Saw this JB HI-FI Trade-in bonus at JB HI-FI online
Seems to match the Samsung trade-in bonus however, I get $50 more for my note 8 on JB's trade-in site.
Can also stack it with the JB gift cards for further discounts.

I'm unsure on their no-return policy on their trade-in if it charges you the bonus or just the trade in device value.

How do I use my BONUS top-up coupon?

Simply follow these 4 Steps:

  1. Get a trade-in valuation quote via JB Trade-in website
  2. If you accept the valuation, then complete the Trade-in process to get immediate access to your JB Trade-in Credit via email
  3. Your 'BONUS Top-Up*' email containing your unique one-time code will be sent to your same email address. You will also have the option to redeem your coupon that will be sent to the same email address.
  4. Apply both your Trade-in Credit and BONUS Top-Up voucher towards the purchase of the eligible device

* Bonus Top-Up voucher can only be applied to the eligible devices listed in the promotional offer. Devices not listed in this offer will not be eligible to receive the Bonus Top-Up value.

        If we do not receive your device by the return date and you have redeemed the trade-in eGift card, we will charge your credit card the equal value to the eGift card we issued.

        • So basically, we can get to keep the $450 trade-in bonus if we don't send the traded phone in…

          • @cloudie9: I read it as they'll debit $450 so no benefit.

            • @Orgazmo: The trade in value will be issued in e gift card form whereas the $450 is a coupon.

  • Does this model support nano SIM + eSIM (dual active standby)?

    • Like to know to but id assume so? Though they don't really advertise these as dual sim mobiles, maybe cause there isn't 2 physical dual sim slots

      I wonder too with $5 number sharing from the big 3 telcos, can one use the number sharing on a mobile phone e-sim instead the typical sharing with a smart watch with e-sim well then the physical can go into a 4G modem for home use, cheapest as only $5 more per month,. well example data sharing with a second $15 data simcard from Optus, Vodafone and I think Telstra,. is cheapest next alternative to share ones main account data

  • Anyone get on jbhifi online chat, asked chat and successfully received the $100 email voucher, which can be stacked to this deal?

      • Wow, I just followed up with JB Hifi chat online to see where my $100 bonus gift card and they told me that it will be sent within 2 weeks. I was like, your email says within 3 business days after order completion, then he go on saying "oh, there are people doing returns after getting the $100 gift card". I was dumbfounded after hearing this…

  • Have prices gone up at Jbhifi for some of the S22 range? maybe a glitch on their webpage,. well now their website states the S22 128gb Phantom Black version is now $1549,.. I'm sure previously it was $1249, maybe I'm dreaming or taking the wrong drugs, don't know? lolz ok back to Samsungs s22 deal site, hope I don't see the same 🤣

  • Guys, if you do the trade up and apply $450 bonus, what do you get on the tax invoice? Does it show the full price or reduced by $450?

      I paid for the phone in person at JB Hi-Fi. I had gift cards I couldn't use online. The $450 bonus is listed as $450 discount on my invoice.

      • Did you manage to do this without trading in any phone?

        • Oh no, I started the whole process online, like everybody. I traded in my S9 for which I got a $50 gift card. On top of this I was sent a trade-in bonus coupon worth $450. I presented both at JB and paid the balance with my gift cards. I haven't received the new phone yet and haven't sent the old one.

  • I don't think you will be charged if you don't send in your trade in device. What happened for me was:

    • Traded in my old Pixel 3 for $50 - got $50 JB gift card + $450 Samsung coupon
    • Bought the S22 using $450 Samsung coupon, but I didn't use my $50 JB gift card, because I wanted to use my Amex Essentials for smartphone screen insurance
    • Turns out my Pixel 3 had a cellular issue, so I couldn't trade it in.

    I messaged them and told them that I can't trade in my Pixel 3 due to defects (without mentioning I already used the Samsung coupon to buy S22). They said there are no consequences and just cancelled my $50 JB gift card.

    What do you think? Would they charge me for the $450 later?

    This entire time I have been messaging SquareTrade. It doesn't seem like they are part of JB and it would require effort for them to confirm each coupon.

    • There are two items referred to in the terms and conditions. Trade in credit and bonus top up voucher. The former is the trade in value of the phone, the other is the flat $450. I can see it’s just the trade in value that is debited back to your card if you don’t send the phone in.

    So I could get the s22 ultra 128gb with the $450 trade in credit for $1400? And then use jb gift cards which I buy at a discount to get the phone even cheaper?

  • Wow Samsung double dipped me, two credit transactions for the one S22 phone,.. first transaction was meant to fail as last minute buys before midnight gift specials slowed the internet connection with them,.. umm I wonder if they'll honour the second transaction at $699, bonus if they do 👍🤣

    • When I called, they couldn't give me an ETA (pre ordered the S22 256g in Green at end of Feb) but the JB website now has a 30 March available date for this model for purchases made today so may be in for a long wait…

    Since there is no stock at the moment and the deal ends in 2 weeks - is it worth doing it as pre-order now? I don't want to wait 2 months for the phone.. also if it gets cheaper during the time, could you cancel your pre-order?

    • update - found one in stock at a nearby harvey norman.
      traded in old samsung s7 for $1 (cries, working perfectly) but then got the $450 trade in bonus and paid for with discounted gift cards.
      paid $768 for $1249 phone :)

  • ordered mine on 20/02 ( S22+ 128gb ,white) . The 4th came and gone, no txt, no emails, in jb hifi online account it says "Processing, status: unfulfilled". I call today to head office, they check and find its been available from a few days prior to the 4th and its a slip up that no notifications etc. Went in and picked up no problem. Worth checking if you in same position.

  • JB hi-fi has the s22 ultras in stock at Carousel store Perth - I ordered with the $450 bonus trade in (won't be sending in my old phone) and Click collect pick up confirmation sms came through 30 minutes later

    All is well beautiful phone but I've been on iPhone for last few weeks, even though I disabled iMessage prior to moving my sim to the s22ultra, I can't send or receive photos to/from iPhone users :(

  • Just got an update email from JB apologising for delay with offer of $50 gift card for the trouble (I missed out on the $100 email JB subscriber S22 pre-order giftcard). Not too fussed and don't mind waiting provided it comes before end of the month as that's when claims (requires tax invoice and serial number) for the pre-order Samsung gift bonuses expire!

      I did not send in and I have been charged the trade in amount … excluding the $450 bonus.

  • I sent my iPhone XS Max which has been assessed as partly faulty (Defects: Camera Faulty (FaceID True Depth)) and offered to buy for $220 not $280. I rejected their offer and they have not been able to charge my credit card. After refusing to pay until I receive my phone back, I get the below email - wow:

    "You will have a default placed against your credit score and we will be blocking new an
    old devices from being used within Australia. :)
    We will also block you from using any trade-in program owned by SquareTrade along
    with extended warranties.
    We have also marked your GEO location, any other orders placed from this address or
    your ID address will be blocked so you or family will never be able to use our retail
    services online and possibly in store.
    We will also send your details off to a debt collector so they can chase you with a
    possible escalation"

    I have now offered to pay $20 not $60 so that they can keep the phone and waiting for their reply.

  • Can anyone spare a copy of the newsletter with the $100 gift voucher mention. Support won't honour mine without it. :(

    • It's targeted with the email. If your email doesn't come with it you won't.

      • I got it in my email, sent them proof and they still denied it. Did everything right
