Having owned both mice… They are like chalk and cheese…

    • +2

It probably depends on your use case and past experience using other mouse. Having used $5 logitech/Microsoft/noname mice in the past it's a big upgrade for me. If you're used to premium mouse, I agree it'll be like chalk and cheese

      • +5

I agree, but this isn't a $5 mouse. This is a $40 mouse, that's significantly worse in every way to the $60 mouse it's trying to copy. Just sharing my experience.

        • +1

Is there anything specific that's bad? I want to know before dropping $60 on the MX, if this one is going to be pretty much the same.

          • +2

@sangohan: The Rapoo is not a bad $40 mouse. In terms of what it doesn't do as well as the Logitech MX Master series, it is lighter in weight, has poorer build quality with cheap plastics, the flow is inaccurate (in that, it seems to pull up sooner than it should when moving), the back/fwd buttons are cheap and have a different unsatisfactory click compared to the main buttons & their positioning isn't ideal, no free scrolling & the BT disconnects itself randomly sometimes. On the plus side, I actually didn't mind the feel of Rapoo's scroll wheel.

At the same price, I'd go with the Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse suggested by Meaty or, spend the extra $20 and get a mouse that will be a pleasure to use every time.

            • @sinners007:

              Microsoft Bluetooth Ergonomic Mouse

i had a look at that, but it does not have a horizontal scroll. I think that takes it out of the contenders list.

Regarding the MX and this ragoo one, has anyone had experience of the battery life? Is it an elcheapo battery that runs out soon?

  • Worst mouse I ever used, don't even want to use as my office mouse.

    • what's bad about it?

      • +1

tracking and weight, it feels like a brick in your hand and it doesn't track properly, used it for 10 mins and threw it away.

  • Definitely spend the extra and get the MX Master

Better alternative with similar price https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/679673, also this one the button can be programmable.

The master is most famous for its free scrolling scroll wheel. Does this mouse have it?

  • +3

Received mine 2 days ago from the previous deal posted here. From my 2 days of use, I am satisfied with it so far. This does not have free scrolling wheel like the MX Master and the position of the back and forward buttons are not ideal, but they all work well as intended. Can switch between devices without much delay with the push of the button. Can't say much about the battery life yet given my limited time of use, but have been using it out of box without charging (Micro USB though). Decent weight and comfortable for my average sized hand for palm grip. Have never owned a mouse with side scroll wheel and it's really nice for excel spreadsheet.

Please note this is coming from someone who never used the hundred dollars premium mouse before so take my opinion as you like. Cannot say about the longevity of this mouse, but given the price I paid for it's decent enough for my standard.

  • Usually dispatched within 1-2 months.

I'm using this mouse now as my work desk daily driver. I don't mind it at all and the ability to control up to 4 separate devices (3 BT, 1 Wifi) is a godsend for me. Build quality is also ok, it certainly looks better than an entry level dell or Lenovo office mouse. The thumb scrolling is also awesome if you work with large excel sheets. For $40 you could do a hell of a lot worse than this. Especially since the Logitech equivalent are 50 - 200% more expensive.
