    $1198 now

I guess they are having 'lowest price guarantee'. fight with someone.

Still could be lower given previous deal prices.

  • How’s IPTV work? What do I need to search for to find answers? Thanks

  • Hmm was thinking of an ultrawide OLED monitor for my PC for quite a bit more than this, but now researching how viable this TV would be for a mixed work/gaming monitor.

You'd need a really deep desk, otherwise RIP your neck

      • Would this work with an Omnidesk Pro. Says 76cm depth

        • my desk in 90cm and its pretty good

    • +1

It's just too damn tall for a work/gaming setup on a standard like ~70cm deep desk. If you had it wall mounted behind the desk, that could certainly work as you could have the base of the screen level with the desk itself kinda thing. But people have certainly made it work for them so would be entirely environmental how it works for you.

      • My desk is around 80cm deep. My head is probably around 100-110cm from the wall. Would it be feasible? Currently using a 34" curved ultrawide that's on a pole mount.

        • yup that would be fine. the 48 would probably be too much at that distance though.

    • Good points, thanks all. I don't have a deep desk but I like to recline at my PC so I sit further back. Still sounds risky, will probably just keep saving my pennies for the Samsung G9 OLED I had my eye on initially.

I’ve been using a 42” 4K tv as my work pc monitor for nearly a decade! I love it.

I then decided it wasn’t big enough and bought a 27” Vertical monitor next to it. So I probably have 60” wide of screen. And sometimes a 13” iPad as a 3rd screen on the other side.

      More screen=more better.

The best PC monitor you will ever own.
Seems overwhelming at first but you get used to it after a month.

    For Gaming:

Some things no one talks about, providing you are happy with 144Hz
    - Sit back with a controller and enjoy actual proper HDR
    - Setting the resolution to 2560x1440 creates a perfect 27-inch monitor in the middle of the screen, perfect for FPS
    - Setting the resolution to 3072 x 1728 creates a perfect 33-inch monitor in the middle of the screen.
    - Does 38-inch 4K ultrawide as well.

The only group it doesn't suit is sweaty FPS users

    • Interesting! What's it like for split window setups? I currently run 2x 27" monitors and run a VM (via Citrx) off one and browse on the other. I'm wondering if a horizontal split would work and look OK…

    • 4k ultrawide (3840x1600) is IMO the best resolution to play at, for the ultra immersive experience.

    • I have purchased every monitor format available, and I agree for gaming, this is the best you can get.
Im also a sweaty fps player. suits me just fine
you can also run a custom resolution in full screen via Nvidia control panel (mine is 2974 x 1673) which is like 65% of 4k and res still looks amazingly crisp in full screen, even while sitting 500-600mm away

    • This guy thinks inside and outside the box

    • this is what i use for everything, awesome cad monitor as well

Wall mounted with 60cm depth desk.

Is this pushing it as to close for monitor use?

    • I use it with the legs, and a 65 cm desk. It's no problem for working or gaming. If you want more depth, consider adding in a keyboard tray, it will effectively increase your desk depth by like 30 - 40 cm.

  • No delivery to Darwin, have a referral voucher to use too! Dang

  • Is it possible to price match with a local JB hifi(perth)? to skip the delivery cost

    • +1

yep provided they have stock at your local JB. They price matched this for me. Click on Live Chat, "Ask JB for a deal". Show them the link to this one and they should oblige.

how about it connect to apple Mac mini for display?

  • I want this for my lounge room pc!

  • For those interested on how this "monitor" is like for work/productivity, it's far from perfect compared to other panels. The subpixel layout of the LG OLED produces colour fringing, for example a yellow box has red fringing on the left and green on the right. Not ideal, so as a current owner, this is a stop gap till the next best thing comes out addressing this fringing issue.

Grabbed one from HN for $1050 as it was one of the few left in store.

    • +1

I asked about one today and they said they could do $1200. They only have one boxed one left in stock. How did you get them to go down to $1050?

      • Just asked if they could do a better price than appliance central. The guy was really nice and did $1100 but then I asked if we can lock it on $1050, he asked his supervisor and did it.

  • +1

Bugger, I purchased last week for 1290.

I use it as a PC monitor. Holy shit it's amazing.

  • Price seems to be $1350 now
