TVs, the Sony A80j or a90J on their edu site is a much better buy

            @tman2020: Couldn’t help yourself eh

          • @tman2020: They are very similar in most respects and 99% of people would be thrilled with either. I have the C1 because i could not justify the price difference when i did my comparisons. For a gamer, hands down the C1 is better option. If not, and price being close, i would pick the Sony. But there isn't much in it.

            • +3

              @Xizor: I agree, but currently the a80j 77" is a better buy at $4089.

the 65" A80J is even a better buy at $2459 if 77" is too big.

Very few "need" a 5k TV. Just like very few "need" that swanky car, particular pair of shoes, latest phone, or any other splurge for personal benefit. You don't not because you "go outside" but because you're not interested in it. That's fine, no need to be sour on those that are.

@Xizor: Thanks for the lesson on consumerism

What’s wrong with Ozb ppl? Someone is sharing his views but because it’s not the mainstream you flood him with negs. Right I forgot that it’s so easy to be the smart pants when nobody knows you on the internet.

  • Jb will price match, but add the shipping ontop and not include or deduct the gift card.

    • Videopro shipping is more expensive, least to VIC.

  • I would buy at $4k

      Buy the Sony.

      • C1 is little better - freesync + low lag

        • Sorry I meant that the sony is or was on sale for $4079 delivered from Sony. But you need a .edu address

  • Waiting for the G1 77 to drop closer to $5k, and i'm in. Anyone heard when the C2/G2 will be coming out though?

    • I asked at JB this week, they said they were still ordering in the C1's. The guy thought maybe availability in June (but he was just guessing)

      • Apparently it was supposed to be April, but the fact no one in store knows means likely not.

Sony 77 inch OLED for $4079 delivered. Just need a edu email.

  • I had the sony 65" oled. Took it back. Sound was great, picture was fanastic, but only at night.

OLED is simply unusable as a TV in daytime if you've got any kind of window at all. It's only passably bright in a blacked out room. It's bad. Like seriously bad in daytime.

QLED is functional 24x7 and almost as good at night. Cheaper too.

Easy choice for me. Skipping OLED until the next gen, micro led etc.
