Hey everyone, I'm new to you know, closely following fuel prices etc but with the recent events, I've taken an interest in understanding how the market work.
Please correct me if what I'm saying is not correct.
Australia buys its petrol from Singapore, so the best index to follow is not the BRENT or WTI but the MOGAS95 https://www.aip.com.au/pricing/international-prices/internat…
Then I heard on the news last time that fuel prices at the pump are directly derived from the wholesale price which is the price at which AU petro stations buy their stocks/petrol.
So I wanted to find that wholesale price and after a little bit of googling I came across this page https://www.aip.com.au/pricing/terminal-gate-prices tracking the price of the "average Terminal Gate Price"
Does someone know what is the average terminal gate price? Is it another term to refer to the wholesale price or is it different?
Any insights is much appreciated
