thank you
Usually Asus and Netgear are better than TP link in performance and reliability on same level product in my experience.
Parental control and some advance features are free on the Asus router.
There are reports of the integrated Home Shield software sending all web traffic to third party servers even when not using Home Shield. Any TP-Link router with Home Shield may do this.
This is correct and it seems there is no way to circumvent this. I wish I new this before purchasing the x60 triple pack.
Performance is excellent but the Home Shield thing is really shit.
EDIT: It looks like there is now a way to prevent this. I have not validated but there is more information here: https://www.reddit.com/r/hardware/comments/tbthjj/psa_newer_…
don't worry it's just a small bug in the software. All these worries and false news is because non-tech person doesn't understand the technical term. The home shield is pinging the external server which is not uploading anyting as everyone scare off. It's like ringing your phone number but will never be able to establish a real communication. Yes it leak your IP address to Avira, that may has concern on some for special reason, but for almost all of us nothing to be concerned.
I am a tech guy and I’d like to know how you know it’s only pinging and not sending DNS check requests (which would include web addresses being visited) to Avira?
is this good value compared to that $279 rbk50? only use is for netfllix, browsing, echo devices.
Link please for tthis price. Thank you
Would this work with the Telstra 5G wireless modem (AW1000)- https://www.whistleout.com.au/Broadband/Guides/Telstra-5G-ho…
Looks like a good price.
