    • we got Panbio ones for Week 1 and 2San for Week 2

      • +1

we got Panbio then these… i prefer these, they were the first ones we tried and easier process than the panbio

        • +1

Wait until you try the oral ones or the saliva (lollipop) options.

      • we only got one 5-pack for each kid.

i think we get another next week…

        • +1

One 5 pack per kid? I want to swap schools then. We got 2 x 2-packs. One in the first week and one in he second week. 4 tests in total.

I got on Facebook and Scamtree last week after the first hand out and these were being sold for $10~15 per test.

            @pegaxs:

            One 5 pack per kid?

Yep, for the first 2.5 weeks. Getting another 5 pack next week.

Kids have already tested the dog and the goldfish

@jv: I’m glad your kids are taking covid seriously.

              • +2

@Savas: The cat refuses to get tested, so they've renamed him SlavOz

OK but not everybody has kids or another means of getting them for free?

For example, I don't have kids. Saved me more than $10 per RAT.

OK but not everybody has kids

        You should have planned ahead…

      • -6

Saved me more than $10 per RAT.

Healthcare card holders get them free too…

        • +7

Which brings me back to my original point of not everybody has kids or another means of getting them for free

I do not have kids nor a healthcare card, nor any other way of getting them for free. So a reliable test at less than $10 a piece is good value, some would say…a bargain.

Can you marry a pensioner maybe?

      • not quite free but the guy begging for spare change at the supermarket was selling the ones he got on his concession card cheap …..

  • Price is good but I wish they were in a 5 pack, I don't want to spend $200 in one go on RATs.
They are rated good as per https://www.tga.gov.au/post-market-review-antigen-and-rapid-…

  • +2

These will be reduced price sooner, same as what happened to masks. Once masks treated like gold

    • +1

Will they be 2cent each like masks? I bought 1000 lol

My kid tested positive on this kit, and tested negative on other brand kit. Went to do PCR on same date and tested negative.

    • Might be shedding the virus from a previous infection.

PCR test in Australia has a high tolerance for what they deem to be 'infectious'.

      • +1

Are you saying this kit is more effective than PCR?

        • +1

What I'm saying is the result of the PCR is set by policy…

PCR tests in China have a different tolerance as can be seen by all the athletes testing positive recently.

          • @jv: Yea that’s confusing. Because of this all family have tested and wasted RAT kits and doing unnecessary PCR test, let alone taking a day off for school.

  • +1

Ozbargain turning into RATbargain lately, hahahahaha
Cant go a single day with out atleast 2-3 posts of, buy this cheap RATest from here!!!

    • +3

at least this is less than 10 per kit?

      • -1

        And??????

        • +6

And that is better than being more than 10 per kit.

          • -4

@jv: I mean if you feel the need for them, then i guess they are a good price… still think its hilarious that every freakin day we getting these posts!! HAHAHA

            • @natcoso9955: Some people are still obsessed by them I guess…

        • +1

well if it is cheap it is a bargain. Just like how woolworths put a sale ticket with saving of 1c. It doesnt apply to you then just keep scrolling?

  • +3

    $7.85 each and dropping.

This time next week they'll be $5 and the week after $2.

Two months from now, Woolies will be giving them away free with checkout points.

  • How fast is their express shipping?

  • i know some friends who own childcare centres and they got so many of these exact covid packs they have been giving it to their friends for free. They gave me two boxes out of the 20 boxes they still have which is about 20 tests for free as the government is giving them for free. I reckon this seller is just reselling the boxes that were given to them by the government. You can get a hefty fine for reselling them.

    • +1

Healthy Life is Woolworths by the way.

      • Selling something the government is giving away for free is sketch at best. Especially if a massive corporation is making money out of it.

I suspect a whole lot of the Chinese RATs will be proven to be low sensitivity at detecting Omicron once TGA does its post market studies.

Save your money and stick with the free PCR and RATs from the state testing sites.

    • What make/model are they?

      • What do you mean? Check the TGA website

        • Sorry, I thought it was clear. I’m asking what make/model are the free ones they give out. I’d like to know, so I can compare on TGA site.

          • @Ulysses31: Yeah not sure, try searching twitter or reddit, maybe someone has posted photos
