Much prefer the bars tbh - cookies are pretty dry in comparison.

Double choc chunk is the best.

I tried the cookies and cream bars a while back. Pretty disappointing… Particularly for how much hype quest bars usually get.

There's way better protein bars out there these days with far better taste and texture

      • +9

I thought the same… I bought the hype on Quest and nearly ordered a few boxes but glad I only got one.

The one I had was like eating sickly (artificially) sweetened clay and I could barely finish the box.

      • Recommendations? Don’t leave us hanging. 😃

        • -1

I don't really have any recommendations as I don't really eat protein bars, much prefer a shake or a chobani yoghurt for a high protein snack.

But on the odd occasion I'll grab a random one from 711 or something as a snack and they're pretty much all better than the Quest bars I've tried. I like the "crunch" style protein bars a lot more, much better texture as it doesn't feel like a slab

        • BSN Protein Crisps were my go to. Taste's like an LCM.

      • They've actually changed the ingredients in the last year or two.

Now they add erythritol. They never used to have any sugar alcohols but I'm guessing the corn fibre based ingredients they used to add are to expensive or lower shelf life.

        Pretty disappointing really

Erythritol is very expensive. It's like 20 bucks a kg at retail. Should be adding allulose to get a more soft chewy texture but th ats even more expensive at 40 per kg. Erythritol is corn based as well.

          • @BumbaT: I actually went and looked at the ingredients in the supermarket earlier.

They are still using Oligofructose in the cookies I looked at, so I'm guessing its more to do with erythritol being the most tolerated of the sugar alcohols and they must have been trying to balance the artificial sweetness of sucralose/stevia by adding it.

There was a different range of Quest bars (filling based like a milky way/bounty) that used allulose but they had terrible reviews because people were having serious stomach issues with them (myself included though I'm too lazy to post reviews on iHerb).

Yup 100%, I came on a couple of times and tried to inform people about other options but a couple of people got a bit agro about it so i dont bother anymore but really Quest bars are not that great compared to some other options out there. At the end of the day you need to be with an item that you can somewhat enjoy / can be a valid replacement for sweets or other items you are tempted to eat so that you will always reach for the protein bar over the junk item.

    Woolworths has both flavours at the same PP1 ratio, 2$;

    EDIT;

been to woolies, almost all protein bars are 50% off.
Bought a quest smores, really terrible.

Just be warned the thick artificial taste might not suit everyone. Atkins Low Carb Hazlenut Crisps are better IMO.

    • Thanks, these are on special for around $1 per bar so I bought 2 boxes to try.

        The hazelnut crisps are addictive.

        high in fat though

Can vouch, Bought a quest smores jsut now, really terrible.

Agree 100%. Very average artificial sweet flavour with a bitter chemical aftertaste.

These quest cookies are awesome, recommended!

    • Yeah defo my faves. I eat them while necking a 1L Complete Dairy. Match made in heaven and 75g protein all at once.

  • Eh I'll stick with Subway's cookies

    • Try the Woolies white choc and cranberry. 5 for $2.50
But you don't buy them for the health benifits 😁

    • Agree. Subway's cookies taste better than this one.

These were a huge disappointment last time I had them, pretty much just a round flat quest bar, which are already terrible.

  • They just conveniently leave out the fat content in their marketing.

  • I prefer the BSC protein cookies.

  • The price is not bad but the taste is no good.

  • What even are these? I can’t even pronounce half the ingredients. Just have the real thing in moderation.
