          no, I mined on my RTX 3080 / solar setup for a couple of weeks out of interest ($7 USD a day profit free), then decided it was amoral and just a huge circle jerk and not actually worth anything.. just like NFTs. From the number of mining rigs up for sale with ethereum pricing bottoming out.. I'm finding it quite funny. Almost as funny as the number of scalpers now trying to sell their 'new in box' PS5s for store cost price. I hope they bought them on credit and are losing money due to interest repayments.

    looks like theres 2 types with different modules installed so they support different frequency bands and maybe different cat speed. not sure which is better for us australia

  • Do you think this would help to improve Vodafone 4G reception?

    • no.. if you have bad mobile / 4G reception already this will not help, it is not a booster (which I believe are illegal in Australia anyway).

      if your looking to improve signal strength then look into connecting an external antenna to your modem. not all modems support this. just dont fall for signal boosters

      what is your current setup? if you are missing some vodafone bands then using a modem which offers all the vodafone bands like this one could be an improvement as you can set it to lock onto certain bands that work well for you

      using a modem with ca (carrier aggregation) will also help. with higher ca you can aggregate more bands

      what you can do right now is to move your modem in direct line of site to the tower. ideally outside (if you can waterproof it) or somewhere that will minimize the amount of penetration (eg windows). but still experiment in different places sometimes you can get better results in unlikely places. if your current modem supports external antennas look into getting them. you can try a diy cantenna or incorporate the modem into its own antenna eg some people stick the modem in the middle of a satellite dish or a stick it in middle of a grill taken from an electrical fan or make a tinfoil type dish…etc you can lookup some stuff people do. but do note there are different antenna designs purposed for different environments (ie landscape, surroundings, buildings..etc) youll need to do some research or seek professional advise to determine which antenna is best for you. you can try asking for advise on whirlpool to get a better sense of things. there are some really knowledgeable on there. i noticed there have been some individuals there that can give the appropriate recommendations based on your environment (some go as far as analyzing your location to the tower if your comfortable giving your address to them)

      band locking
      lock onto bands that perform better for you instead of having the modem auto switching to underperforming bands. requires testing all supported bands foryour network. some modems support band locking natively, otherwise you can install custom firmware or use tools

      • Wow, thank you for all the information. I'll try some of the things you say. I didn't know about locking into different bands can give better reception. I'll let you know how I go
