These look tempting but, cheaper when you buy phone outright(5% gift cards) $2050 and use yearly telstra/boost sim plans $240 yearly

    • 5% gift cards.. where are you during the 15% off promotions?

the vodafone deal is infinitely better (despite having to deal with vodafone lol)

    $1000 off new phone, $69 per month, 24 months, 150GB p/month

This doesn't seem to be a good deal.

I'm quite sure you can get a good plan or a prepaid deal for, let's say, $30/month (I bet you can get cheaper).

    Let's say a new iphone is $1300 at any store (doesn't matter really). Plus 24 months times $30, that's 1300 + 720 = $2020 spent altogether.

    This deal is: $1300-$450 + 24×$65 = $2410 spent altogether over 2 years, or $1300-$650 + 24×$85 = $2690 (even worse).

Agree! Simple maths reveals these types of deals are invariably garbage.

vodafone offered $1000 off before Xmas 65/m for 24 months. If I remember correctly.

    Telstra similarly
    Bonus $1000 Gift Card When Port-in to Telstra $99/Mo 24-Month 200GB 5G Plan (Min Cost $2376) @ JB Hi-Fi Instore

Vodafone were also doing similar promotion. But it was 1000 off new iPhone with $69 plan over 24 months. Much better in comparison in my opinion.
    Need to visit apple store.
    Ends 31 jan.

What’s the cheapest offer to re-contract/continue with Optus with an iPhone Pro 13?
I watch a lot of Optus Sport and I’m happy with the Optus reception where I am so, I’d prefer to stay with Optus.

I’m currently on an old $49 plan with 80gb of data (which is plenty of data for me) so I don’t mind staying on the same plan.

The $65 plan offer works out ever so slightly better over 24 months than buying the phone outright and continuing on my existing plan, but that’s assuming I pay full price for the phone.
Are there any other options I should look at?

Everything Apple is overhyped and way overpriced.

Or worth the extra money, depending on your perspective.

  • Waiting for iPhone 14 Pro Max

  • Waiting for the Hologram Edition

  • I’m a iPhone pro max user

I don’t agree in paying more than 100 a month combined phone plan. Just my opinion. Any more is a waste of money.

I need the Telstra/ boost network for my work.

I port between boost and Telstra each month. I use the Woolies/coles prepaid deals 15 dollars for Telstra and 10 for boost. Works out 98 dollars a months over 24 months.
Waiting for the 14 pro max, and 10-15 % coles /Woolies flybys/rewards discount could make it cheaper

If I didn’t need Telstra/boost for work I would be using the 5 dollar prepaid deals Optus/voda/Woolies/kogan and others have on here every now and then

Cash backs don’t work for me due to having to stay activated after the 30 days.

    • Correction cashbacks work with the woollies mobile cards you only have to stay active for 30 days

Vodafone you have to stay active for 60 days

  • Shows Optus again the most stingy one out of the the big three…

I just don't understand why telco are not going back to the subsidize model because that is exactly what they are doing now….

For example the Vodafone apple store deal equals $119 an iPhone 13 pro 512g on that $69 plan and sensible user would expect that price for this phone / plan combo over 24 months.
