  I usually go to InterContinental Hayman Island Resort, it's fabulous! So the membership is totally worth it.

      Buy the points when on sale and redeem the reward nights, and with the Platinum Elite, they will upgrade your room to one level up, that's why I said the membership is worth it.

  do the platinum perks work at all of their hotels (crown, regent, holiday inn etc) or just at the ones specifically named "intercontinental"? If it does seems like a great deal if you have a trip upcoming.

    It is a status for the IHG group in general, however, they are recently changing their loyalty program a bit and the benefits may also change. Generally you get free stuff/room upgrade for most of the brands, but not really sure about Holiday Inn.

  What’s the minimum 2 night stay cost in Australia? About $200 a night maybe?

    Unfortunately it is higher than that because they use the best flexible rate plan. So assume instead you will pay 300-350 for a capital city Intercontinental hotel and then get the 2nd night free in Australia that is.
