Just a note too that the NSW rebate is for 4.5 star machines, it was recently changed (pre-August 2008).
Looks like the QLDers are getting a bargain compared to us in NSW.
Just be prepared to throw out the washer when it breaks down. Many of these cheap Chinese imports have no service backup at all.
If you want a "cheap" washer buy something like this, if you want a "value" washer, spend extra and buy Miele - you will most likely still be using it in 20 years*I repair washing machines for a living and I wouldn't have one of these even if it was only $100
Thanks for the tips Steve!
By the way, wouldn't a washing machine that lasts 20 years put repair person like you out of job? :)
A washing machine that last 20 years will need repairing a few times, one that's not worth fixing, or that you can't get parts for, is what puts me out of a job.
I'd rather buy one of these every 2 years then spend 10 times the purchase price on a Miele.
Miele are fantastic, but overpriced.
Rebate of $200 applies to SA also. However, before you rush out and buy one of these check out the 9 reviews on this machine here

Based on what they say, I agree with SteveM - wouldn't buy one
Yes the front loader rebate has certainly made them very cheap to own!
NSW has similar rebate but for $150 only, between 1 August 2008 and 30 June 2010. Here's a Q & A PDF that you can download:
