Hi anyone who knows if you work from home and gets 2x below $300 screen, can claim back both in full?

    • +1

I claimed 1 below $300 monitor last year. 2 will be fine I think.

    • +1

Last year I bought 2x $299 on the one invoice. Accountant claimed both as they were each under $300.

      • Does this apply if one is a sole trader?

        • -1

Does this apply if one is a sole trader?

Sole trader you can claim a lot more not just monitors, like car, computer, laptop any related to your work.

Hope S2722QC will be $369 again tomorrow

    • It's $499 now so I guess it will be *0.8 = $399 tomorrow?

      • not too bad, just hoping they could match the previous low.

      • +1

        It will be $399.

  • +1

how about S3221QS? any one been using it?

    • I’ve been using it!

  • Was keen on the s3222dgm. Then I saw the previous prices for other Dell sales for this screen.

~$450ish in the past but tomorrow's price will be ~$560. Ugh. Always too late to the show.

    • +1

This is price before the 20% discount.

      • Ahh.. thanks. I was going off rrp $699 less 20% (down to $559).

If current $559 has an additional 20% off tomorrow, then excellent!

        Thanks for clarifying.

    • How does the DGM stack up with the S3422DW?

      • Can't say, yet, or possibly ever as I dont have the s3422DW. However, I do have the xiaomi 34.

What differences/comparisons are you wanting to know though?

I got then 32 because I wanted to play console games which only work in 16:9. I play PC games on my 21:9 though.

  • I know stores generally don’t price match ebay coupons, but any possibility that JB HiFi does a similar price for S3222DGM?

  • What happened to the future is 4K?

    • Expensive GPUs, for gaming anyways.

  • so the Inspiron 15 3505 laptop will be $640 tomorrow? How long does it take to ship I wonder??

  • Any 12th gen laptops which aren’t alienwares out yet?

  • S3422DWG or Xiaomi Mi curved? Thanks

  • Dealbot, do you have much of a sense as to how pricing for the S2721QS is going to move over the next month or so?

    • Depends on AUD.

  • +1

Awww what… 1 month delivery timeframe on monitors?

    Delivery:
Estimated between Thu. 24 Mar. and Thu. 31 Mar.

    • +3

My experience last time, said one month, actually delivered in one week.

      Good luck on you

  • +3

Picked up the S3422DWG.. Really excited for this one! Though it said 'you should get it by 1 April'.. So I guess there may be a bit of a wait :'(.

    • Hi, Is this monitor a better option than the Xiaomi Mi curved?

      • +1

        Negative vote means;
        - It is not an better option or you not happy with the question?

        • +1

didn't neg, but should've said which Xiaomi you're comparing to?
and you repeat posted the same Q

          • +1

@payton: My bad. Thought there is only one version of Xiaomi curved.
            Xiaomi Mi curved 34” XM700001.
            Thanks

            • +2

@cart: I bought this last month - after reading previous threads decided it was better for my needs at this price for reliability and Dell warranty (customer support, build quality, and replacement for issues).

No experience with Xiao Mi monitors, but I have had good experiences with quality control and replacement with Dell specifically for their monitors.

Aside from the above - the Dell monitor is amazing - no regrets at all, I have it on a NB F80 arm and it is beautiful to look at for movies / gaming and efficient for work.

The only issue I have had is that it was not able to display sufficient resolution from my laptop over HDMI, I had to use the DP port.

I bought a cable to transfer video from USB-C to Display Port. No issues since.

I have upvoted all comments to spread good energies!

Good luck with whichever monitor you go with!

Regarding postage, they always overestimate the postage time. It will likely be shipped and arrive within 2 weeks, however they account for delays in their estimated delivery timeframe.

                @catdogbarglar: Thank you!

              • +1

@catdogbarglar: Hi mate. Good to hear that you're enjoying the monitor.

What USB-C to DisplayPort cable did you buy and where did you buy that from?

                  • +1

                    @catdogbarglar: Thanks mate!

                  • +1

                    @catdogbarglar: Hi mate.

                    The cable is awesome.

Mrs bought from Officeworks a Comsol usb-c to DP 8K cable which interferes my laptop's 5GHz wi-fi connection (literally instantly drops to zero everytime I plug in the cable).

I have used this for 30 mins and still haven't noticed any disruption.

                    Thanks a lot again.

                    • +1

@ckwatsydney: It's so hard keeping up with technology, I've got a couple monitors now that all seem to have different connections, VGA, HDMI, USB-C, DP, DVI….

and then you get to add the cord types and adaptors to go from one to the other, sometimes they look identical but perform differently… I'll never make fun of someone for having difficulty with technology again!

Anyway glad to hear I could help and the cable is working. Enjoy the monitor, once it is up and running it is a fantastic experience!

as a side note, here are the rtings post calibration settings I have used for this monitor - scroll down to "post calibration" for the exact settings

                      https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s3422dwg#page-to…

                      Cheers

        I have both,

Xiaomi is good, but I had flashing white issue when playimg Destiny 2, had to change to 100hz to fix this issue. Later died on me after nearly 2 years. Dont get me wrong, I like the monitor and customer service is actually really good. Since there wasnt any stock they offered me full refund and somehow gave me extra $50 lol. I would still recommended this product.

S3422DWG I think is a bit better, I got one refurbished at $450 and still 3 years warranty. BUT pls check how to calibrate the color, there was one thread in here has link to reddit, after the configuration with hdr, looks amazing.

    • +1

Its a great monitor for the price. You won't be disappointed.

    • does it really take that long?

  • @dealbot S2721DS is still at $373.75 -> $299 after discount. You have it listed at $289.

No great deals or availability on any of the popular 27" models:
    S2721Q/QS/QC
    S2721D/DS/DC
    S2721DGF

Dell deals in general just getting worse (even though dealbot did notify us), it's just not worth moving on many of these unless you're desperate for a new monitor.

    • S2721DS is $361.25 -> $289.

      $373.75 is the S2721HGF

      • Looks like they've updated it - it was definitely at $373.75 at time of post.

  • What do people make of Dell XPS 13 9305 Laptop 11th Gen i5-1135G7 FHD 512GB SSD 16GB RAM Iris Xe Win11 for $1400 after discount? Seems like a great deal to me but I'd be interested in other opinions. I was interested in i5 because I understand it has better battery life than the i7.

  • Which of the pc deals (if any) are decent?
I'm looking for a mid range gpu, like 3060ti plus or amd equiv and modern CPU and motherboard (like 12th gen i5). Any value here?

  • Nothing new for Alienware or XPS desktops, all exactly the same stick & price from last sale

    • XPS is available now

  • Hi guys, does anyone have any thoughts on this G15 for $1700?
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/324687893092?epid=20048533315&ha…

  • Any one knows how long would this 20% off last? one or two weeks?

    • usually not even a week. If you wait, you'll miss out. I regret not buying last time as prices are higher now.

      • Thank you!

For XPS desktop and the monitor (S3422DWG) I bought last time, price remains the same.

  • I wish there s a windows tablet deal. Would be awesome

  • Does the speaker on the monitor make a lot of difference for an extra $10? is the speaker quality better than using the laptop's speaker?

    Dell 27 Monitor: S2721HN Full HD 1080p 75Hz AMD FreeSync HDMI(ebay.com.au) - $229
    vs
    Dell 27 Monitor – S2721H AMD FreeSync Full HD 1920 x 1080 at 75 Hz w/ Speaker(ebay.com.au) - $239

Or for extra $30 I can get 32"….. Hmmm its hard to choose haha..
    Dell 32 Curved Monitor: S3222HS FHD 1080p 75 Hz AMD FreeSync VA w/ Speakers(ebay.com.au) - $269

    • better to have a dedicated sound system

      • What about between laptop speaker and monitor speaker?

        • Probably a very similar wattage. I'm all for monitor speakers, sometimes you just need sound and don't have the space for a dedicated speaker set

  • Bought s2722qc, estimated delivery is the end of march though, quite a bit wait

  • OP can you get C3422WE added? :)

  • Will Dell Website deliver faster than Dell Ebay?
Need to buy XPS system with 32 GB DDR5 for CAD

On dell site - $3081 after included discount (not sure if the 7% stacks from the long running deal)
On ebay sale - $2600 after discount

    Dell Site: https://deals.dell.com/en-au/work/productdetail/d3a3
    Ebay Dell: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/334335972968?_trkparms=amclksrc%…
Issue is the dell siter is 4 days delivery, whereas the ebay one is April and urgent need by early March.

Is Dell site wrong, or is it just the way they play it with ebay?

Only difference between two systems seems to be Windows Home (ebay) vs Windows Pro (Dell Site)

So it will actually be a different SKU

    • +1

Spoke to Dell site Rep… apparently it ships from some other distant factory and is 10 - 15 business days to get here. A bit unfair to say delivered in a week then.

Bought the ebay version … as mine has usually come quicker (bought about 3 dell ebay systems)… but also heard horror stories.

    • seems the power supply is only 460W, not sure enough though.

      • sadly, it is a bit of a waste of a graphics card as the GPU need is low, but needed the 32 GB DDR5 and 12th gen - no such offers for the 3060TI

        • There is another option, with 6700XT, of course you might not be interested in.

  • Anyone can recommend this S3422DWG or the Xiaomi 34?

    • +1

Big discussion here on the same question Xiaomi/Dell - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/672338 (See comments section)

It boils down to whether you would value the USB hub (I like it as it has 1x usb c, 2x USB 3.1 A ports under and 2x USB A behind the screen… but that is just me

Freesync premium seems to work well with 1070 and 3080 cards

    • Check my post above.

  • +1

What's with the end of March estimated delivery? Really going to take that long, or usually arrive sooner?

  • Is 2k on 32inch alright? I hear it’s not recommended..

    • 2k on 32inch alright?

I think people means for 32" better goes with 4k.

      • I’m currently using 32” 4K on 150% scaling… and it’s perfect for me so should I still get 2k?

        • and it’s perfect for me so should I still get 2k?

You want another one? Better the same.

  • I bought 2 if these monitors from dell a couple of weeks back at this price without the further 20% off. I contacted support to see if they will price match and they said no. Anyone have any luck with this in the past?

I did ultimately pay the discount price as I got a couple of dell advantage discounts but still worth trying.

    • Or just cancel the initial order and rebuy?

I did this with a Dell laptop purchase and they cancelled the first order for me. However that was in 2020 before covid hit (if that at all is relevant to Dell's process)

Unless of course, you've already received the monitors then I think it's at Dell's discretion

  • Thanks upper.

just bought the Dell 34 Curved Gaming Monitor – S3422DWG AMD FreeSync Premium Pro WQHD 144 Hz

A size upgrade from my current Samsung 27inch WQHD 1440p

But after completion, notice that the ebay store vs the direct website have different shipping times.

might not get it until the end of the month in March apparently

  • I am just thinking whether 32" 4K is better or 34" 2K is better for general use.

I am using LG 34" FHD.

    • It’s a matter of vertical vs horizontal estate, which do you want?

Of both then get the 38”

  • Purchased a AW3821DW but it says eta delivery is 4th of April? So they aren't actually in stock?

I purchased a monitor arm from dell website in anticipation and it arrived a few days later.

    • Did you receive your monitor?

      • +1

Yea, came on Thursday last week

        • Thanks! Glad that it does not really take so long for the delivery. :)

  • +2

Anyone after a S2722QC, hold off! I've just negotiated a deal on this plus some XPS desktops.

PS. I haven't read the comments above (I usually don't read any at all 😊).

    • Darn. Missed this. Am I able to set some sort of an alert on OzB for when you post again? I haven't tried before. I specifically want the S2722QC.

  • Anyone received their orders for the DWG monitor? Just ordered for $549 and didn’t realise the wait time was that long.

  • +1

    Got my S3222DGM 165Hz 1ms monitor today, estimated delivery was 3rd - 13 April,
This thing looks huge next to my old 27inch

  • Is this the best deal for XPS?
