Is it safe to go out due to the huge infection rates of Corona Virus?

    • +3

      Make sure you check-in.

      • -3

QR Codes are saving us from being infected?

When buying essential groceries no one ever checks in now.

Especially when NSW Premier doesnt really care anymore, he cares more for the economy and his 7 kids

        • When buying essential groceries no one ever checks in now.

So it must be safe to go out even with covid still around.

          • @cms1: No it's not, but checking in doesn't mean you're protected from infection. It merely makes it easier for contact tracing to contain outbreaks.

        • +6

There's simply no point, there's absolutely zero difference to checking in and not checking in. When you get the red alert on the app, do you need to do anything differently? No, thus no point.

It's just another cold now. Everyone's who wants to be vaccinated has been vaccinated, those that don't want to be vaccinated take the risk into their own hands.

          • @supersabroso:

            There's simply no point

That was my point. No point in worrying about covid anymore.

      • Yes checking in will save your life…. as opposed to not checking in … you might die

    • Couldn't you say this about every deal which isn't an item being delivered to you?
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/683216 is it safe to go to Soul Origin?

Went there last sunday at 1pm and it was closed. Looks like its only open during office hours. Also haven't been able to order past 730pm on a weekday. Kitchen closes early

    • -1

They are not open on weekends unfortunately.

  • Is this close to the Maccas store?

    • +1

Yeah it's 30 secs walk from the McDs in the underpass.

      • Cheers!

      • I'm in front McDonald's in wynyard station but I can't find the store. I have gone through the food court and still can't find it. It's my first time in wynyard

        • Walk towards the George Street exit and go down the escalator that's near to it.

          • @yanhaot: I found the store after circling around for over 30 mins lol. I asked multiple people at the station who all gave me wrong directions. At the end, I just randomly went down an elevator and saw a line of people.
I didn't get to buy anything tho, cause they sold out.

            Thank you for the reply

            • @embi: What time did you go? How could they sell out? They don't have dine in options?

              • @tajid: I arrived at around 2pm. There was a small line and a lady from the store asked each person what they wanted to buy, by the time she got to me, she said they sold out except for some coffee buns. I didn't want those.

                • @embi: Wow that's just not right.

Was considering to go today but given you didn't even get anything at 2pm, chances I wouldn't.

How were the restaurants though like Nene and Papparich? Did they allow dine in still?

                  • @tajid: sorry for the late reply.
When I went there, there were tables and chairs inside so, I assume they allow dine in but, everyone who were in line was buying take away from the bakery no one was there for pappa rich and nene but, maybe because they sold out too.

                    • @embi: All good, thanks for the reply :)

    oooooh!

gosh sounds awesome, last time i caught the train back in early 2020 it was still all boarded up and under construction xD

  • -1

Ooof feel for the city eateries!!

  • -2

You don't feel like ordering anything from Paparich, after looking at their over priced menu. Roti canai A$1 (RM 3) in Malaysia and in Sydney its A$10 (RM 30).

    • lels

same goes for houses, travelling, pretty much everything

yet youre still here ms lee

    • +3

Not that u disagree.. but please advise where you can can decent Malaysia around Sydney for reasonable price.. everywhere is very expensive now… I've reduced eating out alot

    • +2

Minimum wage in Australia is around rm60 verses malaysia rm4. Could be the reason

    • +1

other than Malaysia, where's good for cheaper+decent roti in Syd? I def do feel like paparich is overpriced, but I rarely can find a local/casual style Malaysian eatery that has good value meals. I think there's the really cheap end in food courts etc, but not really after that >< Even my malaysian friends don't seem to know of any good places to recommend to me!

      • Ho Jiak when they do the 50% off liven credits (which is rarely but it does happen from time to time).

      • +1

Should check out David's Kitchen near world sq- theyve got a mix of other Thai and chinese food but highly recommend the laksa and their hainan chicken. Super good value too.

      • +1

have you tried kiliney kopitam. its singaporean and don't know whether or not it has roti but very well priced.

  • +2

Closed at 545pm worst opening ever

    • +2

Went there at 5:30, told us there was no more food to serve. Looked behind the Hokkaido Cheesecake counter, they had plenty of pastries left?
