  • I was waiting for a deal and then literally bought a replacement band yesterday for $16. Couldn't help myself, got this as well. OzB life…

    • +1

How accurate is the blood oxygen sensor?

      • +3

Treat it as an indicator! It's better than nothing right!

    • +1

I'll wait for the band 7 while I am still using the band 4! Hope it would be a big update

  • Is this the global version, or CN? Tempted to buy.

    • CN Version has English so only the packaging would be different.

      • Hmm there is no change to NFC or something? I cant remember what it was but there was a discussion about something being available on Global version VS Cn version?

        I have it in cart

        • +3

Neither have NFC payment in AU if that's what you mean.

        • +1

As sk3iron mentioned the NFC payments on the global NFC version are not available in Australia. Only in China/Europe.

        • Thanks guys! Was not sure the main differences from CN to Global - I guess it is just packaging

  • would this fit a childs wrist? normal size

    • +7

Mine goes down to around 17cm circumference.

So you might need to look for a smaller replacement band.

      • +10

an actual helpful response from @jv.. wish i could upvote this more than once

        • +1

I do have to agree with you @supasaiyan. This is not something you see often. Thanks @jv

    • Measure the child's wrist and check the specs?

    • I'd suggest 5 and up

    • I bought MI Band 5 for my 7 yo, it fit ok for him

    • Depends on the wrist - you may need a new band - there are replacement bands with velcro that may work better.

    • My kids wear it, 7 and 9 year Olds, no issues

    • I tried lots of bands for my primary aged kids. A problem with the mi-bands is that the core unit that snaps into the band is quite large/chunky relative to a 5-8yo wrist.
I ended up having to choose between the Fitbit Ace 2 and whatever the Garmin equivalent is and then threaten the kids with extreme doom if they dared take it off at school and lost a $100+ device.

      • Like what @bargainshooter have suggested. I also do recommend the velcro replacement band for children, the smallest wrist size is as little as 15cm.

I have been getting mine nylon sport loop for AU$1.29 - $2.26 at AliExpress

  • The Mi Band 7 will be released soon…

    • Might as well continue the set from 3,4,5,6…

      • -1

I heard they are changing the shape (wider) and it will be always on.

        • +1

The Mi Band has always promised really strong battery life and it sounds like things are going to get even better too if the rumoured changes are to be believed. According to MySmartPrice, who spotted the Mi Band 7 had popped up on Belgium's SGS-CEBEC website and the Indonesia telecom website, the new Band will be packing a 250mAh capacity battery.

That's a significant jump up from the 125mAh one featured in the Mi Band 6, which promised up to two weeks of battery life.

Also some new modes as well - might just buy this 6 and buy 8 later on

          • @agalea101:

That's a significant jump up from the 125mAh one

Yes, it is believed it will have an always on display and be a bit wider.

          • -1

@agalea101: Always on & larger screen uses more battery. The previous versions lasted 3 weeks. More features less power (similar to Android - more functionality than iPhone with less performance).

Buy 6 and monitor your heart rate while waiting for 7 release.

      • I already have the 5.

        • I bought a 6 for my Mrs last Hekka offer and then a week ago a 5 for myself after I lost my previous 5.
5,6 or 7? I'm late 50's and just want the PAI (Get off your arse slacker) system. It is great for motivation IMO.

          • @Filbert: The 7 most likely will be a bit bigger (wider) and have an 'always on' display, so I'm going to wait to see what it looks like and what the price is before deciding…

            • @jv: buy the 7 for double the price or buy the 6 around this price. 7 is a no brainer if you have the budget for it. I have a 6, it's fine.

              • @sim36:

buy the 7 for double the price or buy the 6 around this price

you don't know what price the 7 will be, or which vouchers/discounts can be redeemed.

6 will drop in price once 7 is announced…

I bought the 5 for $15 when 6 was released.

          • +1

@Filbert: Agree PAI is the biggest motivator as an "as a whole" indicator rather than all the discrete readings. I swapped my Mi Band 6 for a GTS2 Mini, and that's been great because of the built in GPS (my main activity is outdoor cycling). PAI drives me to get out and about as I see it starting to drop. Battery is about 2 weeks compared to the longer life on the Band 6 though.

Of course whichever you get, PAI is based on heart rate, so the more accurate the heart rate monitor, the more meaningful PAI is, however as long as it's consistently inconsistent, it's about relatives not absolutes :)

The age old argument of should I wait for the next model… The rate at which these get released the 10 will be out soon. They're cheap enough though you can pass this onto to a family member or friend, it's not like we're talking about a $1k phone that will suddenly take a dive in price when the new model comes out.

      • don't they release a new model every year? so yes I would expect them to release the model 10 in three years time.

      • The age old argument of should I wait for the next model…

Except they are usually released this time of year, so why not wait a few weeks?

I would expect the 6 will drop in price, especially of the new model has a very different look.

  • worth it to upgrade from 5?

  • I've got the second version. Have these improved enough to be used now? Are the tracking accurate?

    • The second version as in the Mi Band 2? They've changed a lot since then, full colour screens that take up the whole front, improved battery, more/new features, etc. Definitely a step up from the original Mi Band and the 2nd and even 3rd iterations.

I purchased from this store a few months ago, the band was faulty and not tracking steps. I've spent a full month of emails back and forth including videos and pictures as evidence, still not able to get it fixed or replaced. I literally have been in circles with their support, so have given up. My neg is purely for the store and their after sales help. This is a great price and the likelihood of a dud band is incredibly low, but its always a risk when purchasing from overseas.

      sounds like buyer beware

      • +2

Doesn't payment via PayPal reduce the risk with their dispute resolution process?

    • Why are you still emailing? From experience I have found if a seller isn't helping on the first email, they won't on the 10th either.

Dispute in PayPal who will probably make you send it back but cover $15 of the return postage. Send them a cathartic note telling them how you feel as well.

"HEKKAMI6 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart" - is there a trick as to which colour needs to be in the cart?

HEKKAMI6 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart

    :(

  • +1

Looks like this is not working "HEKKAMI6 discount code isn’t valid for the items in your cart"

    • Same here. Even after signing up for a new account.

      • Same same

        • Bloody shame …same here

  • Can you replace the screen for these easy?

    • +3

Would probably cost more than the watch.

  • I just had a chat to someone on the Hekka site, who told me the code was not valid. When I showed him the screen grab from the site, he responded with:
"I reported this issue to our manager so we can edit the discount code. You can try again in the next 24-48 hrs.
    Thank you for your feedback"

  • Did anyone manage to get this band for $35.83 or is this another scam? Luring you to sign up and then sell your personal information.

  • -1

It has been cheaper before and for those asking it looks like people received their orders.

  • Bought a pair of the version 6 from last deal (China versions). Once they synced to phone they switched to English. Easy.

Average battery consumption is 5% per day based on: Set for 1 min heart rate monitoring, daily workout tracking + active heart rate monitoring, assisted sleep tracking on, max screen on (10 secs per tap), all day stress monitoring, app notifications push (inc SMS responses from band), daily morning wake up alarm, music control whilst on workout activity, data push to Google Fit etc.

We're very pleased with them and they get used daily for workouts and general life.

    Dislikes: (trivial)
    * Screen sensitivity in shower (regardless if set for double tap or swipe up) as it seems sometimes a hot shower and water splashes seems to wake it up and trigger.

Otherwise we're very happy with it. Would buy it again. Bargain for the coin spent IMHO.

    • If you use the notify for mi band app there's an option for shower lock. Could save a bit more battery if you set to track heart rate every 5 minutes like Apple watch

  • Tempted but still using the Miband3 bought years ago (for the same price!). Still going strong and hopefully holds over until 7

  • Thanks received mine yesterday.

    100% legit.
