      According to the website:

We’ll pay the seller right away so they can fulfil your order.

eBay and PayPal owe you anything? You can try selling out of your garage if you like

          Not dumb. Smart

    • Are you sure about the seller getting a delayed payment? https://www.paypal.com/gi/smarthelp/article/what-is-pay-afte…

I know frozensages comment got neg'ed pretty hard but here's my situation. I'm a seller and my payments come through PayPal. 3 weeks ago, all of a sudden, my payments started going on hold for 21 days or when the item is delivered. They said it was because of suspicious activity on my account. Which is garbage. I have been trading for 10 years, zero problems with customers. Seems like a bit of a coincodence if you ask me and sucks hard if your a seller…pretty sure this is an excuse so PayPal don't have to cover the cost for 21 days.

        • Why can’t I see or use Pay After Delivery?

The Pay After Delivery (PAD) service is being discontinued and customers will no longer be able to use PAD for any new transactions from 17 June 2022.

I'm better off using a credit card with 30 to 55 days interest free.

Stack with this deal to get up to 76 days!

Unfortunately they specifically say they will deduct directly from the bank account. If they charged the credit card like BNPL services, then this would be a deal.

The entire transaction amount will be funded from the buyer's primary bank account linked to the buyer's PayPal account, even if the buyer has a balance in their PayPal account

        EDIT: Technically in the T&Cs:

If there are insufficient available funds in the buyer's primary bank account, the buyer authorises PayPal to fund the remaining amount of the transaction from any of the following sources: the buyer's PayPal account balance, credit or debit card.

But it also states you may be charged a dishonour fee by your bank, so I don't know if it's worth risking…

Never new about this. How long has this been around?

Says my account is not active enough, even though I use it pretty much every day…

    • You don't try hard enough

      • how hard would that be?

  • +8

"We're sorry, your account isn't eligible for Pay After Delivery"

    Not sure why though

    • Please see OP. Do you meet all three conditions to be eligible?

  • so what happens if u dont pay? or are late paying?

Paypal are weird with this stuff. I've always used afterpay, 2k+ purchases no problems etc etc. Go to make a 300$ purchase on paypal payin4 and they refuse it. I've used paypal for years and years so there a ton of cash flow through there. They don't seem as lenient as other providers.

I’d say Afterpay is more of a pain.

my preference is klarna… got $5 gc every $250 spent

      • Don't klarna run a credit check every time you use them though? looks bad on your credit or something?

        • not that I'm aware of…

I just refinance… my credit report looks clean… no klarna, steppay, and zippay markings

but beware of moneyme & zipmoney… this will have a marking to your credit report.

          • @thomalfa: I feel like that was the main talk on OzB when the klarna deals were going around a few months back - maybe it isn't anymore, or was just misunderstood!

            • @lulzenberg: not sure though… probably… who knows.

can't update everything… a lot is happening on the same time

God more ways for people not living within their means to wreck themselves.

SHUT UP AND SPEND! SPEND! SPEND!

      Buy the things
      You need them
      Now
      Spend
      Until you feel OK

  • Up to 21 days? So they will charge you anyway after 21 days even if package does not come?

  • +2

Worth to mention this will draw funds out of your bank account (i.e. you have to provide your BSB and A/C number) instead of you DB/CR cards.

    • +4

Yeah so no credit card points or price protection or other benefits from cc.

This is one step better than paying by debit card but a bad choice compared to paying by cc.

so paypal just holds the money in there account accumulating interest whilst saying they are offering you the added benefit of this

  • I have been using PayPal for years and I didn't know about this payment method. It seems to have never shown up or I have never noticed it ever show up on purchases.

Edit: Says your PayPal account is inactive. I literally made an $800 payment yesterday from it. Seems like this functionality is broken or maybe only works if you have your bank account linked to PayPal. I only have my cards linked.

    • Same for me and I have a bank account linked, have several monthly subscription fees and use Paypal on a regular basis for food deliveries, eBay and other online purchases, etc and it's saying my account is inactive

Have been using the same account since 2002 LOL

      • Same for me and I use it daily, way too much in fact.

It actually just says my account isnt eligible now, but first it was saying it was inactive.

    • +1

I have "a few" PayPal accounts, ironically my main account is flagged as inactive while a couple of burners can be activated for this. Seriously screwed up I think.

  • -1

that's good news play with it until it breaks than demand a full refund that they sent you shoddy items that only chose to break at 21 days after delivery- so easy!

  • +1

That's interesting. Coincides with PayPal "holding my payments" (as a seller) for 21 days and providing no specific reason why they are doing it, what so ever

    • Been using them for over 10 years but now they decided they will hold on to my money to cover any unforseen charges. Isn’t that why I have my cc on file for?

      • Yeah. As sellers you and I know they are doing this to fund this great new promotion. The sellers are paying the bill.

  • Wow 👌

  • Haha, Says my account is inactive, have sent and received close to 10k this month and joined in 2000, not that i need it…

  • Both accounts said 'We're sorry, your account isn't eligible for Pay After Delivery'

  • honestly, i would rather use their pay in 4 service then this one…

i dont like my personal bank acc to be linked to any mambo jambo
