I just get up early on Valentines Day and collect free ones around the neighbourhood.

    • +4

Sell them on the side of the road for the people buying roses last minute, invest in a brand new amg. Retirement plan set.

    • +13

Jimmy Carr once said, if you want free flowers….run over someone infront of your house. 🤪🤪🤪

    • +4

jv - what’s your address? I’ve got a special delivery for you

    • -2

I get up early everyday and collect free ones from cemetery

    • +4

I actually don't really understand this propaganda. Why we do we need to buy something that serves absolutely no purpose, for a days worth of earning, and flowers don't last long after being picked, just so we can please someone because we gifted them something with pretty colours and smells? I guess we aren't as far evolved from the 'birds of paradise' as we think….. We humans are really a dumb species. What is wrong with us?

    where's ?

    • +6

here comes Jeanie with her new boyfriend

    • The roses over there —>

  • +11

Crazy how we pay hundreds of dollars for a couple dozen flowers. They're literally JUST plants.

But hey, if it saves you from hours of nagging from ya missus, it's probably worth it.

    • +6

      Diamonds are just stones

      • +1

Yes but in 10 years there'll be worth just as much.

        • yes but in 10 year these roses will be Poperie lol

        • Hopefully roses will increase the love so you aren't losing anything there.

          • +2

@abs898: Roses are cheaper then family court.

            • @jerimiahhalls: I suppose you mean that if you don’t buy your wife roses on Valentine’s Day, she will divorce you and rip the family in half. If that’s the kind of relationship you’re in, I suggest you skip this deal and get the family court business done and behind you…

              • +1

@Meconium: I was just offering a very morbid, left field train of thought.
That's not the kind of relationship I'm in, don't worry! My wife prefers Gravileas.

        • As much as they were when you walked out the store, and 1/4 as much as you paid.

      • +5

God damn it Marie!! They're Minerals!!!

    • +1

      Free sex

      • +1

Not free because you paid for the roses..

        • Free roses and sex from the other side

          • @ntt: only from one side?

  • +1

I thought ALDI has always got a better deal on roses for Valentine's Day, no?

    • +11

My wife put me in the doghouse for buying aldi roses.

      • Did you leave the aldi branding on?

      • +13

Was the dog house a “special buy”?

      • +8

        You need a new wife..

        • +2

Been checking OzB everyday for one 😞

  • +7

    Anyone wanna go half?

    • +1

      Anyone for 1/24th's?

  • +25

    This is awful.

Ozbargainers please fight the urge to do this, even if you are trying to get laid.

    • +2

      But my dick has needs

  • +10

Most girls would rather have $120

    • +26

      Sending prayers to you.

    • +1

      Lol

    • +9

Most girls can earn their own $120

      • +2

they can afford their own roses.

    • +12

Most girls would rather have $120 AND the roses

      fixed for you

    • +1

      Never done roses savas?

      • +13

        I’ve never had a girlfriend .. it’s more economical.

        • +2

          This is the way.

        • +6

2 incomes and sharing accommodation is even more economical 😉

          • +2

@NobalaKoba: Sharing accommodation with multiple incomes without being in a relationship with any is the most economical 😃

            • +3

@decc0: You'd be sharing accommodation but wouldn't be sharing income.

              • +1

@constipated: Let's be honest if you're in a relationship it all just goes to the wife anyway xD

        • +1

Im pretty sure girls wouldnt allow that.
          😋

  • +6

Another day made up by corporations to sell you useless stuff… Just like how diamond prices are artificially inflated. Stay woke.

    • +2

As much as I agree with you, Mrs likes flowers and it's an easy way to win some points.

I personally don't understand the point of watching something wither away, and what it means in relation to love (unless it's some kind of a metaphor the relationship going south or something). She probably have certain things that I do that she cannot get her head around as well :P

      • +4

ah yes nothing more romantic than an overly commercialised token of appreciation that withers faster than a vegas wedding

      • +1

There's nothing wrong with showering your SO with gifts on Valentines Day but its hard to justify paying this much for roses. Would she love you any less if you bought her daisies?

        • I never said I spend this much money on roses XD. I just was talking more about how I agree with the uselessness of flowers even though I have to still buy some.

    • +1

      Happy Love Day, everybody!

  • +2

$15 for a dozen at Coles..

    • Not "long stem" though which seems to considerably add to price

      • Interested to buy this and give it around like I'm the bachelor

  • +3

Can you get delivery to two dozen different addresses?

    • Get some health insurance too

    • -1

Just put it through as 2 separate orders

    • +1

Make sure you double check the names are correct :)

    • +2

      Are you The Bachelor?

  • -1

    Modern women dont deserve flowers

    • +13

Yes and traditional ones are mostly in the grave so naturally they are pushing up daisies.

      • +1

I get my flowers from cemeteries.

    • +5

Modern women are the one who need, so they can share it on FB/Insta lol

    • That's a bit harsh. Individuals may not deserve, but others do. Can you expand on your definition of a modern woman?

  • +2

I bought a dozen roses this week for $15.

Valentine's Day rose prices are a rip off.

    • From where?

      • +6

Woolworths. They were pink/white and were not long stemmed. But my wife was sick and she appreciated them all the same.

        • +4

So you purchased a different product at a different price?

          • @solidice: Yep and it was much better value. 40cm long stems ain’t bad.

    • +2

You definitely don't know how valentine's day work , doesn't matter if it's half price day before or after. Lol

      • +5

He knows. But he also knows how relationships work. Good on him/her for getting flowers for their sick wife. Not because of a commercialised day but because. A happy marriage is this one.

        • +1

Valentines day there for reason, you don't need to buy a $120 flowers or $100k car or house. It's commercialised just as Mothers day / fathers day true. Psychologically it's just a once a year trigger point for most relationships to check where they stand.
Doesn't need to be sick wife, maybe breakfast in bed, that's won't cost $100.

But for the people who willing to spend , this is a deal, good luck finding at this price delivered at that day.

    • yes hideously overpriced, But if you feel you must get roses on valentines you are unlikely to find much cheaper than this. My local florist charges more than that for a dozen on valentines.

  • +9

I'd be in trouble if she finds out I spent $120 on some damn roses. A card with a $100 note is way more meaningful and practical.

    • +13

She will spend the 100 and be upset you didnt get flowers. She will also answer 'nothing' when you ask her what's wrong

      • +3

        This man gets it.

The more logic you put into your gifts, the worse it is.

        • +2

          Exactly. Never use logic.

Your flowers should be spontaneous but not too spontaneous, and it must be on Valentine's Day.

They must also be expensive, but not too expensive.

  • Nomoreroses

  • +3

Great, just what I'm looking for
    One for each mistress

  • +1

Can probably buy a pallet’s worth of Cadbury Roses for the same money..cut flowers are such a scam.

  • Thanks OP, bought 10

  • I love you ozbargainers.
Ordered 2 dozen long stems to be sent to every members house.
Happy Valentines Day fellow R.A.T hunters.

  • I ordered these for the misses last year, but for $99. Shame they had to go up in price.

  • Only really need one to get the points, can I find two-dozen Ozbargainers to split this with?

  • Any other Valentine's deals? I need some ideas :D

  • +1

Spend a bit more and get 12 sets of these https://shop.legolanddiscoverycentre.com.au/products/lego%c2…

    Last lot longer..

  • Thanks OP just ordered 1

  • +3

Bought the missus flowers from Woolies the other day so I've hit my yearly quota already

  • Thanks OP!
