Bright Mango | 6-10.5
Hyper Turquoise | 7-11.5

With a generous 30-60 days free return policy, even after you've worn them, this is a great way to try this ultra-shoes and see if they work for your running. I've found the Alphaflys are much narrower in the midfoot than the Vaporfly Next%, which are more narrow than the Tempo Next%.

Note: these shoes are delivered from Nike International, and on check-out it will advise This is an international shipment requiring customs clearance. Delivery dates 13-29 March on the pair I checked out with.

Further discount ideas:
* $30 Cashback using Cheddar app (18% CB rate for Nike, max $30) until 17/3), effectively $229.99 (38.1% discount), even more if this is your first sign-up using Cheddar and you get the $50 sign up bonus. Combined, that would bring the shoes down to $179.99; a 48% discount.
* 10% discount for Nike members on/around their birthday, thanks @gimli for the heads up!
* Combine with TCN Him Network Gift Cards at 10% off to bring the price down potentially to $233.10 if you can find these shoes in-store, as these TCN gift cards can only be used in-store with Nike.
* 3% Cashback via ShopBack/Cashrewards.

Happy PB chasing!

good suggestions re cash rewards etc.
There is also a birthday discount ~10% if you are a member

    • Different colourway on discount in December I believe.

Thanks for the tip re: birthday discount - I've added that to the post.

      • You're part of a community helping to build the future of sport, but this month it's all about you. Here's 10% off full-price items* for you

I think nike birthday discount is not eligible for sale items.

Will these work for the walk to the Bottle shop ?

    • not really, they are specifically running shoes. Awkward for anything else except a walk back to the car from the track.

    • +1

      haha ur so funny

  • good for short people

    • how many cm is classified as short for a male?

      • Anything less than 15 cms.

    • +3

      did someone call?

  • couldnt get the code CHEDDAR to work sadly…

    • +1

It's not a code. It's a Cashback through the Cheddar App. https://www.getcheddar.com.au. I've updated the description accordingly - thanks for bringing this up.

Bonus - you'll also get $50 cashback for your first purchase through this app, so a total saving of $80!

  • has this been banned in marathon running?

    • -1

Correct, since 2020 for elite racing. Vaporflys cut it, but alphas are out.

      • so this still has that carbon plate in the middle i take it?

      • +5

I think you are thinking of another version (?original) of the alphafly.
These ones are less than 40mm stack height which current rules for stack height.

Product details says meets world athletics requirement.s

        • +1

          I stand corrected! Thanks!

    • +1

Kipchoge won the Tokyo Marathon today in Alphas so they are race legal on the road. No good for the track, not that you’d want to run a track race with shoes that have this stack height.

    What are thoooooose?!

    • The TNs of the running world.

  • How many seconds will I shave walking from my house to bus stop?

    • It really depends if you are Kath or Kim.

  • Has anyone ever used Chedder before and actually received the cashback? It all looks a bit fake to me?

    • I finally withdrew my $50 sign up bonus Feb 22 after my first purchase on December 22. So 2 months to clear.

      • +1

Thanks, so I guess they just wait a long time before adding the credit to ensure you do not return the items. I might give it a go on this deal then.

    • Purchased something using Cheddar last month. Didn’t track on the app. Support said they could see my purchase, and asked me not to worry and to wait a week. Didn’t appear after a week, wrote to support again with proof of purchase, and they credited the CB amount a couple of days later.
Withdrew it the next day and got credited to my bank the following day.

Wouldn’t recommend running in these as a daily trainer, my right ankle is pretty stuffed after a month using them but YMMV

Also good shoe but been around this price for a while though on Nike AU the Chedder deal I didn’t know about so upvoted

    • +1

This shoe is reserved for race pace attempts I’d say. The rear is 100% ZoomX foam (no react foam) and there’s not a lot of support when doing flat-footed running on easy days.

      • What would be “one step down” for more serious run days, but not just “race” days? Vapor’s?

        • +1

If I had infinite funds I would run in Vaporflys every session. From Parkruns to intervals, marathons and tempo runs. For those Z2 easy runs at a slow shuffle id want something a little more forgiving. The tempo next%s are good for this as they have a large component of that sweet, sweet ZoomX foam, but with the structure of React Foam on the rear deck for that extra bit of stability when my form isn’t as good.
I’m burning through Tempo Next% pairs between 250-700km (so weird!) as my all rounder shoes at the moment (on my 4th pair now).

          • @yojabbajabba: Cheers for the reply - last time I went looking for a suitable pair of Vapor's, I was a bit confused/overwhelmed by the versions and options.

Is there one current version and link or store you'd recommend to buy them?

            • +1

@Tuttle: There are three version of the VF: 4% Flyknit (the original), VF Next%, VF Next% 2 (current) in a whole bunch of colourways, and no width variations.
There’s something to be said about getting the fit right. I’d recommend going in store to get the right fit on the VF shoes (as opposed to ordering 3 with +/-0.5 sizes and returning the non-fitting ones). For such a shoe I believe you need to get the ones that are the right size so you make the most of the performance. Too small, hello smashed toes; too large and goodbye front-foot push-off efficiency - like running with skis on.

  • Should I buy this for walking average 1.5hrs daily?
    If not, any recommendation? Thanks.

    • Definitely not for walking. The carbon plate in this will make your ankles think you’re walking with a pogo stick.
Plenty on the market in the ‘cloud-like’ space - ASICS Nimbus, Adidas Ultraboost, Nike Pegasus etc.

    • I'd say no too, yet I use my Zoom Tempo Next % (similar to these - less cushion) running shoes for walking too and they're great. I prefer them to pegasus and my old ultraboosts for walking.

Comfort of shoes is very individual, go try them all on first.

  • FWIW I ordered my pair on 6/3 and they got delivered on 18/3 from BELGIUM out of all places!
Took them for a spin (3x10’ intervals) and the sizing is perfect! Worthy investment in my books.
