Spotted these at Seven Hills NSW as well.

They may be phasing them out in place of the 4 cut? Not all of the sizes were available online to confirm pricing

bunnings seem to be stocking more kango now, and a bit of full boar ….the cost of a bit more tungsten to make 4 point isn’t much in the larger and pricier drills vs 2 point hit some reo and it’s a bin job for an expensive drill bit.

        • I'd found the 4cut goes through brick without blow out so much easier when you're after a neat 25mm hole for example. But for half price you can make it work with the 2cut

@timthetoolman: @timthetoolman: 4cut also makes it easier to keep centre when starting a hole and drills through quicker. My personal experience with Hilti and Ramset bits

@ufsta: Just put the hammer drill on hammer only mode and use it like a punch down tool to mark your starting point. Then switch back to rotary hammer and it will go right in.

          • @timthetoolman: Yeah I find the same, 4 cut is much cleaner and also last longer. Mine have done over a hundred holes and they’re like new, the holes are baby smooth.

I usually get German made bits.

There's sutton strange goin on here.

  • Great price but has anyone had any issues with Sutton? I've stayed cleared of them since 2 (smaller) bits shattered on me damaging a few doors I was fitting.

Take pics when it happens, they'd want to know- and would probably make amends

As a home unhandyman, what would a 460mm bit be used for?

    • +1

Drilling holes to run conduit through slabs and walls

    • +5

      Something that a 459mm bit can't do

    • reaching brick that might have something in the way that a standard length bit couldn't reach, like a post or something in the way.

      Drilling through slabs.

      Dbl brick.

Looks like you know what you're doing with a few of them in ur kit.

    • if you have a double birch house eg old edwardian or victorian it’s about 290mm to drill through 2 bricks and plaster and cavity gap.

  • SDS Max or SDS Plus?

  • The noise it makes when drilling concrete always reminds of the dental drill on steriods

  • Got one - Thanks. I have some thick concrete walls to drill through.
