Which is better for the price. The mentioned Lenovo or this smaller Samsung:
    https://www.centrecom.com.au/samsung-odyssey-g55-lc27g55tqwe…

    • Hard to compare the monitors they seem to have different use cases, I'd prefer this as I don't want something curved and don't need the high refresh rate of the Samsung (I'll be doing casual gaming and will watch most of my streaming content on it), if gaming is the priority then the Samsung could be a better choice.

    • +3
      • Why curved, are they good?

      • Cheers. I think I will buy this now using gift cards from shopback for extra savings 😁

      • Can I ask why? I bought the dell, so just curious.

    • +4

What are you using it for? Basic browsing/watching or gaming?
      Do you care about ips/va?
Do you want a flat or a curved screen?
Would you rather a bigger screen or a faster screen?

If you chose A for all of those, then buy this.

There is no better for the money. It what's better for your use case.

  • This is great for work. Bought one from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/669385 and bought the second several days later.

  • One of the reviews says its only a 60hz display, not 75hz, and that it does not have built in speakers either, which Officeworks, at one point, said that it does. The Samsung above looks like a good deal!

    • +1

My ones can be set to 74.780 Hz.
Not sure about the speaker, never intend to use the speaker of a monitor.

    • It definitely doesn’t have inbuilt speakers.

  • I wish i got this instead of the dell 34inch one :(

    • The irony is I have the Lenovo sitting idle but want the 34…lol

    • I thought bigger would be better?

  • Can anyone comment on officeworks return policy for change of mind? Say i got this home, tried it and didnt like it….?

    • +1

30 days . Check in store if they have a model

  • If this had USB-C connection for connecting laptops with charging support then I would be sold. Bizzare that this doesn't given it's aimed at office use

  • Isn't UW better for work? It has more space, no?

    • UW??

    • I think Ultrawide is not suitable for dual monitors

      • UW, with a single 27" on a side

        • Damn son

        • Are you using a docking station to connect both screens?

  • Some past comments: Disappointed in the low brightness and viewing angle.

    • How, it's IPS?

      • Don't know, guess the low brightness effect the image ?

  • +1

Be aware that its not bright with a brightness of 250 cd/m². I got the Lenovo last sale and I regret it.

    • But for basic office type work like emails and spreadsheets this screen should be ok?

      • -1

It’s perfectly adequate provided you don’t need to read the e-mail or edit the spreadsheet.

This is the ideal prop for what I call the WFH “mimers” — those that hit random keys loudly during a Zoom meeting whilst nodding with the occasional “oh yeah” or “for sure.” Just enough enthusiasm to ensure that the next paycheque arrives on its regular schedule…

      • Yea. This is perfectly adequate for those tasks.

and the color is not accurate

  • That monitor actually sounds ok? What's wrong with it? IPS? decent resolution and size.

  • HDMI 1.4

4k is better for 32 inch monitor.
Samsung frame or M7 is the one to get

    • I find 2k 32" is just right if running at 100% scaling.
If all the apps you use support scaling well, then 4k is nicer, but there are still a lot of programs around that don't really cope with scaling well on windows (menus not fitting, blurry looking sections).

Or if you have good eyesight and can keep the 4k at 100% they are good too.

I had one of these Lenovos, and have switched to a 4k Screen.
About 50% of the time the 4k is better and 50% its slightly annoying.

4k may be better on Mac or Linux

  • Suitable as a second monitor for a 27” 5K iMac?
    (obviously not used for gaming)

    • +3

5K iMac deserves better, even for second screen

      • +1

I’m looking to improve on the 40” Samsung 1080p TV I’ve currently got hooked up to it with my Kmart dongle). Sure I want better, but I drive a hard bargain. Also, my eyes hurt.

        • Don't use a TV. Because you are sitting close you need a monitor which will have sharper image and text.
          Get a 32" 4K monitor or 2x 27" 4K

      • Agree. I have a Dell S2721QS (4K) as my second monitor to my 5K iMac and it works brilliantly.

  • +1

It looks good on paper… but those bezels!!

I'm guessing that this is going to be a case if "you get what you pay for". 32" IPS monitors are typically closer to the $1000 mark. With $1000 you're getting an IPS monitor satisfactory brightness level with great viewing angles (really important when sitting close to a large monitor). With this you're getting terrible brightness and thus no matter what angle you view it from its terrible lol.

    • Not sure where you got $1000 from.
      My Dell 32" 4K was around $500

      • You got an IPS for $500? My point is specifically about IPS screens and not VA ones.

    • I bought a Viewsonic 32" 2k monitor in 2019 for $350… So its definitely not close to $1000.

UW (34) version however are closer to $1000

      • You got an IPS for $500? My point is specifically about IPS screens and not VA ones.

        • Forgot to mention, it was an IPS indeed.

          It was VX3276-2K…

    • We all have 32" 1440p monitors in my office and they were between $330-550 each, nowhere near $1000, nor are any, as I am the one that researches and purchases them and basically nothing comes close to that pricepoint unless you jump to 4k.

Also I find that In a normal office, 250 nits is more than enough and likely still needs to be turned down.

2k resolution really doesn't hold up above 27. Screen will look noticeably grainy.

  • Mmmm….

"It has a 4 ms response time for producing lifelike colours." Not sure how. :-)

  • Does anyone know whether it supports PIP/PBP?

    • Unfortunately it doesn’t.

    • What is PBP?

      • Picture by Picture which splits the screen into 2 for dual inputs

  • I am right in thinking this monitor has the same pixel density as 24" @1080P ?

  • Gigabyte M27Q

  • Is this good for PS5

    • Was also curious to know how this could fare for gaming purposes (I have an Xbox series s)

  • Is this monitor flicker free ???
