      It's 50 though

      So tight arses

Here’s what you’ll need to apply for an Everyday Business Account:

You are an Australian resident 15 or over
You’ll need a valid email address and Australian mobile number
You must have a valid Australian photo ID (Australian driver licence, Australian passport, or foreign passport with Australian Visa)
You are a sole trader, or an Australian private company owned by individuals or single or multiple director, where at least two directors must apply for an account.

    Hmm difficult

    • Isn’t a sole trader just anyone with an ABN?

      • Yes, but if following the law to the letter one way, the other way is to create generate an ABN without the intention to need for use (paraphrased) within 3 months. You wouldn't be able to renew your ABN upon expiry, and reactivating it to do something similar 2kulr probably be where a human intervenes

        • I'm not sure but you may also need to declare the $50 as income?

  • +1

Worth it just to take $50 from scummy AMP.

    • -1

Is it if it means you give them a full set of biometrics in return?

Opening the business one is a pain in ass. They ask so many questions about your business…

    • Even the personal one asks wayyy too many questions.

    • can i use my mrs ABN ?

Providing a selfie video ID is a dealbreaker for me.

How long before the video repository is hacked? They'll have your face, voice, and ID all in one file.

      Thanks, I’m out

    • +1

That + it's almost like a ransom video (very creepy).

    • It seems that AMP Bank also does not respect the privacy of its employees:

The Finance Sector Union ('FSU') has said that AMP is trying to introduce a range new of new clauses into employment contracts, including:

      • Privacy clause that means AMP can give away the personal information of its employees to a third party. This includes using workers’ personal data for whatever suits their business needs.
      • Workplace surveillance – AMP would be able to carry out ongoing and intrusive surveillance, even at employees’ homes, with only one day’s notice.

      Source: https://www.fsunion.org.au/Hub/Content/News_and_publications…

Sounds like a fun place to work—not!

$50 is a one-time payment. Your biometric data being breached is a lifetime payment. IMHO, this promotion is very much not worth it.

  • +1

After giving all the information, now I will have to wait for them to check!

  • Is it the new AMP app? Like the ANZ split (old ANZ and ANZ Plus)?

    • Yes, it is. It's the "Engine by Starling" new powered platform.

  • +4

Pairs well with the free Square reader from the last deal giving us free transactions. 10x 1c transactions coming on up

Too much questions also not automatically appeoved like oterh bank wtf

    • yeah my business acct still pending.

  • As it is possible to have more than one business, is this $50 per ABN? Plus $50 per individual?

Oh, it looks like it is limited to $100. But unclear if it is two businesses and no individual.

  • whats the cheapest item i could buy at woolies or similar. like less than 30c per unit.

    • There is very little that is 30c at Woolies these days. Jaycar maybe an option, resistors are 65 cents, and there maybe other items at Jaycar for less.

      Capacitors 30 cents

      • How about one grape?

        • +5

          Didnt know Jaycar sold grapes.

        • Funnily enough i tried that at Coles and self service balance said invalid as it couldn't pick up the weight.

      • Buy 10 resistors it usually goes from 30c/ to 4c/, thus if you need to might as well but 10. I know mouser, element14 & coreelec are all like this

    • +9

      Just do split payment

    • +1

      Paper bags are 25 cents

    • +1

5x split payment of a $1 chocolate bar

      • This is the way!

    • Recycled paper shopping bags?

    • +2

A few almonds from the bulk nuts bin. Make sure the plastic bag weight is not included in the final weight. Should be no more than maybe 10 cents.

    • Why you didnt give matched id?

    • +2

Maybe next time use your real name!

      • +1

I think Quarter Pounder is their real name?

  • Will shopback giveaway transactions cut it?

    • -1

That's a purchase, and I doubt these are looked over by humans for transactions which may violate the TðC's which you should read. Though I wouldn't aid and abett those idiots at SB but it's a mostly free country, unless the government decides otherwise

  • How does it work if you already have an account with them? Can you cancel and re-apply?

    • duh.. imagine if everyone can…. we may see on the news AMP goes bankrupt due to a deal posted on ozb

  • I opened an account in the AMP Bank app, is that the best way to do it?

    • it is the only way.

  • It's actually a really great app by the way, it's developed by Starling bank, one of the leading digital banks in the UK. They're not adding interest till mid year though, I'm hoping it's in the main transaction account like it is in the UK, and Macquarie use to be, then it will be the best bank.

    • They've got savers like Up banking, finally a worthy contender!

Always wanted a second Up account, will be replacing my Ubank account with this one.

      • Up banned me for unknown reasons not long after their launch. Rightly pissed me off, and still can't register to this day.

        • Funny, for me it was Up Bank who was fine but Ubank who banned me upon signup.

  • can we not order the card but adding it to google pay straight and do the tapping to get $50?
i feel its a waste to get a card, obviously we all here for the 50 only and then back using macquarie/ing/ubank

Has anyone managed to navigate how to open a business account after opening a personal account? Struggling to double dip for this offer

    • Seems like amp stops this function

      • +1

They clearly said you can do both accounts but only allow to open account during sign up. Once account is approved, there is no option to create additional account.

        • I found how to do this….click on the top right icon on the front page, then there's an option to 'Open a new account'

          • @u25se: Top right has person icon but i cant locate any option to open mew account

          • @u25se: Jump on a Laptop/PC or vice versa if already there.

            • @parad0x: Just heard from AMP and 2nd account is not available for Android users via Mobile App.

              • @Ash-Say: Fair enough. Doesn't change my response, and now confirmed answer

              • @Ash-Say: Check now. Open account is available from the profile page.

        • I had the same issue. I actually do have a business and use a separate phone/mobile number/email for it. I installed the app on my business phone and continued the setup. Now I am waiting to see if it's approved.

          • @caston: update: It wasn't!

            "We're Sorry"

"We can't open an account for you."

"After reviewing your application we've decided we won't be able to offer you an account"

"Unfortunately we can't give you any specific details, but we understand that you might want to know more about how we made our decision"

Ironically I did have a use for the business account. I since have actually found the option to create another account from inside the app but I won't bother now.

You are mistaken. The video selfie is stored on AMP's third-party identity service provider servers, not on the user's phone.

  • -1

is this the same as AMP Access acoount?

    • No. Read the AMP website for more info

  • Thanks OP.

  • Has anyone who applied recently been approved? The review time changes over time and becomes longer and longer.

    • Applied yesterday - the approval waiting time was showing as 20 hours - however got approved within an hour of my application being sent.

      • Mine is 3 days.

  • Applied this morning, approved just now.

Can't add card to apple wallet though, get some error

  • +1

Google wallet is fine, added before the physical card arrives

  • and still waiting for approval

  • The account is not PayID/Osko enabled. St George says it will take 2 days for the money to reach 🤦🏽‍♂️

    • Mine from anz plus was instant

    • Mine from Westpac was also instant

    • -1

Seems like St George holds transfers for a few days for new accounts 🤦🏽‍♂️

  • I've made my 5 card transactions, paying myself via stripe. No eftpos on the card :(

  • +1

Made 5 transactions via Google pay too. Waiting to see how long it will take to get the $50

    • Does it not say it needs to be tap payments?

      • +1

I meant tap at woolies via google wallet*

  • How easy is it to close this account?

  • Approved after 3 days

  • The app is excellent, very well throughout. Mite even rival Macquarie Banks app.

Applied for a personal account, approved same day. Transferred $5 + split payment at Woolworths 5 x $1 a self service checkout. You could do this with $1 in theory.
Applied for a business account, approved in like 10mins. I don't even have a business. Said I was an spiritual healer providing professional services that I copied + pasted from some website lol.

    Hopefully I get $100

    • but don't they need you to provide the ABN?
