Hi all,

An excellent great price for the top version of instant pot. This model is not currently sold in Australia which is quite disappointing as it replaces several appliances in one go. Don't forget cash rewards

Instant Pot Pro 10-in-1 Electric Multi Functional Cooker - Pressure Cooker, Slow Cooker, Rice Cooker, Steamer, Sauté, Sterilizer, Yogurt Maker, Sous Vide - Black Stainless Steel, 1200 W, 5.7L

Can't a pressure cooker do most of those functions?

    • How would a pressure cooker sauté?

      • +2

Generally with the lid off is a good idea.

      • +3

Many electric pressure cookers have a sauté function.

  • What functions does this have over the instant pot duo nova?

    • +1

One function i noticed the Duo Nova doesn't have is Sous Vide

      • 5.7L is pretty small for sous vide though.

  • How does this compare to Tefal Cook4me? I have Tefal for about 10 years and very happy with it, but it starts to fail due to its age. I was going to get another Cook4me as a replacement.

I am not interested in a slow cooker or Sous Vide and have Kenwood KCook for sauces or anything that needs dicing and stirring… Just need a good pressure cooker for rice, buckwheat and steaming.

    • How does this compare

For one thing it has a stainless inner pot with encapsulated base. That’s reason enough to love it in my book.

      • Cook4me has ceramic coated pot. It is very good. Less sticky than stainless as well.

        • I've no experience of ceramic coatings but any kind of coating has to be subject to wear

          • @0jay: My KCook has stainless… You are right, it lasts forever (theoretically, unless you overheat it) but while ceramic lasts it is a better user experience. You can get around 5-8 years depending on how careful you are and what you cook.

            • @Musiclover: I'm willing to believe it's nice to use.

  • This or Breville Fast Slow Pro?

    • +1

The Breville sounded really good and is apparently able to build up to quite a high pressure for an electric pressure cooker. And other good features.

I bought one, and it failed on me. Some kind of inability to properly seal in order to start building up pressure. I got it replaced by TGG without issue, but the second one failed with the same problem.

I reluctantly replaced it with a Philips, which has worked without any problems.

In short, I do like Breville (I have a Dual Boiler coffee machine and a fan), but I was disappointed by the Fast Slow Pro.

      • able to build up to quite a high pressure for an electric pressure cooker

Do electric pressure cookers usually produce less pressure than stove top ones?

Edit: I googled it - yes.

    • +1

I recently bought the Instant pot duo nova one. So I did some research before buying. From what I could find Breville one reaches 11.6psi (80Kpa). Duo Nova use a sensor to toggle between 10.2 and 11.6psi on High pressure. If the information is accurate Breville one doesn't seem much different. I went with Instant pot considering price & availability of cheap genuine spare parts or accessories. Amazon had accessories on sale at the time so got extra pots & silicone sealing rings as well.

  • +1 for the Black Stainless Steel and black LCD screen design

    • Matches my TV and its soundbar.

Doesn't match my pots and pans though.

      • Don't wash your pots and they will colour match.

  • The handles on the pot are a unique and (apparently) very good feature. Automatic sealing and well designed steam release too. Have been tempted but have too many appliances that do all of the functions already.

  • I'm not in the market for one but have in the past considered getting the Ninja Foodi 8-in-1. This one works as an:
    Pressure Cooking
    Steam
    Slow Cook
    Sear/Saute
    Air Crisp
    Bake/Roast
    Grill
    Keep Warm

    Hope this helps :)

Yeah nah. Waiting for this one to hit our shores

    • Whoa… I was convinced to buy this Instant Pot, but then clicked on your link.

That Ninja model looks incredible! Add me to the list of people waiting.

I suppose no real option to buy now due to voltage differences? Not sure if there is a UK model and an option to just swap out the cable/plug. I’ll take a look.

So the US model is OL701. The UK model looks to be OL750UK. So the UK model would have the right voltage (just need to check if the power cable is removable, to swap for a diff plug). But v expensive…

      • Sorry didn't check the notifications. Yeah was in the market and then saw that and thought gotta wait for that. Lol
