TIMTAMCOFFEEPARTYON

Hey Oz Bargain Community,

Once again the Lime Bluer's have spoken and we've listened, you wanted a repeat deal and here it is. Due to the fantastic feedback received we've decide to continue the following two initiatives we first trialed with our previous deal:

1) Our Tim Tam™ initiative (the purpose is explained on our site) AKA we'll send you a free Tim Tam™ with your order :)

2) An independent delivery system for certain orders. This system means your fresh coffee is guaranteed to be delivered safely (delivery with extra care) within a week (usually 24-48 business hours) of you receiving your delivery tracking link. At this point in time you cannot request this service, as it's still in testing mode. At present getting this service just comes down to luck mixed with a number of factors such as your location, when you order, how many other people order from your general area… Please note if your order is designated to this service the tracking link will say "untrackable." However, once you get this link your delivery will happen within a week (more likely 24-48 hours as mentioned), there'll likely be a tracking message next to "order ref" and you'll receive a tracking update once delivery has been completed.

Here's the deal highlights:

We're offering you a 40% discount only $25.19 per kg (usually $41.98 per kg) off our current incredible featured rotating Single Origin Coffee from São Paulo Brazil, plus you'll get a free Tim Tam™ :)

Here's a recap of my thoughts on our recently launched featured rotating Single Origin coffee from São Paulo Brazil, I believe it's the best suited Single Origin for milk based coffee (hot and iced) we've ever featured. It's like a perfect tango the milk and coffee are independent but when they come together as a team they put on quite a show! That said it's still delicious as a black coffee

Some helpful info:

  • You're welcome to place multiple orders to make the most of this deal
  • Complimentary gift notes can be written in the "special instructions for seller" box on the cart page."
  • Delayed dispatch requests are welcome. In 2022 delayed dispatch orders will be dispatched on Friday's (there may be the odd exception e.g. public holiday may mean a Thursday), simply let us know when your ideal Friday dispatch date is by leaving us a note in the "special instructions for seller" box on the cart page. Don't worry delayed dispatch request orders will still receive a Tim Tam™ :)
  • If you select paypal express checkout on the product page you'll likely skip the order notes section, which is on the cart page (as mentioned above)
  • The discount price will show up after the "cart" stage of the ordering process AKA once you start entering in your delivery details
  • The largest bag size we use is 1kg and it has a zip (it's resealable), for example if you order 4kg with 1kg packaging you will receive 4*1kg bags, you will not receive a single huge 4kg bag. 500g bag packing is available for an extra $3.60 per kg including the discount (normally $6 extra per kg) to cover the extra bag/s, label/s and time it takes to pack
  • Flat Rate Shipping $6.99 No Delivery Company Preference $7.99 Shipit-Courier's Please $8.99 Australia Post $12.99 Express Post

Op - do you prefer to Tim Tam slam a coffee with or without milk?

    • +23

Love that question, what a terrific way to kick off the comments!

Without hesitation I'm in the Tim Tam slam with milk category. A lot of thought has gone into this decision:

      1) Temperature - On the occasion that I do have a Tim Tam slam I like to have it at the start of my coffee, my black coffee is hotter than my white coffee, so TT slam with a black coffee ends up being a melted disaster
      2) Flavour - I think the TT Slam pairs better with a milk based coffee than a black coffee
      3) UFO in my coffee - I have my morning coffee super early in the morning outside, which means it's often dark outside. If I do a TT Slam with a black coffee in the AM and see something floating I instantly think "oh no, something has flown into my coffee," yet when it's a milk based coffee I think "oh, all good, it's just a rouge Tim Tam." I know how strange this sounds, but life's too short not to be a little strange sometimes haha :)

OP - Do you have any promotions upcoming on your Decaf?

    • +1

      Nice question, appreciate the interest!

There may be one in Feb, time will tell, this is the only deal we're doing for the rest of Jan. You're welcome to send us an email to go on our Decaf deal list or simply join our email deal newsletter and keep your eyes peeled :)

      • Do you have a brew guide for your decaf?

        • We sure do, we print our Decaf brew guides on both our Swiss Water Process and Natural Spring Water EA Decaf options :)

  • +2

Mighty fine coffee and excellent service!….Keep up the good work

    • WOOHOO absolute music to my ears, thank you so much for your order, complementary feedback and terrific vote of confidence, all are truly appreciated!!!

Bought last time and found it too bitter to my taste. Bring back Brazil Peaberry deal any time.

    • +1

I've never found their coffee to be too bitter. Could it be the way you're brewing it? 20 in 20 out over 18 seconds (from memory) seems to be their standard way. I do agree that Brazil Peaberry was sensational, definitely my favourite of them all.

      • Does the 1:2 ratio and 30sec not apply to this coffee? How fine would one go on a breville smart grinder.

        • +2

          Great questions!

          1) For this SO we recommend:
          Milk Based = 1:1:18 secs
          Black = 1:2:27 secs
          Filter = 1:16.67

          2) This depends on a number of factors such as dose, espresso machine, use of burrs. Perhaps start in the middle of the "espresso" grind settings and adjust from there. When adjusting it's best to grind out half a shot after each adjustment to clear the chute, otherwise half your shot will be on the old setting and half on the new setting, you may already be doing this just thought it was worth a mention

We print our brew guides for each of our coffees on the bags. These are just guides, from there feel free to tweak the ratios to suit your preference :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Thanks. Ordered.

            • @tman2020: Amazing, thank you so much, I hope you absolutely love this delicious SO :)

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Just ordered my first batch from you guys, can’t wait to try them! Sorry for the noob question, on the breville dual boiler it has a pre-infusion setting, do these times apply after the pre-infusion (when the espresso first starts to drop)? Or would you recommend disabling the pre-infusion step?

            • @ZeroSix: It includes pre-infusion. That's what I've been doing with my breville bambino plus but not with this coffee. Happy to be corrected, otherwise it adds another 9ish seconds.

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: 1:1 means 18g of ground beans and extracting 18g of espresso in 18 seconds yes ?

            • +1

              @AliKay: Spot on @AliKay !

If your go to dosing based on your setup is 18g then your example your be the winner for you. On our bags we use the example of 20g of ground coffee, extracting 20g of espresso over 18 seconds for milk based coffees :)

              • @LimeBlueCoffee: thanks will order a bag to try

                • +1

@AliKay: Fantastic, thank you so much for giving us a shot, it's an opportunity we really do appreciate and won't take for granted :)

              • @LimeBlueCoffee: Can I ask why this is? I always thought the convention was 1:2? (i.e. 20g ground coffee and then 40g of extracted espresso?)

Would the 1:2 ratio with your coffee for milk based mean the coffee would have too much espresso in there?

                Thanks

                • @Mellows: Yea I’d like to know that too.

I’ve got the Breville Oracle coffee machine and they have always suggested 1:2 ration for their 20g auto dosing grinder and aiming to start having flow at 8-12 seconds after starting the brew and running it to a total of 28-30sec and adjusting the grind setting to achieve that.

                  • @djz: It's generally hard to have a SO coffee cut thru milk well. So the 1:1 ratio helps this.

I make two coffees a day, one black and another flat white. It definitely tastes better with milk using the 1:1 ratio with this coffee.

                  • @djz: Just focus on output for the Oracle. On a double shot pull you should be aiming for bang on 60ml output after 30 second that's 60ml plus crema.

          • @LimeBlueCoffee: Pretty new to making my own espresso's so please excuse my noob question.

When you refer to the ratio's 1:1, does that mean for a double shot, I'd go 36g of beans = 36g of coffee in the cup?

            • @Pwoar: That'd be a quad shot - typical double shot is in the 18-20g ballpark.

              But otherwise you're right.

              • @senorclean: Ah thanks! I guess I've been making quad shots for a while then lol!

  • +1

Hmmm, slightly cheaper than the current 40% discount at inglewood coffee roasters, even with the shipping applied, ANDi get a pack of timtams. I could give these a try since lot a people have given them praise in past deals

    • +5

You get a single Tim Tam.

      • +3

        oh…

        • +3

I was hoping someone would clarify that… One Tim tam is like saying free sock with each pair of shoes purchased.

          • -1

@Foodstamps: Says Tim Tam in title. Pretty self explanatory.

            • +2

@serpserpserp: We're not all born as clever as you num nuts.. I mean num nut… self explanatory pssst

              • -1

@Foodstamps: Just because your reading comprehension is poor, doesn't mean you have to call people names and bully them.

  • +1

Big fan as always, will be ordering!

    • Woohoo, thank you so much for your orders and wonderful vote of confidence, it's truly appreciated!!!

  • +1

We want Jacob, how funny would it be if the other coffee guys have a discount code Jacob burn

  • -4

Not that cheap.. Compared to lots of single origin subscription services.

    • Jacob Burn?

    • My bad this is for 1kg

  • +1

Bought this from the last deal and it is excellent coffee.

    Delayed dispatch requests are welcome

Is there a time limit on how far into the future the delay can be? e.g. 2 weeks? 4 weeks?

    Thanks

    • +1

Woot woot that's wonderful to hear, thank you truly for the order and wonderful feedback, absolutely wrapped!!!

Any Friday in 2022 is fine, please note if your request is way down the track e.g. November you may be get a different featured SO, if it's in the 2-4 week range then you'll 100% get this SO :)

      • Wow, that's very flexible. Thank you!

        • +1

Happy we're in your good books. We aim to be as flexible as possible for customer's, short of breaking our dispatch system :)

p.s. please excuse the extra "be" in my previous comment, looks like I'm destined for another trip to Typo Central today haha

  • Happy new year Limeblue. I bought last year and maybe this year. Unfortunately have a bag of supermarket stuff to go through.

    • +1

Terrific opener, Happy New Year right back at you :)

Thank you so much for you order with us, it really does mean so much to the team!

Your welcome to make the most of this deal without stockpiling the good stuff by ordering now and requesting a delayed dispatch :)

  • Have heard a lot of good things about Lime Blue on Ozbargain. Just placed an order. Very keen to try this coffee :)

  • Loved my first 1kg, just ordered another 1kg. I've been using the Aeropress with these beans. Thanks Lime Blue!

  • I've got too much coffee to get through already, but I love your stuff! My wife loves your decaf, it tastes so smooth, with a hint of creamy caramel (well that's what she said anyway). Thanks for your awesome deals :)

  • With delayed shipping is it possible to bring it forward if needed?

    • +1

100% simply send us an email with any dispatch date changes and we'll make them happen for you :)

      • how long could we delay it? Would a month be "too much to ask" ?

        • He already said its OK in a previous comment..

  • I just drink espresso will you have a decent special on something for that soon? Looking to make a purchase.

  • Got this in the last deal and loved it. Thanks rep.

  • First order from you guys, looking forward to tasting! Just purchased a breville barista express, any tips from other users with grind size? Settings? It's a great machine compared to the sunbeam purchased previously.

    • Don't have anything to add other than I'm in the exact same boat. Happy to take pointers from seasoned users.

      • +1

I got this deal last time, and I have a Breville Express. I'm really liking this coffee and I've their previous SO as well

I use grind setting 4, and I'm using a 20g dose 1:1 in 27 sec as per their brew guide. However, I'm not using the standard Breville basket anymore.

        Hope this helps

        • I used to have Breville Express before upgrading. It is interesting to hear you have 20 IN-20 OUT in 27sec. How is the gauge pressure, very high? and if so, does it lead to bitter taste?

          • @huntabargain: The new basket I'm using is 20g, and yes it's pressure is high. Right on the edge or over of the zone. However, I don't find the result bitter at all.

  • Thanks OP, in for a kilo! :)

  • Enjoyed my last bag of coffee!

  • This was fantastic coffee. I am so in for another kg

  • I haven’t tried Limeblue before, how do they compare to roasters like Ona, Market Lane, Seven Seeds etc?

    • +1

You will be shocked at how good the coffee is, let alone at this price.

If you end up buying, please come back to this comment and tell me what you think!

    • -1

Well it's nearly half the price for starters.

      • Oh really? I didn’t notice.

  • keen to try this, anyone offer some comparison to Airjo (enterprise?)

    • +1

I have been a big fan of the Enterprise. Couldn't really find anyone else who compared this with the Airjo, so I just placed an order to see how I go. I've got enough coffee for another 5 days and hopefully this arrives in time. Will let you know once I get it.

    • +1

I liked this better than enterprise. I could never really completely eradicate some unpleasant bitter notes in the enterprise despite my decent equipment.

      • Sounds great. I have always been happy with the Enterprise as such but its promising to hear that you liked this better than the Enterprise.

      • I drink Enterprise too. But I've liked BL's SO better so far.

    • I mean taste is subjective, but I have this just ahead of Enterprise.

      • I personally wouldnt really compare it to Enterprise. I like it, but it's more of the old school dark roast strong coffee.

        This SO isn't that.

It's probably more similar to samatra from Arjo. Even then I prefer this coffee.

        IMHO of course

  • Bought but will delay til after the subscription. Just hoping this isn't the last flavour of the mystery flight now

  • Great stuff. I bought 3 kg with 2 on delay. Loved it last time.

  • bloody awesome timing fellas, just got myself a bag

for anyone still on the fence, I've never had an issue with lime blue coffee quality or delivery wise after around 6 orders now

.. plus their emails always give me a chuckle

keep grinding (haha) away guys, love your work

  • Decided to give this a bash. Ordered a kg for myself and thought at this price might as well order one for my brother (though I keep the TimTams!) :)

  • Ordered a kg of beans to try out.

OP, I did add instructions for delayed dispatch but cannot see it in the order confirmation page. Are you able to confirm the delayed dispatch for 18th of Feb?

    • Woohoo thank you so much for placing an order with us, and it's truly appreciated!!!

I'll be happy to double check for you, please send a reply email to your order confirmation :)

  • Ordered for 4 weeks from now, would that be safe to get this specific SO? I'd push it even later but this one sounds too good to pass on

  • These are some good beans going through a bag from the Dec deal

  • I had a reminder set to buy coffee from the Inglewood deal but went with this one :)

  • Just put an order in. Have been with team Airjo for the past year, so keen to see how the Ozbargain competitors fare :)

  • Hi OP how frequently do you do this deal if you don't mind me asking? I still have one kilo to finish with my current coffee.

    • Nice question!

Any specific deal we have is only guaranteed while it's live. We may do this deal again or this may be the last time for this specific Single Origin deal, time will tell…that's one of the reasons we have the delayed dispatch request feature, so you can make the most of the deal price now without having to stockpile the good stuff :)

  • +1

Ordered is this better then campos coffee

  • Has anyone filter brewed this? Bit iffy on blind buying a kilo since I find a lot of omni roasts a bit too harsh for filter brews when drinking it black.

    • +1

I don’t filter brew it, but once the beans get more than 4-5 weeks past roast date and the crema starts to dwindle, I use them for my morning plunger. No complaints.

      • +1

Thanks! I love espresso but have no space for a machine unfortunately.

        • My pleasure, hope you enjoy it!

  • hi OP if i want 1kg delivered every few weeks for 4kg in total, should i do 4x1kg orders (4 orders in total), or 1x4kg order (1 order in total) with several dispatch dates in the notes?

appreciate any clarification you can provide

  • Love the sound of that question!

Thanks for taking the time to reach out and show interest in us. Four separate 1kg orders with an order note for each will work perfectly :)

  • Happy to try based on all the comments :) THANKS OP

  • Ordered one based in those comments!
Looks like Airjo is getting a competitor.
Any idea how long will it take to sydney? I chose the cheapest option.

  • Ordered 2 kg during the last promotion and the Sao Paolo is one of my top 3 light roast. It’s also great for coffee dry rub (I use it on my steak).

I also bought an aeropress from these guys. Fantastic service and definitely a big thumbs up.

  • Is it okay to judge coffee… by how soon you go to the bathroom..?

  • I have signed up to the 6mth preorder or would totally jump on this. Excellent coffee and customer service.

  • Any recommendations for cold brew?
