I had enough of sandwich and pasta in the past years.
What Do You Have for Lunch While Working from Home?

Comments
 - Toasted sandwiches. - Toasted Vegemite sandwiches. - Toasted cheesy vegemite sandwiches - @proboscis: Used a frypan the other day because I was lazy (Too lazy to get the Jaffle maker out of the cupboard and too lazy to wash up the frypan from breakfast) It was delicious plus had a hint of bacon flavor from the pan! - @Krankite: Pan fried toasted sandwiches are bloody brilliant and something very different and special compared to the other methods. The real secret is more butter :P

 - I have sandwiches and pasta in the past year - PORK ROLLS - NUFF SAID

 - colleague told me about vegemite and avacado on toast, sounded wierd, but once i tried it, omg, so good. - Same with Vegemite, cheese and tomato. Amazing!
 - Try scrambled eggs on Vegemite toast. - Chef's kiss - Or with Beans and cheese on toast

 - It is so good especially how cheap avocado is right now. I had it 2 weeks straights.

 - isnt vegemite toast a staple food?

 - Same as what I do when I work from the office. Sandwich or leftovers.
 - left overs from dinner
 KFC/Maccas (bit harder now)
leb bread teasted with anything u want inside
 instant noodles
 salad
bean salad with can corn - why are KFC/Maccas bit harder? - After eating KFC for 2 years it is harder to leave the house. - Fitting through the front door?

 - if you are from nsw, shortages in chicken, limited menu, reduced opening hours - lol is this a real thing? - also questionable if kfc actually contains real chicken - @thirtysixd: Shortages due to supply chain issues because of covid, not because they're running out of chickens. - Staff shortages at Abattoirs, chicken processing plants, truck drivers - having contracted or being in isolation…. All for the economy so Dominic said. - KFC get those chickens from reputable suppliers like Inghams, steggles and biada so if you think that's not real chicken then you're kidding yourself

 - why stop there, what do you wear working from? - what time do you wake working from home? - etc etc. [sigh] - what time do you wake working from home? - Pants… sometimes?
 - What time can I come over?

 - Filet mignon - its raw - Where’s the lamb sauce?! - NNNIIINNNOOOOO

 - Whatever I feel like, or lately, whatever I have. Could be a sandwich, roll or wrap, salad, toast, eggs, pizza, noodles, pasta, jaffle, rice cakes etc. Today was a salad.
 - payweek: large zinger box, 10 extra wicked wings and krusher shake - not payweek: 2 pack mi goreng with a fried egg if I have left over money from pay week. - repeat - krusher? didn't kfc get rid of those like 10 years ago? - Spoiler: Jimmy has been unemployed a very long time. No pay-week for Jimmy.
 - He works at KFC :)
 - Wait what did someone say Krusher? Where where!?!?!?

 - A large gaytime krusher, takes a real man to order one of those. - sounds fab!!

 - If that is a serious diet then you're not managing your money and lifestyle well
 - Oof that's a fun toilet experience..

 - Sandwiches, soup, wraps, leftovers. Sometimes we have a hot pot which we just keep stretching out for a few days.
 - Shiraz or grenache. - Semillon or riesling on a hot day. - I gotta get some more grenache into my diet..

 - KFC / Maccas with 3k return walk :) - Depending on how fast you are walking, that walk will burn around 200-250 calories, which is about the same as a Big Mac! - I don't calories count but I haven't gain any wait since WFH so it's working 🤣
 - "around 200-250 calories, which is about the same as a Big Mac!" - 492 calories in a Big Mac, sadly. Even a cheeseburger is over 300. Counting calories sucks, but at least it shows you just how bad some of this stuff is. I miss Maccas…. - Oh sorry, google had it set to "per 100 grams" for some reason. - So OPs walk will cover 100g of Big Mac. - @SnowDragon: Haha! I can picture OP slogging their way to Maccas with kitchen scales under their arm, and weighing out 100g of burger.
 - @SnowDragon: But its provably 250 cal more than a healthy diet. So the walk covers the excess maybe? Haha

 - Calorie counting does suck! But, it helps a lot in realizing which meals you can can stand to lose :)
 - Sure but it's not like you want to burn all the calories on the walk. You need some for the basic body functions too.

 - bread - doritos - cheese - salami - needed to put more doritos
 - What Do You Have for Lunch While Working from Home? - Alfalfa - Creed?

 - Today was stir fried green beans, brown rice and some yoghurt. Usually depends on if I have something prepped from the previous night.
 - Ramen. - Amen!

 - Ngl when I have no reason to make or purchase a proper lunch, I either just don't eat or will snack on a whole pack of Tim Tams or box of crackers for the afternoon instead. Currently I am halfway through a box of Cheds instead of eating properly lol. - Don't be like me, eat a proper lunch. My fav when I can be bothered is avocado toast.
 - Beef Pho - How - There’s instant noodle ones at Costco, or you can buy the spice mix at Asian groceries - though they tend to be for massive quantities. - Or maybe he gets delivery from a restaurant.

 - Usually a berry and banana smoothie or sometimes my partner likes to make fancy instant noodles.
 - T-bone - Hey what was the name of that monkey that could read sign language?

 - Tomato plants are booming, so plenty of toasted sangas with tom & cheese, good with onion &/or ham too
 .
 - A thin stew made of fish, vegetables, prawns, and four kinds of rice. - Four kids of rice?! White, brown, wild? What's the fourth kind? - Red? Black? Arborio? Long grain? Short grain? - Fried? Steamed? Boiled? … Raw?

 - Could they get the spices right?
 - Sound interesting.
Are the rice still solid in the stew or has has it been cooked till it goes all mush? - This is a quote from the Simpsons

 - I came close to madness trying to find it here in the States but they just can't get the spices right
 - No matter how hard I try I just can't find anywhere that gets the sauce right

 - The misso…
Downvote away! - Miso soup? - That one is quite salty

 - Not sure why im down voting but happy to oblige.

 - I eat a raw carrot about 11.30 to prevent me from snacking on rubbish and eating (as much) junk for lunch. I've still put on 5kg but it could have been worse… - what is the benefit? I eat anything I like and still put like 7 kg… win win
 lol
jk- good on you mate. well done

 - instant noooooodz. but ive recently been on a korean pancake craze as my husband brought home a bunch of spring onions. - 1 cup AP flour - take 2 tablespoons out and replace with cornstarch - this makes cake flour , 1 cup water. thats it for the pancake mix, put in whatever fillings you want. whisk an egg and pour it on top of the batter in the pan. Sauce - gochujang, soy sauce, rice vinegar and a lil sugar. ate that 4 times in a week lol. super filling too (this makes 2 giant pancakes) - Damn that sounds really good. You've inspired me to want to make Korean pancakes.
 - Thanks! Sounds quick and easy. I'm going to try it tomorrow! - I got the gist of it from here and made do with what I had :) - Thanks! We would have these everytime we went to Jonga Jip BBQ. Just need to shop for the filings (or maybe I can see what leftovers are in the fridge!)

 - An even funner way to use the spring onions is Korean Potato Pancakes. - 2 large peeled potatoes (which makes about 1 large, or 2 small)
- half tablespoon of canola oil
- a small handful of spring onions
 - Grate the potatoes (use the raised grater on your standard triangle cheese grater) and empty them into a sieve above a bowl
- Wait for the water to drain off into the bowl before squeezing out the rest of the water from the potato lump. Transfer potato lump into another bowl or plate
- Wait 3-5 minutes before slowly draining off most of the water into the sink so you're left with the starch at the bottom of the original bowl
- Add back the potato lump, and include the spring onions, into the starch and mix through
- Heat up a frypan and add the oil to the pan
- Add the mixture into the frypan, spreading out the mixture with a spatula to an even height, probably about 5-7mm
- Flatten down large lumps and flip over when the edges of the mixture starts to brown (usually 1-2 minutes)
- Repeat step 7 before transferring to plate
 - Serve with sauce made with - soy sauce, roasted sesame seeds, a touch of apple cider vinegar, spring onions, and a dash of chili flakes :)
 - My local korean restaurant makes an amazing leek and seafood pancake. And I could never figure out what the sauce is. I'm screenshotting this comment and saving it to try later. Thanks!

 - Rice or bulgur bowl with can of flavoured tuna n salads. Bbq foods, burger, noodles. Generally just make extra so i have lunch a few days of the week already sorted. Soup. Tuna salad with bread or crackers. Japanese curry. Eggs, baked beans and toast. Crumpets. Etc etc. But always a few dinners made with the idea of additional quantities for lunches. That makes a big difference for me.
 - An old friend - Cannibalism ftw, also quite frugal. On point.
 - With some fave beans and a nice Chianti?

 - Was going to have a mushroom and cheese toastie for lunch but discovered the bread has gone mouldy from the humid Sydney weather. - Switched to poor-man’s ploughman lunch: jatz, cheese, twiggy sticks.

Sandwiches. Sometimes vegemite toast for a treat.
