Goodness, if the 65 gets a bit closer to 2500 that might seal it for me

  • Dang record get it before the new series raises it again

Grab 65 if you can. Almost 40% larger screen makes difference. I had a 55 last year, still regret it.

I note the “if you can” but a TV that is too big for a room can look a bit strange.

      • +3

Exactly, not only that but a 55" is quite a bit sharper as well, so a 65" in some rooms will end up looking worse

    • +9

Maybe you should get 75" or even 85" because you will regret getting 65"…

      • +3

Exactly. I do have a small amount of regret getting my 65" rather than the 77". But then I realise I still have $3000 and I'm not too hurt.

Sure the next replacement when needed will be the 77" though.

I feel like this is a pretty widely varying experience depending on different peoples setups and preferences..? I've had post-it notes on the wall of my living area to help me visualise what size TV I should get, and 65" looks like it'd be incredibly overkill.

      • How far away from your couch will the tv be? I can tell you that in my small living space the tv is only about 2m from the couch and the 55" 'looks' about right to me. Maybe the 65" at the maximum but at that point it kind of dominates the space and looks weird

    • Got a 120 inch projector, replace 50 inch tv with 75 inch tv. Movies and sports, bigger the better for me.

      • Yes 55inch was ok when we had standard definition, maybe ok for bedroom

Any deals on the 48" at the moment?

I just ordered this yesterday and it was $2130, feels pretty bad they dropped the price less than a day later. I'll try and contact their support to see if they can do anything I guess

    • Cancel your previous order and buy a new one

      • appliance central does not have an online account system, unfortunately you can't cancel orders, we have to contact them to do that - at that point I may as well ask them to refund me the difference. I've emailed them, let's see what happens

        • Some credit card providers have "price protection" on them.

  • Paid $2,556.00 on 4/12/21 @ JB. As soon as it was on the wall I regretted not getting the 65".

    • What was your mode of purchase?

      • In Store

        • I mean if it was CC you could possibly use the price guarantee insurance and claim the difference.

    • +3

Yes, you can get oled 65" with that price. 55" is my choice if it is less than $2k. I prefer the 55" B series. It is brilliant with the price about $1600

      • I got that deal too, crazy times.

    • I've got 65" C1 for my living room and looking to get a 55" for my bedroom. If you're in Melbourne and want to upgrade I can take that 55

  • How does everyone find the wall mounting for the C1?

It looks like the cabling at the back is poorly designed

Is being flusher to the wall worth it to get the G1 instead?

    • G1 is designed to be flush against wall. If that’s what you want, do it.

  • I’m in the market for a new 4k Tv and I’ve been eyeing this model since launch. I could buy it today and with that price I’m ready to pull the trigger. However with the new models around the corner, I’m conflicted. Someone throw some guidance. Movies and gaming main use, what are your thoughts?

    • This TV is perfect for gaming and it's the best you can get, Movies are great too. I would snap this up now if you don't want to pay the high prices of the new TVs, I'm in the same boat as you, I want to jump on this deal for the newer features but the new TVs are about to be announced and I want to know what they have in store even though they're going to cost a lot more than this and won't be ready till middle of next year.

  • It's $2005 now and backorder only

  • My local Jbhifi price matched the Appliance Central deal, though they weren't really happy about it.

    • +1

Even though it's on backorder they price matched? Well done!

      • Yeah, I was a bit worried about the back order thing, but they never brought it up.

  • Isn't it's interesting that we used to get LG B9 55 inch OLED for $1640 back in 2019 on boxing day sale now we are paying higher and higher price every year for the similar product.

    • But wasn't the C9 to be an equivalent to this year's C1, not the lower spec B9?

  • +2

Just rang up JB Hi-Fi and they were happy to pricematch Appliance Central at $2005 incl delivery (the price went up).

Unfortunately, their delivery time is Feb.. but I have no choice as I want to use the JB gift cards!

  • I ordered one on 26th December, it shipped out of Sydney on the 29th, got to Melbourne on the 30th, and… nothing has happened since. Allied Express haven’t responded to my inquiries, and the estimated arrived date is still listed as 30/12/2021.

Of course Covid is a thing and Allied Express are almost certainly short-staffed and flat-out, but their system should least revise the ETA.

Disappointed, back to work on Monday and won’t be around to sign for it… if it ever even ships. If you’re outside Sydney you might want to consider trying to price match somewhere more local.
