Same price on eBay - cheaper if you have plus & discounted gift cards.

Also have the option of paying via Afterpay and saving $10, which will negate part/all of Shipping cost handily.

  • People usually pay $519 for this? asking for a friend…

    • +1

      Nope.

Pretty sure the only time people buy decanter sets is when they go on sale here, or at Myer or DJs..

    • Please tell your friend that it is unlikely that people pay full price. Also, request your friend joins Ozbargain. ;-)

Real shame they moved the production from Waterford Ireland. You need to check each piece now as they are making them in multiple factories around the world yet charge the same price

Yep, for most uxury items, the place of manufacture does matter, particularly in terms of the heritage of how something is made.

  • Like all these Audis, BMW, MERCS etc, etc.

  • Thanks Op. Ordered one.

Perfect for pouring a drink during a serious conversation while holding the glass and talking/walking around the room and eventually stopping to glance through the window….

    • Pondering life's many mysteries..

  • Can crystal glass give you lead poisoning?

(Replying to myself) I found this link on canada.ca from Canadian Govt Health Services. Sounds like the risk is small, but you shouldn't store liquids in crystal glass long term. Still makes me wonder if we need to be using this stuff

      https://www.canada.ca/en/health-canada/services/healthy-livi…

      Minimizing Your Risk
There are steps you can take to reduce your exposure to lead and cadmium:
      * Use crystalware only when serving
      * Store food or beverages in lead-free containers
      * Soak new crystalware in vinegar for 24 hours and rinse it thoroughly before you use it
      * Wash crystalware by hand using a mild detergent; dishwasher detergents can damage the surface of the crystalware, causing more lead (and cadmium, if present) to be released the next time the crystalware is used
      * Use lead-free tableware when serving children or pregnant women
      * Eat a balanced diet that includes calcium, iron, protein and zinc; good nutrition will help reduce the amount of lead and cadmium your body absorbs

The dishwasher comment is interesting as I have a few glasses that have discoloured due to dishwasher usage that I think are crystal glass.

      • Yeah obviously hand wash and drinking faster negates the issue of storing liquid too long.

Decanters are nice but it's mostly to look/feel classy surely, with a little drinks trolley.. I'd probably end up putting Jim Bean! In it

  • Anyone pull the trigger on this?
An eBay plus code popped up for $10 off, so $89.

  • Bit misleading this, not the same as the ones pictured and on the official site. Not sure if it's a stich up From the seller?

Pretty good quality and good enough for the price I think anyway, perhaps still better than royal Doulton.
