  • How good is this thing compare to my spinning mob set? Where to buy extra pads for replacement?

    • AZAU have replacement pads on sale currently.

    • +5

Flat microfibre mops are a lot more efficient in terms of dirt removal.

  • Intrigued, on the lookout for a mop! Bought a steam mop recently but it's okay for small stuff but nothing major.

    • +1

Depends on the steam mop, we have a lot of polished dark Tassie oak wood floors. If you use a wet microfiber like this deal it will streak, but the steam mop is magic and i wouldn't use anything else.

    • Delivery? Obviously free with Kogan 1st right? Yep free nice.

    • +2

In the cart it says "GOMINIMO Microfibre Flat Mop Set with 2 pads - Beige", so not sure which you'd end up getting.

      • -1

Sounds like a lottery someone needs to test.

        • +1

I've submitted an enquiry to Kogan.

I'm also on live chat to azau directly to confirm.

      • +1

        Good pickup.

Looking at the MPN code the Kogan one matches the azau.com.au one. Chances are you'll only get 2 pads then have to mess around with Kogan to get a refund

I ended up buying this with 10 pads for $20.65 with coupon (PAPR17): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/313937051199?ssPageName=STRK%3AM…

There is also this unit with 10pads and a scraper for $25.95: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/284366122616

    • +1

Confirmed with the azau customer service that the Kogan one is two pads only.

Missed out on the deal sadly.

  • +5

I just know this is going to end up on FB marketplace or the front yard for 'free'.

    Bought one anyway.

    • +5

The environment thanks you for your planned waste.

  • +1

Tempted but the bucket looks very small? The dimensions are about the footprint of half an A4 paper

    • In other words, A5…

      • +1

Yeah correct… But I figured everyone was familiar with an A4 sheet of paper more so than A5

the missus bought one of these (different brand i think, but same kind of product) from an infomercial a while ago, and i completely face palmed at the fact that she:
    1. Bought anything at all from an infomercial, and;
    2. Bought a cheap-looking mop that looked like it did the same job as any other mop.

However, we were both very pleasantly surprised at how good it was. It really makes mopping the house much more efficient and easy.

The only thing that would;ve made it a much better product was if the quality of the materials used was better. The product feels a little flimsy, but it does do the job very well.

Dont know about this particular brand, but i would recommend the one i got.

    • +4

That must have sucked for you to grin and bear her infomercial success

      • +3

for real. she plays the "i told you so" card every time we use it.

        • +1

You will hear that for the rest of your life :)

          • +2

            @DrScavenger:

            rest of your life

And that's why scientists say that husband die before wife..

        • Stop using it. You can't bear the bullying any more, she'll have to do the mopping herself

    • Where would you even watch infomercials nowadays? Honestly curious.

      • +2

On free to air tv there's a couple of dedicated channels that serve up 24/7 infomercials

        • +1

Yeah. How they exist I've nfi.

      • +3

she was waiting for a dental appointment and it was playing in the lobby TV LOL

    • Is that you, Tim Shaw from Demtel?

this is what we we use. Similar design, different brand. I find it better than round mobs as dirty and clean water does not mix up.

  • Are the microfiber mop pads washable for repeated uses?

    • You can put it in washing machine, but it does loose some of the fibers overtime.

  • I've got something similar (from Aliexpress) and am happy to report that it's a pretty good mop. The microfibre pads are washable and do a good job on the floors. The water capacity is small, but you don't really need a lot of water.

You dip the mop into the water section a few times, then push it through the squeezing side. Very easy, an more stable then you'd think it would be. Makes mopping quick and easy, even for small spills. You can push the mop through the squeezer more times if you don't want to drench the floors.

After you've finished, you just pull out the rubber plugs next to the sink, then run water through each side to clean it out. I no longer use the spin mop!

The con for me though is the mop handle. It's a bit on the short side and feels a little flimsy.

    • Got a link to the one on ae?

  • I bought the same ones from Ali express. They are ok but with the caveat that the plastic(on the handle) can be brittle and I broke it in the first 15 mins of use.

I did contact the seller and they gladly sent the stick again. I now use it with more care but seems to working well. Have used about 3 times with the new one.

  • Have been using similar for >1yr.
It is good but after a while the moveable joint became very squeeky, but it is a mop so who cares if it makes noise.
Still on the first pads since new so I wouldn't bother with extra pads if I was to buy again.

    • Thanks. That's good insight.

I'm worried the actual mop or bucket will break before I get to use the 10 pads in the Kogan deal

  • Wish for something similar to clean out my robovac mop

    • +1

      Thanks.

For anyone else that didn't click through, the reviews show the pad broke after 2 days

  • Will this last 20 years like the mop grandma gave me made from wood and metal? Or would I need to keep buying parts and 'refills' for it every few months?

    • +1

No. It'll last 2 days according to the Amazon review

      • Ok, I looked at mops that look like the mop grandma gave me 20 years ago, they are all $50 plus. Why so expensive? Grandma wasn't that rich. Shouldn't quality and price go down as material science gets advanced?

        • No they're considered antiques because they are made of actual wood and steel, instead of cheap plastics and metals that break.

        • Edit. *Shouldn't quality go up and price go down

    • Your grandma gave you a mop?

      • Yes. Mop was 20 years old and I used to play with it when i was a kid.

  • +3

    Shows $38.95 now

  • A sturdier, easy-to-use alternative for twice the price: https://www.godfreys.com.au/spray-mop

    • +1

I have a spray mop, not sure about easy to use, as it collects lots of dirt and hair and hard to wash off

  • Missed out

    • That's pretty good and $10 off with Afterpay if you haven't used that particular offer.

    • Legend!
      Thank you!

    • Thanks. Got one for $14.85.

    • RIP for people that bought the deal at $20.

      • RIP ME. lol. Received the eBay one from Ozplaza, had moisture and small amount of dust and brown dirt inside as if it was a used demo model and also with a missing drain hole plug. Nice.

        • Well $5 is $5

  • We've been using this for a while now. It's pretty good. You need to make sure the pads are first correctly positioned in the end notches before securing it in place with the Velcro to stop it from coming undone when you dunk it.

It can be a little too heavy when filled, so me careful that you don't go ham or you would get water everywhere.

The "swivel" could be better but it's really light.

No wheels or anything so it requires you to pick it up and place it from section to section.

It might feel a little cheap for people.

    We're happy with ours.

Anyone got bad experience with AZAU? Tried to purchase the umbrella deal last time but the transaction timed out so purchase didn't go through, but AZAU still charged me for it anyway and they've been saying "we'll process a refund" for a whole month now yet still no refund.

  • Hey OP. just received the mop today. There were no instructions. Can't seem to figure out the purpose of the blue plastic part.

    • Probably best to reach out to AZAU. I didn't get one so I'm not sure.

    • just received mine, yes, no manual in the box and that blue part is already broken, don't even know where it goes to in the bucket

      • +1

I also got mine today. There was no manual but it wasn't all that difficult to work out.
The blue part clicks onto the side marked "Wash" with the teeth facing inwards so you can scrape the mop head against it as you insert/remove - see picture in any of the Ebay listings.
I thought I was missing a plug but ended up finding it on the floor so it must have been loose in the box.
I briefly tested it on the bathroom floor (with water) and it seems to be OK. I'll see how the dry part works tomorrow.
Not sure how long it'll last, but with 10 pads the $20.65 price I paid is not bad.
