Acer Aspire Z3760 "All-in-One" (2nd Gen i5, 4GB RAM, 21.5" Full-HD, TV, 1TB HD, 512MB Vid) - $699

180

I'm not usually a fan of all-in-ones, but with a decent CPU, TV-tuner, and decent-size full-HD screen, I must say this is pretty good. Looks nice too. Free delivery.

It has $800 off, which appears to be a legit discount because the undiscounted model also shows, and an inferior model (z1801) is priced at $998. So it's a 53% discount.

  • Price in title please or at least in the description. It's $699.

Sorry about that. I was just editing it, but you beat me to it :)
I was so pre-occupied with abbreviating the specs that I forgot about the most important bit.

  • Is this worth buying?? Is there any downside for it??

    • +2

It depends on your usage. For most non-gamers it would be pretty decent — all in ones don't usually take upgrades asides from RAM and HDD.

  • not bad actually

  • +1

i would imagine from the designs of all these all-in-one desktops it would be a pain to open it up and fix it if need be… (i.e. getting to the screen or accessing the motherboard etc).

i reckon if ur not covered by warranty and take it to a computer repair place they would charge more to open it than a normal desktop tower…. not sure though, but wouldnt be surprised.

Can anyone confirm this? i would like know.

    • +1

Shops would probably charge you the same rate as fixing a laptop.

    • I think repairs would be equivalent to repairs for a laptop. Frankly, I would not be prepared to spent more on a machine just so that repair costs are lower if it breaks out of warranty.
Normally I don't think these things are great because of difficulty in upgrading or "self repairs", but at this price, and with a large-ish fullHD screen and TV-tuner, it seems much better value than usual.

  • I am also guessing this is NOT touchscreen?

    • +1

Ive got a Dell all in one PC at home with touchscreen feature. NEVER use it! touch or not touch… useless feature.

      • I have the same one and never used touch screen. Once I noticed that my computer started behaving strangely like windows closing and text got highlighted on its own. Then I noticed a fly on the screen causing all this. LOL.

    • +1

      NO.
      1. Touch screen on Desktop has never been good, ever
      2. if you must have touch screen, get a tablet

  • @O.P
I want to put in more RAM myself and a bigger capacity HDD.
    would this All-in-one allows that?

    • +1

My best guess would be "yes", but you may have issues with re-installing the same Windows license (pre-installed OEM) unless you know how to clone the hard-drive properly. As for RAM, it would be hard to imagine they'd make it hard to upgrade.

      • Thanks O.P

        update:
has asked DickSmith and they confirmed there is an easy to open panel for replacing RAM
        HDD is harder.

not sure about buying it now

  • Anyone know the physical size?

Also, how many usb ports & 2.0 or 3.0?

Asked Dick but no answer yet

  • They look so tempting to 'accidently' knock them over. A simple fall from a table would most likely crack the monitor and do significant damage to the internal componentry. My mate has a wimpy Apple all in one machine that is sitting precariously atop a dodgy bedside table with wobbly legs. I keep telling him that it is going to fall off and break one of these days(not my interference). So moral of the story : if you buy one of these machines, get suitable furniture because they will be sitting atop your desk all day.
