This thread serves to let everyone know how much you have saved on your 7/11 fuel app. Please see the archived thread (January 2017 - January 2022) for previous discussions.

Step 1: Subscribe to this thread to get email updates. You can change your subscription settings in your Ozbargain account to enable more/less email updates.

Step 2: Upon filling up simply fill in the details in this format:

  • NAME OF 7/11 STORE
  • PETROL TYPE
  • PETROL PRICE

Example:

  • Richlands QLD
  • ULP
  • 111.9/litre

                  I just paid 166.9 for U91 at Coles Express, not sure why so many people still trying to use 7-Eleven.

                      @jv: 23/6/2024: the cheapest coles express in Melbourne is 181c for Unlead and the station is about 1hr from my house. The cheapest 7-11I locked is 166 for Unlead and it is about 2 mins from my house. If you were me, which one would you choose? lol

      7-11 is 2 mins from my house for the cheapest price. Best coles express may be half an hour or more from my house. What do you choose?

    Hi everyone! I’ve finally finished an update to Refinery.FYI that I’ve slowly been working on since they introduced the 25¢ cap.

    You can now view all stores by price range on a map. Select a price to set it as the base map price, and the map will filter the stores accordingly:

    • Green: ≤ Base Price + 25¢
    • Yellow: ≤ Base Price + 50¢
    • Red: > Base Price + 50¢

    Select a store to show the maximum discounted price possible underneath the actual price. Green stores won’t show the actual price as it’ll be within 25¢ of the selected price.

    Hope this helps you find the few cheaper stores around, enjoy!

        Good idea, totally missed this use case. Copy Coordinates has been added to the map.

        The ability to enter a custom price, I've got a lock for 167.5 from last week for example.

        This was already on the list for a future update, just need more spare time to work on it.

      just curious, have you noticed a drop in page views?

      E.g. me, I won't be visiting 7 Eleven again as I can't get the fuel lock to work.

        I know there's at least one user less because I no longer fuel lock, got banned a while back and couldn't be bothered to get around it. Plus other stores nearby have been consistently cheaper.

        Comparing from when they introduced the cap (Feb 6) until now and the same time last year, there's been a drop of 25% in users.

      Just look at all that red in Syd and Mel, Bne isn't too bad with a couple of green options.
      I'm buying more Ampol and BP than ever before with this new 25c cap.

      great job. Thank you for updating the website even though you don't use it.
      Just checking for the green/yellow/red system. Does it change depending on the state / petrol grade? That would be really handy if it did but I can't work it out - if not can I request this as a feature for whenever you work on it?

        Thanks. It’s a fixed price range but changes based on the price and fuel type you select. You should see the key update in the top right of the map. My fault for preferring minimal UI with no explanation.

        The idea is you select the price you’ve locked at, and any green stores means you’ll get your locked price, yellow stores within 25¢ of your price and red stores greater than 25¢.

    Wow that took forever.

    But adding 7-Eleven under Magisk -> Settings -> Configure DenyList finally helped to get rid of the dreaded A01 error

    I can't do this anymore.

    I gave up.

    I won't be going to the (now) expensive 7 Eleven petrol stations anymore, doesn't make sense to me.

        VS method? Visual Studio?

        I've tried the Android Studio method. I couldn't run the phone emulator on my 8GB laptop.

    I have created an Android Studio virtual device profile which works for fuel lock.

    Download from: you have to message me for the link. Don't want to list it here just in case 7 eleven themselves download it and try to figure why it works (the file is almost 8GB as it is a device image, it's compressed down from 16GB)
    Unzip the file and folder to C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%.android\avd
    Obviously you have to download and install Android Studio

    You will need to log into your own google account to update 7 eleven app automatically or sideload yourself if you don't want to log into your google account.

    Open 7 Eleven app, log into your account.

    Open Device ID Changer, select au.com.fuel7eleven from the dropdown list (if you cannot select it click on any other app from drop downlist then find 7 eleven on the list again and click it). Click Random ID. Goto home screen, click Magisk, click the circular arrow top right, reboot. IMPORTANT You have to repeat this step and change Device ID/reboot every time you want to fuel lock.

    Find the cheapest fuel in your own state (I haven't bothered using VPN), Open GPS setter (click anywhere to skip the update box-it won't update even if you click update) enter the location for the fuel station, I press stop and start button bottom left just to make sure it has locked new location in.

    Go back to 7 Eleven app select your fuel and lock.

    I have tried this on a few computers and they work, but I cannot guarantee it will still work in the future. If you are still getting A01 then try with a new account.

      Try to clear data on app after changing ID, you should be able to get other states. Also, you don't need to reboot when changing ID.

        I've never needed to clear data on app after id change, but always needed to reboot for the new id to take effect.

    Been trying to lock using android emulator with no luck… I have a VPN on computer itself not an android app, keep getting A01 error.

    Tried disconnecting from VPN between getting price and locking it in. Tried clearing data on app and signing back in, tried Configure Deny 7 eleven app through magisk and still no luck.

    Any tried and true methods working 100% with VPN? Do I need VPN on phone and not just on my computer

    Is there a website that lets me look at all these up to date 7 11 prices for stores on a map or just a simple list of every store in the state or something? I want to find the cheapest store to me in a reasonable distance so I can maximize the 25c discount all the ones near me are 227.9 vs 165.9 on projectzerothree. All the cheap petrol sites in the OP just list like the top 3 in your state which doesn't help me.

        Tried a brand new phone, geoport and pure VPN app on iphone, Perth VPN and perth price lock

        Still getting A01 error :(

    Not having any luck fuel locking on iOS 16.7.8 on an iPhone X using ifakelocation in the same state - getting A01 error.

    I've tried to create another account and still getting the same error.

      I tried Geoport with VPN this afternoon and failed to get a lock. The last time I successfully locked using Geoport was ~2 weeks ago. What are the steps you used to get a lock?

        Once the price is loaded using Geoport, Stop the location sharing and just lock in price. I did this for two seepage separate accounts and it worked.

    Mate locked for me last night, but when I scanned card today, it wouldn't work.

    Lock was showing on my account, they tried pressing the card and re-scanning multiple times…

    Any ideas?

      logout and login again, your account is blocked, this would have been triggered when you scanned at the checkout

    Just tried interstate lock with geoport and turning off fake location prior to hitting lock worked like a charm. This is after multiple failed attempts with iFL. No VPN used, I toggled data to wifi prior to locking though. On iOS 16.2 + Mac

    Just managed to do an interstate lock like this:

    iOS 17.5.1
    Connect to geoport to perth
    PureVPN app on phone, connect to perth server
    Open 7/11 and choose fuel type and get price up
    Turn off location on geoport, turn off VPN in pureVPN app
    Lock fuel price

    Tried for quite a while including android studio and this is the only one that worked for me, haven't tried any other VPN services

    Has anyone had an issue where the 'my card' barcode wont load?

    Theres no errors or anything but when i pull up the my card its just an empty white box. Seems to work on an older phone without issues.

        Samsung s22 but locked on a different phone. I can add the barcode to my google wallet, but i havent tested to see if it works.

        Frustrating to say the least.

          Seems to be a common android issue. I can log the same accounts on an iphone and the barcodes show fine, so i dont believe its an account issue.

        Yes, I get the crash and the empty white box on the details. I can still lock from my phone's app but not via Android Studio anymore.

      Managed to lock again. (version 2.23.0)
      1. Change Device ID for au.com.fuel7eleven using Device ID Changer (I was getting G09 errors).
      2. Reboot.
      3. Create new account.
      4. Helicopter.
      5. Scan for fuel.
      6. Disable Helicopter.
      7. Lock in price.
      8. Profit.

    Finally got G09'd on a pretty old account almost immediately after making a lock just now. No idea how they finally caught on after going all these years unscathed. Oh well though it's a pity about the linked Velocity number, which I only just added a short while ago.

      I locked interstate and the discount didn't apply. Got an email the day after from 7 eleven advising I'd breached the t and cs and that my account has been blocked.

    Another for the g09 error camp.
    Did iPhone with ifakelocation.
    Locked in and went to fill up and the discount didn't come through. App still worked and could see the lock in price but no dice upon scan. They scanned multiple times as well.
    Beware for those filling big tanks and expecting discount ymmv.

        Full disclosure I've been locking in on a family members iPhone and logging into my pixel phone to scan at checkout.

        Note: I locked in an interstate price

        I have an older iPhone so don't have an issue with iOS versions. You need to stop the auto update on the phone for next time.

        As for solution I think you wait for the image to be uploaded somewhere and add that to your folders so it's compatible, haven't have this problem in a while so I don't remember. Should be earlier in this thread somewhere
