You could be waiting a little bit. Their next plan is the pill shape abomination.

    • lol, this old chestnut

      • well at least that'd be a more interesting shape… 😅

        • Guess you haven’t seen the new Samsungs 😝

  • why not 256 hehe

  • What almost 2k for the phone? Is it that advanced

I don't condone such high prices but I guess considering Apple provides lengthy support, if you can get the phone to last 5 years which is quite likely, that's $1/day. Makes it sound a little more palatable.

      • A $1000 phone can also last you 5yrs which works out to be < 55 cents/day

My lg v20 bough in 2017 is still working in 2022.

I think I paid around $500 for this i think.

          • @xoom: Thats right. People have the misconception that non flagship or android phones cannot last past 2years. I have the s10 and it works brilliantly after 3years.

I want to buy the same model as back up since i get the dual sim, external SDcard and headphone jack with it. Best value for money.

        • You're better off buying a $500 phone every 2.5 years then you are a $1000 phone every 5 years

          • @p1 ama: I dunno, I'd wager that an iPhone 13 Pro or Pro Max will still perform better and be a better phone in 5 years time than a low-mid-range phone then does. $500 doesn't get you much phone these days. Garbage cameras, garbage screen, basically zero OS updates.

@MrFunSocks: But an iPhone 13 Pro / Pro Max are not $1000?

  • Not worth it especially when we are going into a new generation territory of a cycle with iPhone 14 Pro (pil notch allegedly)

The rumours on the iPhone 14, is that it’s going to be more expensive compared to the 13, and with tech shortages and inflation, I don’t doubt it. So for people looking at needing a new iPhone this year, this needs to be something they include in their evaluation.

Fun fact - a lot of Android phones allow you to use an SD card for additional storage ;-)

    • Fun fact - basically no flagship android phones do.

        Fun fact - you're wrong.

        Samsung Galaxy Note 20
        Samsung Galaxy S20
        Sony Xperia 1 III
        Nokia XR20
        Realme 7 5G

from a few seconds on Google.

The Galaxy Note 20 and S20 are 2 years old lol. The S21 and S22 series do not have an SD card slot.

The Nokia XR20 has is a mid range spec phone but with a budget SOC lol. It has a Snapdragon 480 in it.

The Realme 7 is again a budget/mid-range phone.

The Xperia's are pretty much the only ones that have it still, and they're incredibly expensive for what they are and are available basically nowhere.

Maybe do a bit more research next time.
