      Good for you mate!

      • +12

I'm waiting for Coles & WW merch so I can show everyone how much I love their fake half price bargains.

        • +1

          Don't give them any ideas!

        • "Is supermarket merch half price this week at Coles?"
"Nah, its Woolworths' turn - Coles is half price next week"

    • +5

      Don’t get out much?

    • +1

All those t shirts and hats that you thought were Quicksilver, they are actually Aldi.

    • +2

Each to their own, some people must be excited for it, but it's not for me, and I've only ever seen one person out in public wearing it. However the demand must be there if they've brought it back for another year.

      • +3

if anyone is that keen, just get a neck tattoo and be done with it

        • …I shouldn't have googled this. Imagine getting the tattoo just before Aldi updated their logo, ouch!

      • Can't people just wear these at home?

    • your mum wears it

      • +1

Not just his mum, why do you think he's trying to kill the hype? He wants less competition when he goes to get them more matching sets. There's no point coming to the deal and commenting if you aren't interested. Think about it…

    • they must have managed to offload all their stock last year

    • +4

I'll be wearing my Oldi shirt on merch day

      • I have this tshirt and it never fails to get a laugh

    What makes this a bargain?

    • +6

      @ ALDI

    • +21

      What makes this a bargain?

      Special Buys
We will refund or replace any non-grocery specials within 60 days. Please provide your original receipt (or other proof of purchase), ideally with packaging, when you return the item to us.

      • -6

Given all of that, this is the normal price and conditions though. So it's not a bargain.

Unless you can find a retailer selling Aldi merchandise for more?

        • +1

Aldi is the exception to 'RRP isn't bargains' around here. A few who are particularly passionate about it will stalk your posts and attack you.

Expect the same attacks when you find they've negged you. Further proof that Aldi is the exception.

          • +1

@Clear: ALDI isn't the only exception. Kmart/Target Anko RRP and BIG W regular prices have also been posted here. However ALDI's Special Buys are only available once a year with limited stock which could be perceived to be more of a "bargain".

These non-ALDI RRP items were posted here:

            • +3

@trixieb: Thanks for taking the time to answer the question, instead of being triggered like many others can be 🤝

            • +1

@trixieb: I agree with what you're saying. Normally the special buys can be compared to like for like products though. Some examples are pool chemicals, lawn mowers, other gardening equipment, fridges, kitchen items, fitness etc etc. There's always a comparison or reference point on pretty much anything.

This seems different because it's just advertising Aldi merch.

Also, I don't really care, I was just bored when I asked. I'm grateful for all the bargains that people post.

            • +1

@trixieb: Thanks for agreeing. There are exceptions to the normal price isn't bargains. Not everything has to be a cheaper price.

          • @Clear: Wow, so many negs lol. I actually do my shopping at Aldi, but also don't mind answering questions about them. It seems not everyone is the same 😆

            • +1

@TheJoker: Yup told you so. There are exceptions to RRP isn't a bargain. Unfortunately those neggers seem to disagree to the fact. Fortunately trixieb has provided them with evidence.

              • +1

@Clear: @TheJoker I had asked the same question privately about posting at RRP. It seems anything perceived to be good value can be posted, even at RRP. I posted this offer as it seems to be popular when it was posted a year ago. The prices have remained the same except for one item. IKEA merchandise is also posted here. Both ALDI and IKEA seem popular on OzB and their merchandise at RRP appear to be accepted for posting.

I've only been posting offers regularly for less than a year so fairly new and still learning. Although I signed up to OzB years ago, I haven't checked OzB or active for the most part.

I'm not an ALDI customer and don't participate in many of the offers I post. I probably wouldn't recognise it's ALDI merchandise if someone wore it (without ALDI written on it) 😂

            • +1

@TheJoker: The record for negs in Jan was -150. You are not quite there yet 😆

          • @Clear: It's quite funny because for the last year or two it's basically impossible to actually get the deal posted because it's delayed or limited stock or not in your state.

But then again I have the same issues with the damn eBay and AliExpress vouchers…

        • +4

Given that everything has increased in price since 1 year ago, and these Aldi merch hasnt (apart from 1) when it probably should/could have, it's a bargain if one wanted these merch.

  • +29

    Cheap form of contraception/protection.

  • +10

I remember when I was a kid , and you got given store branded clothing for free as it was for promotional reasons for the store, now people pay to be a walking billboard .

    • +3

isn't that true for all brand name clothing and shoes and accessories

      • +1

        Uniqlo FTW. Mostly no branding

        • -1

bland styles and colours are a giveaway someone is wearing Uniqlo

  • +12

Shouldn't ALDI be paying us for advertising?

    • +10

Yes they should have done some smart marketing where if you spend over a certain amount you get free merch.

  • +6

    @Jimothy Wongingtons

I’d unironically wear one to do my usual Colesworths shop

Now is your chance to grab that Aldi tracksuit!

    • +4

Perfect outfit to highlight his upcoming gold Bulova Super Seville.

      • +3

Still waiting for a good price… always excluded from flash sale since I posted it that one time sigh

    • +2

      OH HELL YEAH!!!!!

    • +2

      ADAASB?

      • +1

The board rejected the submission for only being 6 letters, I have resubmitted ADAAQSB on your behalf.

I'll add this learning to my KPIs, on my PIP.

Merch noone wants is not a bargain

  • +1

Im excited. Still rocking the slides from last time, they are very good quality, comfortable, and slightly discrete, and i think only $8. Might have to get some non-discrete socks to go with.

  • Normal, they came in white with lairy Aldi colours, but i got in plain blue.

  • I still got their down jacket from 3 years ago. $40 and it actually has 100% down, better than 70% from most of the high end brands

  • +3

I just struggle to see how this is a good deal.

$15 to promote ALDI or $14 for unbranded hoodie from Big W?

    https://www.bigw.com.au/product/allgood-men-s-basic-hoodie-b…

I'd rather save a dollar, not have branding, and be able to buy more whenever I feel like it, instead of once or twice a year.

    • Having the name "ALDI" increases the value of the hoodie by at least $1.25

      • Of course, you're right. Therefore this Hoodie should be $15.25 instead of $14.99.

Still, that's only a (0.26/14.99*100) 1.7% saving. It's still hard to call this a bargain.

  • eshays rejoice!

    • +2

You have never seen an eshay if this is what you think they are wearing.

      • +2

obviously you have been hanging out with the wrong, uncool, crowd

  • How are the trackies? I don’t give a (profanity) about brands or whether they say Aldi, but if the track pants are half decent I’ll give them a shot for $15.

  • I have a feeling they'll all end up being much cheaper later

    • Depends if the pensioners go for them or not.

  • I'm waiting on the snow sale

    • +1

i'm holding out for a "mr plow" jacket

  • +1

I went to both Chatswood Aldi stores today. They’re not available at either.

  • Shirts run large, didn't see any female shirts either. Checked two stores
