    • Chat with boost. I got my service extended due to having a lot of data left over.

    • i contacted their chat team and asked them if i could keep my old data. they said no, but were happy to give me extra 50GB on top of the recharge bonus for this new sim, so you can try asking them. Remember to use the chat option, don't call them.

    • I talked to their customer service. I didn't get a discount, but the agent gave me extra 50G for $200 and I reckon that was fair

  • Awesome, I was due to update my plan this month. Cheers.

  • Can I just confirm what the process is for a current Boost customer? I add the $5 Vodafone sim at checkout? - Then I port to Vodafone when I receive the sims? How soon can I then port back to Boost?

    • +2
I don't think you have to port out / in. I just received below response from Boost Rep over the chat.

I understand you wanted to get a PROMO SIM for recharge as your old plan is expiring soon.

As existing customer, you can take advantage of SIM promo by getting/buying them online during promo period so we can activate it as recharge form for your number when SIM is delivered to you.

The current SIM promo we have for 12 months is the $200 SIM discounted at $180 if you buy it directly from the website: https://boost.com.au/collections/featured-products/products/…

Rest assured once it's delivered to you we can recharge it for your number later.

Delivery of SIM can take 2-7 business days depending on your address.

Your satisfaction means everything to us. Have we covered everything that you wanted to discuss today?

      • Looks like you are right. I too just had an online chat and this was the reply I got:

"Here is the thing, for you to be able to take advantage of new customer offer you can purchase a SIM online that has a promotion on it( the preferred promotion) and then once it is delivered we can transfer your number on that SIM .Once the SIM arrives, send us a message We will transfer your number to the new SIM".

Agent then confirmed there is no need to port out and back in - that they will port existing number to new Boost sim.

      • but how is this cheaper than buying the $200 SIM at $155.xx + Vodafone sim at $3.xx?

You still save $20 if you do the port out port in dance (although maybe a bit more work)

        • That's an offer Boost is running by the looks of the reply.

Bottom line is - you can buy this deal and contact Boost (via online chat) when you get your new sim and they will transfer your number to the new sim without needing to port to another carrier then port back.

        Hi, smileplease.
Yes, I know it's do able, but not suggest.
The reason is: how they do this is after you receive your sim, they help you activate the sim as new number (step 1)
then deactivte your existing number (step 2), the number goes back to telstra system.
then they replace your number get from step 1 with the deactivtated number ( your existing number) .

For telstra sims there's less chance get issues on step 2, but for boost sims, chance is not slim the number stuck in the system for hours or days. you may confirm this infomation with telstra/boost support.

  • Thank you!

  • HI OP - when you say "expires Oct 2022" it means I have to switch to the SIM before that date? Surely if its a 1year deal, it should last 1 year? Sorry confused about the wordings…

    • expires date means the last day you activate. say you can activate on Aug 2022, and the inclusin expires on Aug 2023, whether you will get bonus data that time or not depends on boost bonus data offers that time.

    • What's confusing? You have to activate by the expiry date and it lasts 12 months from activation date. That's any prepaid service.

Does the Telstra SIM have the ability to receive missed calls as well as SMS messages while travelling overseas (International roaming but without paid service)??

    • Sounds no (was going to buy Telstra too).
      https://www.telstra.com.au/support/mobiles-devices/pre-paide…
Needs to be on month-to-month plan

      "
I purchased Telstra Pre-Paid with the intention to use my service overseas. What can I do?

From 13 October 2020, you won’t be able to use your Telstra Pre-Paid number overseas, unless you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network on a compatible device. If you want to use your Telstra mobile number overseas, you can contact us to switch to one of our month-to-month plans.
      "

  • Thanks OP! Got one.

Just to correct the facts on the Telstra SIM Page it mentions “.. 1. Boost does not support Telstra 4GX network….” which is not correct

    • +1

From what we were educated, it's corret. Boost do be able to access Band 28 which 4GX based on, however, it does not get the 4GX speed priority. thus in the telstra system it suggested frontline not to claim 4gx for boost prepaid.

  • I have a question, I recently bought Vodafone's 12 month 200gb deal which was a big mistake. It has bad coverage in certain spots I'm usually at.

So I was wondering, if I change to a new mobile number on my Vodafone, could I put my current number when I get my boost sim? Is this possible?

The goal is to have my current number on boost and also keep my 200gb data on Vodafone because I have 190gb so I may use in places I can lol.

  • Do I need another sim(ontop of this one) if I want to keep the same number I already have when I port back in?

Last time I did this(not from simonline), I needed a 2nd sim just to keep my same number which they transferred the data too.

  • I'm currently on Boost, can I Port to Telstra directly?

  • +4

Second time I am purchasing from your store. Simply love the way you bundle things. And no BS while checking out…. Straight simple process. Wishing you so very best.

  • can i port from belong to boost?

    • Yes, I have completed exactly this Belong to Boost a couple of hours ago. The port was completed within 20 mins.
      * Edit, just checked my emails from when I submitted to when I got the 'activated' email. It took 5 mins.

  • Thanks OP! Perfect timing!! Cheers

  • Currently trying to get out of my Kogan Yearly plan I just purchased a month ago so I can jump on boost - literally on 0-1 bars constantly. Unusable.

How long will this deal be going for ?

  • +1

    $200 already sold out :(

  • Boost: $152 for 140GB
    Catch: $120 for 120GB
    Kogan: $120 for 130GB

    Why go with Boost?

    • +3

Telstra 4G retail network, VoLTE, international calls. Why not?

    • If you don't care about the talk quality and signal reception, surely you will have other much much 'better' options out there.

    • +1

yeah downvote me for asking a genuine question… stay classy ozbargain

      • Yeah I reckon you had a legit question, maybe people misinterpreting your "Why go with Boost?" question as sarcasm?

Some ppl add "genuine question / genuinely curious" to clarify intent, and the community seems pretty cool with that.

        My 2c only.

  • Might be a dumb question - but does anyone know if you can receive SMS while travelling overseas on a Boost SIM?

    • +2

      See previous comment mate.

  • Bit off topic, but does anyone know of a sim card that can receive SMS without having to buy a plan?

  • +1

Finally got it via chat after a bit of back of forth and linking this very comment section (lol).

    • $180 SIM card via Boost website
    • $10 recharge while waiting for it to arrive (thanks rep!)
    • $30 refund and number transfer once I get it (with a ref # so I don't have to go through it again)
  • Thanks OP. Got one.

Also FYI, Tried chatting with Boost to help with price match but they did not in my case.YMMV perhaps. I also got the Vodafone port in option.

  • Accidentally ordered Telstra 300 instead of Boost 300.
Sent you an email to either change the order or place a refund.

    • cancelled. you make place order again.

  • if you are a current customer but you don't care about number (pure data) can you still get the deal?

    • you can always activate as a new number and get bonus data.

  • +1

Any chance of getting more of the Boost Mobile SIM: $200 140GB plan?

    • +1

Yes please! Had some issues with the cart, went back and was out of stock.

      • +2

        Likely be Thusday or Friday.

        • Any way of informing us when back in stock?

  • Anyone know the process of going from Telstra postpaid to prepaid?

    • I suggest you just port out to vodafone and then use a few days and port back.

    • I asked Boost chat this and they said to chat/call them when you have the starter kit and they will manually port you over.

  • This looks a better deal? 120GB for $120 @ 365 days (except no international calls/texts)
    https://www.catch.com.au/product/catch-connect-365-day-mobil…

    • Optus. Apple vs Potato.

      • You made a joke in French. Pomme de terre.

  • I ported to WW Mobile last week, will I have issues porting out again as it's only been 5 days?

Also, have a few Q's if anyone knows the answers…
    1. Does it include data free apple music? Found on their website that data free AM is no longer offered. OP you may want to update your website listing for this
    2. What happens if by chance I hit my data limit of 240/280GB?
    3. What happens if I don't use the 240/280GB data in the 12 months?

  • Hi OP. Placed an order for Boost instead for Telstra. I have sent a dp. Please look into it. Thanks.

  • Does the Telstra plan give you 5G access? Looks good if you don't need the data difference (225GB vs Boost 240GB)…

      • you are right , 4G only, I believe.prepaid do not have 4g, unless it's 60$ plan or if you area have capacity and telstra promote you for try.

  • +1

Will the "$200 140GB $152" back in stock soon?

    • Waiting too…!

      • +1

        back in stock, thanks

        • Top shop. Thank you!

  • -1

Mate, the $ sign goes before the number, not after. Both here and on your web site you randomly place the $ sign after.

    • -1

LOL. Negged for that. Isn't it a fact? Now we're negged for quoting facts.

  • Note that I selected express about 18 hours ago and yet to have the SIM dispatched. Hoping delivery comes soon, if at all…

    • did it???

  • +1

    Mine arrived today.

Asked Boost chat to transfer from existing boost number to new simcard serial number, all went thru smooth in 15 minutes.

    140gb came up from $200sim.

    Cheers

    • Is there a voucher needed to be entered to activate once the simcard is transferred, or is the $200 sim already loaded up?

  • +1

Activated my sim today. Works as advertised. Cheers!

  • Do you guys receive an order confirmation email after making the payment ?

    • you should have, pls check your junk mail.

    • Yes I did straight away

  • is pickup an option in melbourne tomorrow ? for the Telstra prepaid $300 ($228) starter sim. Thanks

  • Thanks OP
Purchased the $228 x 3 (280gb) for my kids who are on iiNet currently (1/2 price 120gb per month deal that is finishing) and myself who is already with Boost. Hopefully I will be able use the Boost chat thing so I don't need to port out to Vodafone and back in again.

  • Hello there. I've got two numbers under my name. The first number is with Boost already, and my second number is with Optus.
I want to port my second one to Boost too.
Can I still port my second number into Boost and get recognised as a new customer?
I'm a bit curious as I heard this voucher is for new customers only.

    • You will be consider new customer for the Optus number only. New customer means new number ported in from other provider.

  • thanks op bought one

  • Thanks OP

  • Great seller. Fast shipping. Thank you!

  • $300 Telstra SIM for $228 only

For the above, if I'm with Telstra on a plan and it's out of contract, can I swap my number over to this?

    • It is safe to port our to other provider and port in to either Telstra or Boost prepaid.

  • How long do i have to activate this? my current one does not expire until may. Thanks

  • just got mine..
hopefully Boost chat will let me recharge instead of having to port in and out..

i didnt choose express post just normal, when can we expect delivery? a week?

  • +1

Trying to activate the $30 Voda that came with the pack, and it seems that I actually have to pay a $30 recharge to activate? That's a terrible deal. Could get Aldi, Kogan or any other useless sim for a lot less than $33.80 =/

    • +1

The Vodafone prepaid sim card is loaded with $30 credit.
Vodafone need your credit card for verification purpose only.
      Do not choose auto recharge.

      • Humm, thank you.

I thought that was dodgy and ended up getting a $4 Lebara on Coles. No credit card required.

        • Is it easy to port in and out for Lebara sim?
Please report your experience. Many thanks

          • @seniordoc: Yes, just fill out an online form - very poorly developed, so use a desktop if you want to avoid headaches with the address search field.

I think it also asked to upload an ID, or maybe just asked to enter the details. Can't remember. But it was easy.

  • Did anyone have issues with their order from these guys? They sent me a sim card but no recharge pack. I had to contact them after the sim card arrived to get the serial number and pin, then the serial number was in use already when I tried to activate it.
    What were other people's experiences?
I'm currently waiting for a response to get it resolved but I'm a bit worried.

    • Hi,please be more specific about the story.
      I never had issues.
I ordered twice and both of them arrivied on time and works fine.

      • @allengo12 Did they send you the whole kit, or just the plastic sim and you had to contact them via email to get the serial # and pin?
I received the sim card, then I had to email them and they sent me a photo of the serial & pin. i.e. they had opened the kit, not me.

  • Is the vodafone $30 sim available on its own? Im only getting 24% off

    • Only when you buy together any long life sims.

  • Ordered Boost $300 SIM 18/02. Delivered 21/02 in Perth (express). Thanks!

My current Boost $300 12mth plan expires in 2 weeks. I contacted Boost chat about purchasing new a SIM and moving my number across to it instead of recharging my existing SIM plan.

    Their response:

Yes, we can do that. You can buy the new SIM and once you have it, please contact us back so we can activate the SIM and keep your number to that new SIM.

Fingers crossed all goes smoothly. Will update post once I get to that stage.

    • Hey! So how did it go? All good?
